Re: BREAKING: Celtics Trade Holiday to Blazers for Simons
Wishing Jrue Holiday well. I think Portland is now trying to do some winning so being there shouldn't be awful for him and anyhow he's rich and he's won two championships so this isn't a sad story.
I haven't paid a lot of attention to Simons but supposedly he can score and he can shoot. Celtics did the deal to save money, he doesn't make the team better on paper but he should be good for depth. One positive is that he's significantly younger. Holiday will be 36 when Tatum is ready to come back and was already having a hard time staying on the floor at 35. The defense is taking a huge hit but Stevens has a year to figure that out.
Re: BREAKING: Celtics Trade Holiday to Blazers for Simons
Wondering also if Portland got him to trade him again to a contender. Lakers could use him badly.
I think they’d love to trade KP. He’s always out.
Its a shame we didn't get to see him healthy during this postseason run. He had some sort of long covid or something that just didn't allow him to play big minutes. Which is funny because from an injury standpoint, he was healthy. But of course, there's always something with Porzingis :facepalm

Id guess they are keeping him. Great vet for up and coming team. Blazers should be in the mix this year
Re: BREAKING: Celtics Trade Holiday to Blazers for Simons
Holidays shoot was failing with the Bucks ,... now Celtics realize he is just to old.
Holidays shoot was failing with the Bucks ,... now Celtics realize he is just to old.
If the Celtics were in position to compete for the championship next season they may not have made the deal, its the combination of second apron and Tatum's injury that drove this. It's harder to keep him healthy but if you can load manage him right Holiday can help you in the postseason.
Re: BREAKING: Celtics Trade Holiday to Blazers for Simons
simons might start over pritchard, hes going be the 2nd leading score I think. then gets traded at deadline for even more salary relief I think.
Holiday is washed. A bench piece at this point.
Guy should have gotten the FMVP last year, waaaaaaaaay to early to say he's washed. Would not be shocked if he doesn't elevate another team to a title.
Re: BREAKING: Celtics Trade Holiday to Blazers for Simons
The Blazers have the stupidest front office in the league. If anyone wants to debate that, I'm ready.
Re: BREAKING: Celtics Trade Holiday to Blazers for Simons
The Celtics will end up flipping Simons for a 1st rounder at the deadline.
