Vulcan / Gabriel Summers

Vulcan first appeared in X-Men: Deadly Genesis #1 written by Ed Brubaker, a story which ran from January to July 2006
Powers and abilities
Vulcan is a mutant with the ability to manipulate limited amounts of energy. In addition to traditional energies of the electromagnetic spectrum Vulcan has displayed control over exotic energies such as Cyclops' optic blasts and magical energy.
He has used his powers to produce light, heat, force, and electricity, as well as warp or disable limited amounts/kinds of existing energy sources, tap into and suppress mutant energies, survive in the vacuum of space, and fly. Outside a planetary atmosphere his flight speed can even reach near the speed of light. He is able to go without food by directly absorbing energy for a long time. He can manipulate electricity within a person's brain.
He can also use the powers of others by manipulating the energy in their brain. When he uses his powers, his eyes glow. Emma Frost, Rachel Summers and Professor Xavier have confirmed him to be beyond an Omega-level mutant. However Omega-level already denotes unlimited potential, making "Beyond Omega level" redundant. He has been confirmed as an Omega-level mutant in Uncanny X-Men #483, his powers elevated to said level thanks to absorbing a massive amount of mutant

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
Well, I was going to pick Vulcan to go with Spider-Man's persona and Thor's God-like power, but instead I'll just have to settle with the Eternal Ikaris
As an Eternal, Ikaris possesses a number of powers far beyond those of normal humans, including:
Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, and reflexes.
Levitation of himself and/or others through mental control
Ikaris has the ability to manipulate cosmic energy, granting him virtual invulnerability and the ability to project cosmic energy from his eyes or hands in the form of heat, light, or concussive force. Like his entire race, extended usage will greatly deplete him.
Ikaris has total mental control over his physical form, granting virtual immortality, including immunity to disease and aging, and regenerative powers. Note: As long as the Celestial technology tasked with keeping him alive functions, Ikaris is given a new body when the old one is destroyed.
Limited psionic ability to manipulate matter at an atomic level; When a prime Eternal this ability is greatly enhanced
Limited psionic powers, including illusion casting, mind-reading, telepathy, and telekinesis;
Creation of force shields around himself and/or others;
Teleportation of himself and others, but finds it unpleasant.
Superhuman sensory perceptions, far greater than those of most Eternals.
Ikaris can basically do it all. Not only that, he's also suitable to lead my team.

Blackheart

[IMG]http://www.cannonspike.com/CamFan/capcom/vs-games/mshvsf-blackheart.gif[/IMG]
Blackheart is a powerful demon of the highest order, created by Mephisto, probably from the essence of Darkforce. He possesses vast inherent supernatural powers, including superhuman strength, speed, and endurance which are magical in nature. He's totally invulnerable to anything except the most powerful forces in the universe. He also has telekinetic and telepathic powers, and can levitate, teleport inter-dimensionally, change his size and physical form, enter and leave different planes of existence and dimensions at will, heal himself at the sub-molecular level, and has the ability to generate various forms of energies for destructive purposes such as powerful concussive blasts of black energy. He also possesses very high intelligence that makes him near-omniscient. Unlike his father, he can capture a soul against the will of the person he is stealing it from. Blackheart has demonstrated the ability to control millions of minds at once while in Hell, as he is able to call forth armies from the pits. He has also shown his telekinetic powers by ripping an entire planet apart by the force of will. Blackheart is also able to control Darkforce Energy without any limits. He can teleport himself and others to the Darkforce Dimension where he is literally omnipotent and omniscient.
His ability to regenerate makes him virtually immortal. His powers are immense making him one of the most powerful demonic entities in Marvel Universe.

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel derives his various powers from seven elder beings, all of whom form part of an acronym in the name Shazam. From the Hebrew king, Solomon, he derives great wisdom. From the Greek hero Hercules, he derives tremendous strength. He gains stamina from Atlas - a contemporary of Hercules. He gains power from the Olympian God Zeus, courage from the Hellenistic warrior Achilles and swiftness from the Greek God Mercury.
Magically bestowed aspects of various mythological figures which includes super strength, invulnerability, super-speed, flight, fearlessness, and vast wisdom/enhanced mental perception.

