Everyone loves to complain about the fan votes, but at the end of the day, only one or two fan favorites make the all-star game who wouldn't have made it anyway if only coaches voted.
Looks like this year Iverson will be the fan favorite who doesn't deserve to be there, so that's just 1 out of 24 all-stars (both teams combined).
Yi ain't gonna make it, it's one player from the fans and the rest coaches pick 'em.
Who the f is d harris? nobody gonna vote for a nobody.
As for D12, of course he gonna dominate all of the votes, not only has he been a beast, he's the only center in the East.
Devin Harris has a ridiculously low amount of votes.
I hope Shaq makes the team. It'd be great to see him play in his home team's city for the ASG in what has been a great comeback season for him.
I hope so too, but he won't be a starter. Yao has that spot locked up until he retires.
Yi ain't gonna make it, it's one player from the fans and the rest coaches pick 'em.

It's actually 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center picked by the fans. Not one per position. That is why Yi could get it.
AI votes are down, he stole many the last 2 years from Melos fanbase. However he is lucky he is competing with nobody. Melo has AMARE + Tim duncan as high competition.

Sammy Dalembert plays for the Heat?
I hope so too, but he won't be a starter. Yao has that spot locked up until he retires.
Yeah but if my memory is correct then he wasn't a starter in LA back in '04 but he put on a hell of a show and won the ASG MVP. It'd be cool regardless to see him in the ASG again,. especially this year.
Lol @ Yi but if it means anything I have a chinese buddy ACTUALLY FROM CHINA as in he used to watch CBA and NBA, and he said where he's from they think Yi is ok but nowhere near that good and shouldn't be an allstar, and he doesn't have enough experience and gets scared in big games, so it's not like all Chinese blindly vote for Yi regardless if he isnt the best, i think its like America here in america theres alot of dumb people in china theres alot of dumb people too, those are the ones who vote for yi also anyone notice Dalembert is second most votes for center, um if he gets in he'd be the worst all star ever way way worse than Okur and even Yi getting in
Agreed I hate when people stereotype an entire ethinic group because there players don't get in. There are dumb voters everywhere, especially here in North America. 495,514; Yi Jianlian (NJ) 356,556; Chris Bosh (Tor) I'm a Raptors fan and that's not right! Bosh is the better player hands down but Yi gets more of the popularity vote.
Forwards: LeBron James (Clev) 643,786; Kevin Garnett (Bos) 495,514; Yi Jianlian (NJ) 356,556; Chris Bosh (Tor) 274,195; Paul Pierce (Bos) 153,512; Shawn Marion (Mia) 144,066; Josh Smith (Atl) 59,574; Tayshaun Prince (Det) 56,846; Hedo Turkoglu (Orl) 56,006; Danny Granger (Ind) 49,752; Michael Beasley (Mia) 48,999.
Yi has 100 000 more than Bosh, a double the votes of Paul Pierce, and 7 times the votes of Danny Granger.
He is putting up 11points (at 43%) and 6 boards.
How many years are we from having an all China starting lineup consisting of a crippled Yao, 6th man Yi, and three Chinese D-Leaguers that somehow snuck on the Ballot.
-Ridnour&Nelson>Rose>Devin Harris
-Gilbert Arenas has votes
-Okafor is probably the second best center in the East, but he's not even top 10 most voted.
-Jet&Kidd>Billups,Roy
Can't blame China for those

I hope Yi and Bosh both make it, **** Lebron and KG!
I'm a Raptors fan but I hope Yi makes it over both KG and Bosh. I'd rather Bosh save his energy for games that actually mean something rather than the pointless All-Star game. Take those 3-4 days off Bosh.
LOL where are the people who said the Chinese won't vote for Yi just because he's Chinese?
Agreed I hate when people stereotype an entire ethinic group because there players don't get in. There are dumb voters everywhere, especially here in North America.
I don't blame China, I blame the voting system. The Chinese are probably a lot like US voters: there are some smart fans, and then there are some homers. Homers are the reason why guys like Jameer Nelson has over 100,000 votes. Some fans will vote for a guy because it is the team they like, not because the player deserves it. Every area has its fair share of homers. China is just a lot bigger area with a lot more people, so theoretically they could have a lesser ratio of homers than places in the US, and still have more homers that will rack up a scrub like Yi 350,000 votes already.
So yeah, China's homers are no worse than our homers, but there are just so many people in China. Hopefully, the NBA will change the voting system so that Yi doesn't undeservingly make the team in the future.
If Yi got in, they would have to change the system. Like how about NOT HAVING A PLAYER AS ****TY AS YI ON THE ****ING BALLOT?!?!?
Allen Iverson doesn't deserve to make the All-Star team this year, especially not as a starter.
Joe Johnson, Devin Harris and Ray Allen have all been playing better IMO.
Oden having more than Jefferson is truly one of the most absurd things I've ever seen in my life. Absolutely no reason for him to have more votes. None at all. And the fact that Yi is likely going to get in is laughable as well. As long as people who look back on this in 20 years wondering how he got in realize he's Chinese, it's all good.
Forwards: LeBron James (Clev) 643,786; Kevin Garnett (Bos) 495,514; Yi Jianlian (NJ) 356,556; Chris Bosh (Tor) 274,195; Paul Pierce (Bos) 153,512; Shawn Marion (Mia) 144,066; Josh Smith (Atl) 59,574; Tayshaun Prince (Det) 56,846; Hedo Turkoglu (Orl) 56,006; Danny Granger (Ind) 49,752; Michael Beasley (Mia) 48,999.

ridnour gets more votes than devin harris and joe johnson is even sadder than yi over bosh.
Ridnour probably has a ton of relatives and friends.
What the **** is with my fellow Australians? Vote like the Chinese get Bogey on the all star team!
WANKERS!!!
Muhwahahahah! Face the awesome voting power of the Chinese! Your democracy fails!!!!!
Lol, it is pretty funny how Yi is third, damn it will be so funny if he out does Garnett, Garnett will prboably prepare a speech containing 99% swear words and bellow it at Yi (or Harris more likely) at the next Nets game. Yi is nowhere near deserving an All-star spot of course, but it would be hilarious
Oh i see whats going on here
the 5000 billion people in China are only voting for Yao and Yi, the Black players are stealing the votes off Yao and Yi and the White players are too scared to do anything.
Bogey on the other hand..lazy wankers!!
Forget about Yi, what the hell is AI doing there?

U might as well forget it, he deserve to make the team, and the fans want him to start, the fans are not going to start to start those other players above iverson, its out of respect on how he changed the game.

It's Harris who deserves the spot.
It's Harris who deserves the spot.
But if Mike Brown is the coach Mo Williams will get it. He is having a good season to.
This kind of result is why only the starters are chosen by voting. Yi having that many votes is just a joke.
what has allen iverson done thats so spectacular.. if he gets voted in the all star game ahead of people liek
devin harris
rose
carter
thats b.s.. he ruined detroits chances to make a run and yet hes going to the allstar game, by fans.. i agree it should be only coaches decisions to pick
Sammy Dalembert plays for the Heat?
There's a Sammy D in Miami too!?
Never heard of him. But if he's good enough for second on the AS balloting we'll trade for ours.
:confusedshrug:

No I said he deserve to be in the game out of respect, and no I don't think he deserve that starting point guard spot, but hey the fans is gonna pick him.

Harris is better than him this year, maybe vince, but rose definitely should not be there above him.

At least I can understand the rationale for the other players with too many votes, but I just don't get this.

No one deserves to be in the game out of respect, he's flat out not one of the better guards in the EC.
