I'll be honest I didn't watch the entire Murray/Smith debate on Rogan. I only saw various clips that were making the rounds. From the clips I saw no surprise I sided with Murray, especially about the part where Smith hides behind his "comedian" status.

I also agreed with Murray's take on Dave's lack of credentials and why he shouldn't really be in a position to talk. Yes I'm fully aware that we exist in a world where "experts" lie to us in bad faith, but if you're gonna have a debate about something on the largest possible platform in the world, in this case the Rogan podcast, then maybe the person sitting in that seat [I]should[/I] be an expert with a lifetime of knowledge and experience.

Doug has had a front row seat to this thing for 25 years. Dave is a comedian who just learned about these things in the last few years and did research. When Doug had boots on the ground Dave was telling jokes. It's like arguing about 90's basketball with a 20 year old. No matter how much research they do they'll never have the first hand knowledge and experience. They can never argue from a real place of authority because they don't have the frame of reference.

Again I'm just going off the small bits that I saw. If there is an example of Dave actually making a valid point and humiliating Murray, or a part where Murray came off looking ignorant or hypocritical, I welcome someone to share it.

i don't understand this notion about how someone like smith doesn't reach some made-up qualification threshold to be able to speak on or debate the subject. if that's the case, then why doesn't murray just get straight into it obliterating him intellectually instead of sitting there for three hours attacking his credentials? bullshit aside, i think there are better people that can better represent either side of the argument than these two. jonathan conricus and bennie morris are two from the israeli side that i can appreciate. unfortunately clashes amongst individuals like those two and someone like john mearsheimer, scott ritter, douglas macgregor or any of those other staunch america first guys rarely ever happen because everyone's too busy circle jerking amongst their echo chambers.
