My belief is there's never been another civilization that's visited another one from a different solar system. I think the time and distances are too much to intelligence life to overcome. Too many things have to go perfectly right for that to happen. I think life is more abundant than what people think. The universe is a big place. Maybe someone already invented the television millions of years ago in some other solar system on some other planet that's already went extinct.

The tech industry one isn’t really in danger so much because that’s more solution and user-based, which requires and always will require extensive human communication. Run of the mill coders? Sure. Probably phased out.

Funny ( not in a ha ha way) how we're just sprinting head first into this at warp speed, no regulations, no wider conversation for what it will do almost immediately to millions of lives because the tech is moving faster than we can react to it. It's like that scene from Jurassic Park with Jeff Goldblum's character talking about the ethical implications of re-introducing Dinosaurs into modern society, one of my favorites pieces of movie dialogue:

And this is absolutely how I imagine the movers and shakers of A.I are acting. Nothing but the potential of dollar signs with zero fukks given about the damage to society.

I mean people will say we watch too much fiction but I do think people like James Cameron or the brothers ( or I guess they're sisters now :confusedshrug:) that came up with the Matrix were more than just creatives, they were tapping into something very deep about the human condition, our innate self-destructive nature even when it's pretty obvious to anyone the pitfalls A.I could bring about, because its being pushed through by those with wealth and resources. Why? For more wealth and resources, naturally.

i think the motivation to develop AI is more than just financial gain. there is an arms race especially between the US and China to see who can develop the best AI software and quantum computers. For the US, they want to maintain their superpower status as a nation, and for China, they would love nothing more than to become the leading superpower nation. That's why you see all these tech companies spending billions on R&D and the government allowing them proceed with no regulations.

Probably but ultimately, where I'm going is we know A.I won't be used in any way that actually pushes mankind forward. It will be used to consolidate wealth and power. If anything trickles down to society then it is just that, an incidental trickle down, but certainly not the express intent to actually progress humanity.

So you don't believe UFOs/UAPs are extraterrestrial in nature? The distances are insane, I agree, we as humans really can't fathom just how far and how much space there is between star systems. Some explain that these phenomenon travel interdimensionally so...
I also agree with you that it's impossible that life hasn't/doesn't exist elsewhere in the universe, we already know it's happened once, here. Just mathematically the odds of it happening only on Earth is miniscule with some many stars and planets orbiting them the chance of that not happening again and again is not realistic. We simply don't have the technology yet to detect them, and would we even know what an alien civilization looks like? I can imagine that an alien life form would probably be unrecognizable

It's also entirely possible that there are races of 'Aliens' that are basically exactly like us. Just as you say the mathematical odds are low that life as we know it only exists on Earth, I would also imagine that what we know as homo-sapiens isn't limited to Earth. We're not only separated by time and space, we may also be separated by reality and dimension.

There only insane to us because hes thinking from only a humans capability ~ cars, trains, planes etc. The technology higher advanced beings possess would be like teleportation type thing or like you said manipulating travel through different dimensions where its not a literal physical distance of flying billions of miles.

No. I don't think intelligent alien life has ever visited Earth. Until we get better evidence than UFO clips that won't change. I don't think any intelligent life in the universe has ever gotten to the point of human theories of wormholes or interdimensional travel or things of that sort. I just think it's one of those unseen laws of the universe where life can't overcome these bonds. Just like you can't do something like turn air into gold.
This is kind of off-topic, but I do think we live in a multiverse. And things are much more bigger than what we think they are. I think each universe is floating around separate from each other sort of like living cells in some form of life. Each cell has a beginning and end and does the same function in relation to each other, but they're not exactly the same. I think different versions of these universes contain different versions of ourselves in them that made some other choice and went down a different path throughout life.
Sometimes when I get deja vu I like to think the reason I got it is because some other version of myself in some other universe did the thing I was having deja vu over and somehow our memories got mixed up or linked together because that other version of myself was doing the exact same thing I was doing at that exact same moment crossing signals.

I don't think there's ever been life that has gotten to that point. I think it's human nature to hope for such a thing, but I think intelligent life doesn't last long enough for it to ever advance to that point. It's all theory anyway.