Adam Warlock

As Him, Warlock possessed superhuman strength, stamina, agility and the ability to manipulate cosmic energy to enhance physical strength, endurance, and powers of recuperation (capable of creating a cocoon around himself for self-preservation and regeneration). The energy could also be used for energy projection, flight, and to detect natural space-warps in order to traverse interstellar space. Once Him became Warlock and acquired the Soul Gem, he no longer used many of his cosmic-based abilities and often relied on the Gem's power in combat. The Soul Gem is host to the Paladin of the Soul Gem, and has been known to act in the interests of self-preservation by drawing the soul from Warlock's opponents.
Years later when reemerging from the Soul Gem, Warlock appeared to have enhanced abilities in terms of both his physical capabilities, cosmic awareness and capacity for metaphysical manipulations, such as his granting of enhanced strength to Gamora and Pip in their new bodies. Warlock can, however, now create forcefields around himself and others, manipulate metaphysical energy, travel faster than light and detect wormholes and other irregularities in space.

Doctor Fate:
Doctor Fate possesses a variety of mystical powers. In general, even without wearing the Helmet of Nabu, the host can fly, is highly resistant to injury, has minor telekinesis, and has greater-than-human strength.
In all of his incarnations, Doctor Fate is an accomplished sorcerer, and at his most potent able to match most other wizards in the DC Universe.
In various incarnations, Fate can emit bolts of mystical energy, teleport across the universe, craft solid objects out of energy, and transform objects into other kinds of matter (transmutation). Prior to the events of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, he could travel between alternate Earths at will, one of a very few DC characters with this capability. The full limits of his magical skills are unknown, and have varied greatly from one incarnation to the next as well as depending on the needs of the story. For example, in Swamp Thing (vol. 2) #50 (July 1986), he slays the demon Abnegazar of the Demons Three with very little effort.
Powers and abilities
Juggernaut is a magical avatar of the supernatural entity Cyttorak; he gained superhuman powers through the transference of mystical energies from Cyttorak via a magical gemstone, the Ruby of Cyttorak. (Because of his association with the X-Men, Juggernaut is often mistakenly labeled a mutant.) The ruby bonds to his soul and alters his being, a scale of power rivaling that of Thor, and the Hulk.
The Juggernaut originally possessed superhuman strength that rivals that of Hercules.[17] He has slammed Thor through a stone wall [18], almost collapsed the X-Mansion accidentally on multiple occasions,[3][19] and knocked down a skyscraper.[20] In an incredibly weakened state, he has been strong enough to rip off and wield the entire corners of buildings as giant weapons.[21] At varied degrees of less than full strength, he has strangled Rogue with one hand while fighting off Colossus with the other,[4] and held his own against Prime.[22]
Besides giving him superhuman strength, the mystical energy of Cyttorak grants the Juggernaut completely inexhaustible stamina, and the ability to survive without food, water or oxygen. He possesses tremendous durability, and can further protect himself through a practically indestructible force-field. It has even withstood Thor's "god-blast",[23] which has been able to pierce the armour of a Celestial.[24] Juggernaut has likewise proven resistant to Wolverine's adamantium claws,[25] and the cosmic blasts of Stellaris.[26]
The Juggernaut has the mystical attribute of being physically unstoppable: Once in motion, virtually no obstacle or force is able to impede his movement.

