USA basketball is dying.. This is what it looks like... This is how it feels... We have all these great players and massive talent edge, yet it feels empty and like we are vulnerable.. The fact that we no longer have the best players in the world is part of it (the top 5 NBA players are all from other countries) but the other part is that we've been breeding drive-and-kick spammers for the last 15 years, so our quality of team basketball is far inferior to other countries - we don't have the best brand of ball anymore, OR the best talent.. it will only get worse unless Silver gets rid of the hands-off, defensive 3 beginner format that produces this weak brand of ball, weaker hoops instinct and inferior skillsets.
This is actually very accurate
They should’ve have and we don’t need him to beta eurotrash and he sucks and he isn’t an American.
then why are they playing him? :oldlol:
embiid has no shame either. trying to latch on for a free win, and just wants to hang out with his peers and feel cool.
kid is a bitch.
I really can't get over how pathetic it is that the US recruited Embiid.
It's so pathetic loser behaviour. The US has a stacked team and is winning by 20+ points on average and they had to steal a black man from Africa, because they were afraid of losing?
It's utterly weak and pathetic and any olympic medal will be tainted for it.

Embiid is a net negative. He's the one who begged to be on team USA. They quite literally do not need him and would be a better team without him

Embiid is huge and is a good rebound and defender. He takes away the US main weakness in FIBA ball which is being undersized.
Without Embiid, the US would lose against Serbia every time.
What do you think is Olympic status will be in 2028
What do you think is Olympic status will be in 2028
Probably will stay home. Embiid doesn't seem as the ambitious or patriotic type. He won once, probably good enough.
What do you think is Olympic status will be in 2028
oui oui

Thats your reigning defending world champion....have some respect you piece of garbage. before he comes back to Toronto and puts the raptors into a deeper rebuild than he already has them in
Yeah Luol Deng putting South Sudan on the map basically proves that every excuse for Embiid is bullshit.
Embiid is very rich, he could easily pay his own insurance and fund the entire country's basketball system if he wanted. He seems selfish.
The decision likely came down to the reality that he may never win an NBA championship.
He never won in college. Sure, he's won a state championship in HS, but not the national HS championship. With his knees, who knows if this would be his last chance at making a US Olympic team. He wouldn't have won gold with Cameroon.
He made the decision based on the likelihood that this would be his only chance to actually win the ultimate prize for once in his life. I don't blame him.
Just can't get over that the US needed to recruit a foreign player when they already had AD and Bam. It's just wrong.
What's even worse is Kerr barely played him certain games after he committed to the US. Why not let him play fully with his home country.
