How come so many of you guys refused to condemn the rioters? How come so many of your [I]leaders[/I] refused to condemn the rioters?

if someone is throwing rocks at vehicles, destroying property, inciting violence, i am complete agreement they deserve to be hauled off to jail. the problem is they use that as an excuse to instill a curfew and shut down any protests regardless if they're peaceful or not. it's classical sabotage by the opposition. trump clearly wanted to send a message and use the military as a scare tactic for any future protests. he's not even hiding it. he said people protesting on his birthday would have consequences. he's clearly butthurt that people don't like him.

They're not being hauled to jail though. We're only having this discussion in the first place because local leadership is tolerating it and allowing it to continue.

Why would they allow it to continue? And if you claim you're against it, why are you supporting it?