Powers and abilities
Following his exposure to cosmic radiation and subsequent "death," Henshaw's consciousness survives in an electronic state, making him virtually indestructible as he can transfer his electronic consciousness into any nearby machine (and even some that are light years away). Henshaw is able to 'inhabit' any machine or technology and manipulate said devices as though they are living metal. He can animate machines, construct any technological device, and control any mechanical system. In addition, Henshaw's 'Cyborg' body possesses a various number of other mechanical sensors, and has the ability to interface with any machine. His technological components can transform into a myriad of weapons and tools - since his first appearance as the Cyborg Superman, Henshaw has consistently manifested his technical half in that manner.
Thanks to his interactions with Superman's birthing matrix, Henshaw possesses knowledge of both Superman's Kryptonian genetic code and Kryptonian technology. This information allows him to construct cyborg bodies with organic portions that are genetically identical to Superman and mechanical components built from Kryptonian (and later, Apokoliptian) alloys. Using Superman's genetic code gives the Cyborg access to all of Superman's powers, such as high levels of superhuman strength, speed, and durability; super acute senses; x-ray, heat/laser, and infrared vision; and ultrasonic hearing, including, Superman's vulnerability to kryptonite radiation, which appeared to weaken both the organic and technological components of Henshaw's body, while also preventing him from altering his body. However, even though his organic half might be mortally weakened by kryptonite, the mechanical components of his body will allow Henshaw to still function, albeit without any of his Kryptonian powers. He may be immune to Kryptonite radiation, as he seemed to suffer no ill effects when he fought a Kryptonite-poisoned Superman (who was also emitting the deadly radiation himself.)
In addition to the powers he has because of his Kryptonian-Cyborg body, he also has been shown wielding ten Qwardian power rings and as such has access to all the immense powers they bestow. Among these powers are energy and matter manipulation; they allowed Henshaw to overcome Superman handily during the Sinestro Corps War.
Finally, Henshaw seems to be able to alter his "natural" energy attacks to affect specific foes. He has been able to defeat both Superman and Eradicator with a single blast, on several occasions. Normally he uses a weapon crafted out of one of his arms, but when pressed, he merely uses his eye-beams: either only his mechanical one, or both his Kryptonian eye and cybernetic one simultaneously.

Doomsday:
From wiki
Doomsday was created and evolved through cloning an infant and having it killed over and over again by one of the most dangerous species of the universe and in one of the harshest habitats in existence, prehistoric Krypton. As such, he returns to life and becomes resistant or immune to what killed him before. After the Radiant killed him the first time they fought, Doomsday grew immune to the former's energy-projection, and even managed to withstand Darkseid's full Omega-Effect.[6] The amount of damage dealt to Doomsday determines the length of time it would take to fully recover. During his outwardly undamaged death at Superman's hands, he only needed some days to recover, but when Imperiex reduced him to a skeleton, it would take months.
Doomsday can also develop/evolve resistance from ordinary injuries. Superman once used a sound gun to greatly discomfort him, but Doomsday's auditory canals closed up, making him impervious to Superman's weapon.[6] Waverider once paralyzed Doomsday with chronal energy, but the second attempt backfired.[6] In essence, Doomsday gradually turns more invulnerable if not injured beyond his ability to recover, which is so far undefined. Doomsday has also developed weapons and abilities that counters the powers of an opponent. He managed to cancel out the pure-energy Radiant by slamming into him, and greatly extend his claws and develop a poison to strike Superman in flight and reel him in,[6] or breathe flames against the fire-sensitive Martian Manhunter.[7] Doomsday is covered by bony spurs providing protection to his few vital organs (brain, eyes, nervous system) and acting as weapons on his hands, elbows and knees.
Doomsday possesses extreme physical strength that possibly exceeds that of Superman, at one point enabling him to effortlessly stand his ground against the entire Justice League, including Superman and Orion.[8] He was able to break Superman's left arm with limited effort, as well as outmatch and beat Darkseid unconscious in physical combat.[6]
Doomsday is immensely resistant to heat, cold, and conventional damage, allowing him to survive on the most inhospitable worlds, or in the vacuum of space. His durability apparently also considerably exceeds that of Superman, as he was able to withstand Darkseid

