The game was never close after that..
It was a giveaway game for the Knicks where they would see if they could keep it close early on, but then pack it in and save energy for Game 4 if the Bulls started running away with it.
This was common knowledge at the time.
You mean the game Pip shot 83% from the field, outscoring an Mj that shot 17 free throws?!! Higher game score, offensive rating and all. Not so nice try.
The reason this matters is because Pippen never took over as the top dog in a meaningful playoff game - EVER... So Jordan wasn't just the top dog in every series (unprecedented), but also every meaningful GAME
Ehh, probably that series Pippen got consideration for FMVP before getting injured. Or maybe the one Rodman got FMVP talk. Or even the finals game the 3rd option (Kukoc) outscored Mj while shooting 85% from the field and Mj shot 35%.

Re: 1st quarter in Game 3 of 93' ECF - MJ 8 pts, 6 ast... Pip 6 pts, 0 ast... 15 pt l
That game
MJ 22 points on 18 shots
Pippen 29 points on 12 shots
This game is a great example of how Pippen could be a 27/7/7 guy if not for playing alongside a ball hogging low efficiency chucker his entire career
Great thread OP

Re: 1st quarter in Game 3 of 93' ECF - MJ 8 pts, 6 ast... Pip 6 pts, 0 ast... 15 pt l
Chicago swept the 91 ECF.... Pippen named most outstanding player of game 4 for the clincher.

A great example indeed. Jordan retired after that Playoff run. Did Pippen average more than 22 ppg the next year? Oh, he didnt. Did he put up more than 25 points in a single game against the Knicks despite getting the most FGA that he did in any other series of his career? Oh, he didn't.

commentary says something pretty interesting. Im just surprised that 3ball cant even be bothered to watch actual Mj games and not the boxscore. Something about being carried.....

A dagger to 3ball's heart :lol He proceeded to go 2/11 after that.
Marv Albert a minute later also says "it's still early in the game", debunking his already idiotic claim the game was over after the 1st.
Biggest lead of the game for chicago, a 16-point margin. Look at that stat. Jordan only 1-7, the rest of the bulls 12-14. so here are his teammates, carrying Michael Jordan
And this is from Marv Albert a goat nba commentator who would seemingly cream his pants just saying "Jordan! Yes!" So no claims of a hit job here.

Brutal. It's no wonder they shook off him quitting to still win 55 games.

^^^ the timestamp that you posted was 2 possessions into the 2nd quarter - both possessions were assisted by Jordan to give the Bulls a 16-point lead.. So Jordan had 8 points and 8 assists to get the 16-point lead that your timestamp shows, while Pippen was MIA with 6 points and 0 assists at that point..
(fyi - at the end of the 1st quarter, Marv mentions that Jordan has 8 points and 6 assists - 1:04:01 timestamp.. then your timestamp is 2 possessions into the 2nd quarter, which were both assisted by Jordan)
I rest my case - you clearly lost, and I clearly won this thread and argument - Pippen is the only 2nd option that has no playoff games or series where he took over as 1st option

Actually the opposite is true, youre down so bad in this thread you're talking about assists! Historically whenever its come to Pippen's assists, or even Lebron's they haven't held any weight from you're perspective in any thread ive ever seen you in. Holy backpedal the goalposts batman. Is it all about scoring or not? Truth of the matter is right there in real time Marv Albert said on national TV Jordan’s teammates were carrying him in a game the pregame hype package deemed do or die. And Marv Albert loves Mj's dirty gym shorts more than you or anyone on this board ever did lol. You've gotta hold the Guinness world record for thread backfires. Case slammed closed.

Jordan outscored Pippen to get the 16-point lead, so you have no point - then he out-assisted him 8 to zero.. That's the only reason it's significant is because zero assists is abnormally-low for Pippen or anyone.... The reason I don't normally care about assists is because I know that Jordan, Pippen or Lebron average similar numbers generally.. This game was an exception for Pippen, so I pointed it out - zero assists to Jordan's 8 is really bad, especially when Jordan is also outscoring Pippen to get the 16 point lead (and taking on all the defensive attention)

Jordan went 1 for 7 while his teammates, Pippen included went 12 for 14 from the field. There's no coming back from that. You picked another fight without knowing what you were getting into. You took an L. For millionth time at that. Its fun to see you completely flip your stances in times of crisis lol.
