All of that is what makes Kobe a great player. I wont take anything away from what he did above.

Kobe Bryant Finals Stats (Updated):

IND - 15.6 PPG, 36% FG
PHI - 24.6 PPG, 42% FG
NJ - 26.8 PPG, 51% FG
DET - 22.6 PPG, 38% FG
BOS - 25.7 PPG, 41% FG

How you play in the Finals is what makes you an elite player. Ask Karl Malone. His legacy was tarnished by how poorly he played in the Finals. The above stats show that Kobe just hasn't stepped it up in the Finals.


And for all this talk about how Jordan was an a-hole too, I'd just like to point out one thing. [B][U] HE BACKED IT UP.[/U][/B] Thats why he gets more of a pass on this kind of behavior and Kobe doesnt. When you come down hard on your teamates all the time and then lead them to 6 NBA titles you're a great leader. When you come down hard on your teamates and then blow a 3-1 series lead, blow an 18 pont 2nd half lead and get historically blown out in game 6 of the Finals, you're an a-hole.

And it's not just that, Kobe doest have the personality skills to act like he does. Two people can tell the same exact joke and one guy can have people rolling while the other will have people walking away in silence. Thats cause one guy knows how to tell a joke and the other one doesnt. Same thing woth Jordan and Kobe. Jordan knew how to be hard on his teamates and push his team to be better and win and Kobe doesnt.

Lberon has only been in [b]1 finals[/b] and he was the clear leader of that team while Kobe has been in [b]5 finals[/b]. For 4/5 of those, Kobe played second fiddle to the most unstoppable force in NBA history who had to be trippled teamed at times (check Shaq's Finals numbers, They're:eek: ) which means Kobe had tons of 1 on1 play and he still put bad FG%'s.

Kobe has been a leader for 4 years before going to the finals. Lebron had a terrible fg % against a team Kobe dominated in 5 games. Fact of the matter is, Lebron is winless. Face it, he has more bronze medals than championships. :oldlol:

4/5 he avg over 22ppg. 4/5 as a Legit Side Kick. Won 3/5 Titles.

He only has 1 Finals where he was the Man, and thats a Choke. When you put his stats up as the Side Kick, it seems like you are counting that as him being the Leader. Just because Shaq is in the middle doesnt make him better as a indivisual Player.

Yet he made the finals with the same supporting cast. Didn't Gibson beast against Detroit? Didn't Drew put up good numbers in all rounds and we all know Big Z is always gonna show up. Typical Cavs fans trying to put down there roster.

Spurs? Lebron and Kobe didn't even face the same D because they're teams didn't have the offensive power. Lebron was shadowed/double/tripled because the Spurs forced him perimeter and was willing to see if other Cavs players could beat them. Last season in the Spurs/Lakers series, the Spurs plan was to play Kobe with single coverage and stay on everyone else and it backfired.

Yes that team was bad. The starting backcourt was Eric Snow and Larry Hughes. Some of the role players (Gibson and Z) stepped up that year, but that team had no business even winning the East.

No when the Cavs lost against the Celts and Spurs LeBron also didn't play like LeBron. But the fact that his team even advanced far enough to play those teams based off the talent he had around him was telling. He had no 2nd option, a backcourt that couldn't shoot, and a coach with no idea of how to make an offensive scheme. LeBron deserves blame for laying an egg too, but based off the team he had its easier to excuse than last years Lakers or the 04 Lakers with Shaq, Karl Malone, and GP. Do you disagree?

So if Kobe had willed the 06 or 07 Lakers to the finals with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown and then had a bad finals series you'd be ripping him as much as you do Bron? I didn't think so. The level of his teammates do make a difference. If Bron struggles with this team in the playoffs as much as he did in the past I'll be the first to rip him on it. The question is what will you do?

I'm sure that a ton of other guys who played in the '70s, '80s, and early '90s would have been more unpopular had the internet been more relevant.

I thought parts of that article were good but then again he says he doesn't know Kobe personally. I don't know how he acts off of the court, but some people can change. Of course, he could still be an ******* and that wouldn't surprise me at all.

The part I dislike about Kobe is that sometimes I think he plays basketball for the accolades and not for the love of the game. I know he loves basketball, but when he gets caught up in individual accolades and coaches' comments it affects the way he plays.

plus those types of cases do nobody anygood, even if he is proven right the publicity and facts about his life, her life and anyone else that gets dragged through the mud during the trial is just horrid... better to settle the case and put it to bed... not an uncommon approach by many high profile people who have dealt with these types of things.

It's natural for players to hate the players who beat them. Teams hate Kobe because they wish he was on their team, whether they say so or not. No matter how much they hate him right now, if he was playing for their team they'd love it.