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
My first DC character I pick...Mongul II!!!! Although he is usually portrayed using his powers of super strength, flight, and now the power rings, his use of the black mercy may be his most dangerous. All he has to do is get within range of any enemy and they can be taken out of the fight with his "Black Mercy" plants. He is one of the most dangerous villains out there.
Mongul II, his progeny, demonstrated his strength to be more powerful than that of his father, as he held his own against Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in Infinite Crisis # 1 and killed his own sister with one blow in Green Lantern #9. Both incarnations of Mongul were also capable of projecting extremely potent energy beams from their chest.
Mongul often uses a parasitic plant-based life-form called the "Black Mercy" as a sort of weapon. This parasite has the ability to totally immerse a victim in a fantasy world. It does so simply by wrapping itself around the victim. These parasites have also demonstrated an unusual amount of durability at times; sometimes to the point where they appear to be nearly indestructible.
Since the aftermath of the Sinestro Corp War, Mongul II has obtained a Yellow Qwardian Power Ring, as such he now has all the powers that come with wielding such a weapon. He went on to kill at least 5 other Sinestro Corps members and has received a total of 6 Yellow Power Rings in total, making him a powerful threat. Recently in DC comics an advertisement has been seen with Mongul wearing green and yellow power rings with a red ring suspended over his outstretched hand with "Domination" printed below.
Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
I'll follow my teammate's wishes and use our fourth round pick on Quasar

Quasar's powers are derived from the pair of Quantum Bands fused to his wrists. Foremost amongst these powers is the ability to tap into a limitless source of potential energy called the Quantum Zone. Quasar can project quantum energy in the form of devastating beams of force or heat, but more commonly employs them to fashion incredibly durable constructs of solid energy in any shape he can visualize, such as containment spheres or pincers. Once they are formed he no longer has to concentrate on them to keep them intact. He protects himself with a personal force field of quantum energy.
The Quantum Bands can also exert control over many other types of energy that are part of the electromagnetic spectrum. He can siphon energy from virtually any power source. For example, Quasar once tapped into a sun and caused it to emit an enormous solar flare. He can also absorb and redirect the cosmic energy wielded by such powerful beings as the Silver Surfer, Jack of Hearts, Adam Warlock, Thanos, Phoenix and the Watchers, siphoning their power and using it to augment his quantum energy.
Although he cannot overtly affect psionic energy, Quasar has programmed his bands to render him impervious to protect his mind from psionic attack or takeover.

He has been described as capable of ripping planets from their orbits, and collapsing "the heart of stars" with his bare hands. Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
I pick: Exodus

He is one of the top 5 most powerful telepaths in the Marvel Universe, having matched Xavier and X-man at times.
He also has the standard telepath arsenal includin astral projection, telekinesis and he also can teleport.
He can also heal and sometimes bring people back from life.
Once, when severely weakened, he acted as a "psionic vampire", absorbing and stealing psionic energy from those around him and using it to his own advantage to reenergize himself.
In the presence of the loyal Acolytes his powers have appeared to be greatly amplified. He showed himself capable of simultaneously:
1. Amplifying Genoshan mutates' hatred of humans
2. Crushing Genosha via a massive force field
3. Immobilizing Quicksilver, the Scarlet Witch, Crystal, and Jean Grey in another force field
4. Mentally resisting Professor X's telepathic control
5. Protecting himself from physical attacks
6. Dealing out damage to both the X-Men and the Avengers
He is also extremely durable, having lived since the 12th century.
Every team should have a telepath for communications/defensive purposes. Exodus also serves as a healer.
I don't think he will come in much conflict with my other members, even if Exodus has been portrayed as a villain. Exodus really is just fanatically dedicated to Magneto's cause, and he is not malevolent in nature. He would get behind my team's dedication to survival and winning the fight and will be a great team asset.

^^^ I'd hit that...:D
so would your team, making their powers worthless...

Mystique is a mutant shapeshifter with the ability to psionically shift the formation of her biological cells at will to change her appearance and thereby assume the form of other humans. She can also alter her voice to duplicate exactly that of another person. Originally, it was clearly stated that Mystique's powers were limited to appearances only; she could not assume the powers of the people she morphed into or alter her body to adapt to different situations. In addition, she could not change her overall body mass when taking on the appearance of a person larger or smaller than she is.
Her body is not limited to purely organic appearances. She has the ability to create the appearance of clothes out of her own body. Mystique was shown in at least one instance transforming a metallic part of her costume into a functioning blaster pistol. Whether this was a function of her powers or of the costume piece itself is unclear. She can transform part of her body into a separated, clear and hard substance that appears to be glass, as she does when she appears to be wearing glasses.
As a side effect of this power, her natural aging process has been suppressed (if not completely halted), as she has retained her youthful appearance despite being alive for over one hundred years.
This changed in 2001's X-Men Forever miniseries, in which Mystique was exposed to dangerous levels of radiation in order to save the life of Toad. The process morphed Mystique's appearance to match her more reptilian physique from the 2000's film trilogy, and boosted her powers so that she could now morph her body into taking certain desired physical traits depending on her situation at the time. Examples of this new ability include night vision, wings on her back, talons in her fingers, and natural body armor. She can even compress nearly two-dimensional like a sheet of paper to glide on air currents, similar to Mister Fantastic, which she uses to survive an explosion. She has moved her vital organs out of place in order to survive a gunshot to her torso. She has, once with strain, given herself two heads and four arms to facilitate a gun fight on two fronts, as well as shapshifted into herself as a child.
Damage to her biological tissue is known to heal at a relatively fast rate and she can form a resistance to poisons upon contracting them. Recently she has stated that her body mass is not fixed and can change when she does.[42] While she retained her advanced powers, she now appears in her old form without scales. Her powers grant her immunity to diseases, agelessness and enhanced agility.
Mystique is a cunning strategist in terrorist and commando operations, and adept at martial arts and information technology. She has a talent for finding, stealing and understanding cutting edge weaponry. She is a talented actress. She has some natural resistance to telepathic intrusion and wears devices to prevent her mind from being read by telepathy.

TEAM ~primetime~ selects:
Johnny Blaze

^^^ fantastic art there...
The Ghost Rider is a human who can transform into a being with a flaming skull and supernatural powers. The motorcycles he rides can travel faster than conventional motorcycles and can perform such seemingly impossible feats such as riding up a vertical surface, across the surface of water and leaping across great distances that normal motorcycles could not match. The Ghost Riders are notoriously hard to injure by any conventional means, as bullets and knives usually pass through them without causing pain. The Ghost Riders possess superhuman strength, enough to easily pick up a motorcycle and hurl it across a room. It has been stated that Johnny Blaze as Ghost Rider can press around 5 tons (or more as seen in World War Hulk ).[3]
Each Ghost Rider entity also had abilities specific to him.
Johnny Blaze - Originally when Blaze transformed into Ghost Rider, his body changed but not the clothes he was wearing. In his new incarnation, this is different and his clothes take on a darker, more sinister appearance with a spiked leather jacket and chains. As Ghost Rider, he can cause his motorcycle to transform and surround itself with hellfire or he can create a new cycle from pure hellfire. He is also capable of projecting hellfire as a weapon. Hellfire "burns the soul" without leaving physical injuries on the victim and its effects have been seen as similar to the "Penance Stare."
In his new incarnation, Blaze is now possibly the most powerful hero on Earth. During "World War Hulk" it was stated by Dr. Stephen Strange that Ghost Rider was more powerful than the Hulk and could defeat him, but wouldn't because Ghost Rider only defended the innocent and the Illuminati wasn't innocent. Ghost Rider also has the "Penance Stare" and mystical chain, both of which were specific to the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider. He also now has new abilities including hellfire breath and the ability to produce chains from either his throat or chest. He is also now able to travel between the incorporeal realms.
Daniel Ketch - When Ketch transformed into Ghost Rider, his clothes changed with him, taking on the appearance of a spiked leather jacket with chains, gray leather pants and spiked gloves and boots. Likewise, his motorcycle underwent a radical transformation, changing from a conventional into a high-tech motorcycle (This transformation was not strictly limited to the motorcycle he found in the cemetery as he was once seen to be able to transform another cycle in "Ghost Rider/Wolverine/Punisher: Hearts of Darkness"). Along with flaming wheels that allows the bike to nearly fly across surfaces, the bike included a shield-like battering ram on the front.
As the Ghost Rider, Ketch used a mystical chain which responded to his mental commands. It could grow in length, alter direction while in the air, stiffen into a staff or spear, and separate into several links which can strike like shrapnel and then return to their original form. Daniel's most famous power was the Penance Stare. By locking eyes with a target and mentally focusing, the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider was able to make the target experience all the pain they had ever inflicted on anyone else. This ability was seen to have little effect on some people who were mentally unstable (such as the being known as Madcap. Ghost Rider was also knocked out when attempting to use the Penance Stare on Carnage).
Originally, this incarnation of the Ghost Rider could only be summoned if Danny was present when "innocent blood was spilled" (an innocent simply being threatened was not enough), at which time Danny had to touch the gas cap of his motorcycle for the transformation process to occur. Later, he was able to summon the Ghost Rider without touching the gas cap, but still needed to wait for innocent blood to be spilled. Later still, he was able to summon the Ghost Rider by will.

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
I pick: Sue Storm "The Lady Knight of Light"

Basically Sue Storm can manipulate energy and light in various (extremely deadly and efficient) ways.
She can bend light to make herself (and her teammates) invisible, giving my team a huge advantage in the field.
She can create forcefields that have cracked Celestial armor and withstood Thor's lightning.
Sue can shape her force fields into invisible 'constructs,' usually simple shapes such as barriers, columns, cones, cylinders, darts, discs, domes, platforms, rams, ramps, slides, and spheres, though in other situations she has created more complex shapes such as a sword and offensive grappling hooks.
She can kill almost anyone by creating little microscopic force bubbles in their brains and giving them an aneurysm.
Her force field generating ability makes the Invisible Woman (arguably) the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four and one of the most powerful Marvel characters, and their deadliest enemy Doctor Doom has commented on many occasions that Sue is the most dangerous of the foursome.

Sue is a great team player. Providing stealth when needed for my whole team, she and GL can make any construct needed for the situation, and can both provide some of my softer heroes (Batman) some much needed protection. She is also EXTREMELY lethal with her energy constructs. Another great team player, and the first female knight to enter the Knighthood.

Iceman
Iceman possesses the power to radically decrease the temperature of ambient water vapor in his immediate environment, thereby freezing it into ice. In this manner he is able to quickly form a great variety of ice structures, including projectiles, shields, ladders, baseball bats, etc. He often makes ice slides which form rapidly beneath and behind his feet, pushing him along the slick surface at high speeds. Originally, Iceman's own body temperature would lower dramatically when his powers were active, reaching −105

With the 4th pick in Round 5, Doom's Angels select...

Jen Walters aka She Hulk
Like her cousin, Jennifer possesses great strength, durability, endurance and a healing factor. Unlike her cousin, she almost always retains her full intelligence and personality as She-Hulk. She is also able to switch from She-Hulk to Jennifer Walters, but does not always have control of her transformation. In the past, Jennifer's inability to switch forms was due to a psychological block. Jennifer has learned a Ovid body-switching technique, but rarely uses it.

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
With the 5th selection in the 5th round, pete's montreux drafts:
Cassandra Nova

A telepath comparable to the likes of Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, and Emma Frost.
The mummudrai are usually forced to fight with the mind of their host over a body. However, given the vast potential in Xavier's genome, Cassandra Nova was able to build her own body, mimicking human traits as best she can. Cassandra Nova is able to access the full spectrum of latent mutant functions in Xavier's genome (she seemingly has the powers of Charles Xavier, the ones he could have and the ones he might receive as a result of latent mutation), granting herself vast psionic powers[6]. These powers include telepathy, telekinesis and a phasing ability. She was able to block the considerable telepathic abilities of Charles Xavier, create psionic armor, disintegrate the complete tissue of Wolverine's arm and make her body completely intangible to an extent that even allowed her to withstand a direct blast from Cyclops[7]. She has all the powers of the "average" mummudrai as well, which are astral projection and mental possession. Her telepathic capabilities are so advanced that she was able to hide her possession of Charles Xavier's body over quite some time despite directly interacting with considerable telepaths like Jean Grey, Emma Frost and the Stepford Cuckoos at the same time. Cassandra can also manipulate the DNA she has copied to act as a rapid healing factor or to mimic the voice and DNA of others.
First using her DNA copying ability, she mimics Donald Trask III, a relative of Bolivar Trask, so that she can voice command the Sentinels, who obey the Trask family line, to attack Genosha.[8] |

With our fifth round pick, Intrinsic/DreamShake will draft DC's Faith

Faith was a female hero with tremendous psychic powers. She was often nicknamed by her teammates “the Fat Lady”, a reference to the line, “its not over until the fat lady sings’. When Faith was required in the combat zone, it truly was over.
Powers
Her powers are psychokinetic and telepathic in nature.
Telepathy: ability to read minds of others and project thoughts. Also allowing from telepathic communication between two or more individuals over vast differences.
Psychic Blast: She has used psychic energy as a projectile.
Aura of Confidence: Batman has long noted her ability to create an aura of trust and confidence within the people around her, allowing a group to work together easily.
This may be her most vital asset to our team. With this ability, Faith will unify our team under the leadership of Cap allowing them to reach their full potential as a single unit.
Psychokinesis: She has shown the power to levitate both enemies and inanimate objects. The limits of her powers are unknown, but she has been seen raising entire skyscrapers when needed and she once destroyed an entire fleet of alien space ships (though the effort left her exhausted).
Flight: ability to propel herself through the air unaided by telekinesis
Teleportation: ability to teleport entire groups of people by telekinetically moving them between two points in space.

Cyclops will be my on-field squad leader. He has had extensive experience leading teams for his entire career. He commands obedience and loyalty in battle, even from those who don't even like him very much. The power of his optic blasts are just icing on the cake to his tactical genius.
] Powers and abilities
Cyclops has the power to emit beams of energy from his eyes. Although the beams have the appearance of red light (i.e., electromagnetic radiation in a red wavelength), they do not heat objects but instead deliver tremendous concussive force. Some accounts describe Cyclops' eye beams as the product of his body metabolizing sunlight and other ambient energy (much as his brother Havok metabolizes cosmic radiation) and releasing this energy in the form of beams (hence in some stories Cyclops depletes his body's energy reserves and needs to recharge through exposure to sunlight). Other accounts suggest that Cyclops' eyes may contain apertures to another dimension, releasing powerful energies from that dimension into his own in the form of beams. Whatever their exact source, these beams or 'optic blasts' are tremendously powerful, able to rupture steel plates and pulverize rock. Depending on the amount of energy channeled, the beams can be released in various widths, appearing in enormous bursts on rare occasions. They have been observed to level a skyscraper, or can be focused tight enough to punch a pin hole in a dime. Cyclops' beams have also been demonstrated to reflect off certain shiny surfaces; in concert with Cyclops' intuitive sense of spatial geometry, this reflective quality of his beams allows him to bounce the beams off many different surfaces in rapid succession so as to strike a desired target from an unexpected angle. Summers is immune to the harmful effects of his own powers

Sinestro

Powers and abilities
Sinestro wields a yellow power ring that has powers comparable to that of a Green Lantern's ring (creation of yellow constructs, space flight, etc.). Built on Qward, it is powered by the emotional energy of fear, and its wielder must be an expert in inspiring and manipulating fear to use it. The yellow rings are charged by Manhunter androids that have yellow power batteries built into themselves, which in turn are connected to a large yellow Power Battery based on Qward. The rings have only one known weakness - The energy of the Blue Lantern's ring can drain its power, much like a Green Lantern power ring's previous weakness against yellow. Also, the yellow rings are not restricted from killing sentient beings as the Green Lantern's power rings were.

Powers and abilities
Cable was born with telepathic and telekinetic abilities, however, the extent to which he has been able to utilize these powers have varied dramatically throughout his appearances. Originally both were limited by his need to restrain his techno-organic infection and his powers were negligible compared to his more traditional fighting skills. However, following the subsidence of the infection they gradually increased to the point where they were similar in magnitude to those of Nate Grey, whom he is genetically identical to. At their height, he demonstrated the ability to simultaneously levitate the floating city of Providence and combat the Silver Surfer.[17]. Following that story, his powers were burnt out and he replaced both with technological substitutes. Later he states that both his telepathy and telekinesis have faded to nothing.[18]
During Messiah War, during the fight with his clone, Stryfe, Cable demonstrates the ability to hide others from Stryfe's mental view, implying that at least he retains some of his telepathic powers, whether he retains any telekinetic powers remains to be seen.[19]
His techno-organic body parts possess enhanced strength and durability, and his techno-organic eye gives him enhanced eyesight, allowing him to see further than a normal human and in the infrared spectrum. He is also able to interface his techno-organic body parts with machinery, using them to hack into computers, open electronic locks, and travel through time.

Psylocke

every team needs a token hottie.
Psylocke can generate a telekinetic katana, or direct her telekinesis through her fists to strike as if she had superhuman strength; she is also immune to telepathic probes and attacks. Psylocke's original powers were precognition, telepathy, mental bolts, mind control, and generating illusions. After Roma resurrected her, Betsy was briefly invisible to all mechanical detection devices. She could generate a "psychic knife" to stun or kill opponents. The Crimson Dawn gave her the power to travel via shadows, and to become virtually invisible in same. After swapping powers with Jean Grey, Betsy could fly, create force fields, move objects with her mind, and generate energy blades.

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
My 5th pick will be Proteus:
Proteus is a mutant that possesses a vast psionic ability to manipulate and alter reality. He existed in a state of pure psionic energy and could take possession of human bodies that his energies eventually "burned" out, killing them (including his own original body). Proteus also possessed telepathic abilities. His reality manipulation powers allow him to transmute matter and bend the laws of physics according to his imagination within a certain distance. Using this power he can easily turn a building into liquid, turn a vehicle into bees that attack at his mental command, transform energy into matter, manipulate weather, or strip a person of their mutant powers. He often reverses local gravity, opens fissures in the earth, and stretches people painfully into liquid shapes (they return to normal when he no longer concentrates on manipulating their bodies). Use of this ability tends to speed up the rate at which his body will burn out.
Proteus can enter and completely possess another living being. Only beings with metal in their bodies appear to be immune. The bodies of most beings burn out within hours or a few days, although a few have been known to last longer. Proteus could leave a body before it is destroyed, but he usually does not. No possessed person has been shown able to resist or break free of Proteus' domination. Proteus has access to all the memories of his host while he possesses them and after he has left the body. Proteus has occasionally exhibited some telepathy, perfect recall, and the ability to mentally download computer information.

Gambit

Had to go with my favourite comic book character ever at some stage.
Gambit is a mutant whose primary ability is the manipulation of potential or kinetic energy. This is manifested both internally and externally, energy charges his body giving him greater strength, stamina, and agility than any non-powered human, as well as being able to charge matter resulting in the violent and powerful explosion of said matter through touch. The objects that he charges explode with a force somewhat proportional to the size of the object, though a playing card is as powerful as a hand grenade in Gambit's hands. Gambit has the ability to charge living as well as non living matter, though this ability is the source of much controversy in Gambit's life as well as the continuity and nature of the character. He almost never charges organic matter. Gambit is skilled in card throwing with great accuracy, and all aspects of thievery. One of his trademark tricks is to hurl playing cards at an opponent, charging each card and turning it into a deadly projectile.
Gambit customarily wears a suit of highly articulated light body armor and his weapon of choice is a telescopic metal staff. He is extensively trained in martial arts, particularly French kick-boxing or savate, which coupled with his Thieves Guild training and natural mutant abilities, makes him a superhuman combatant. He is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, utilizing street-fighting techniques and acrobatics.
In his youth, Gambit was able to control all forms of kinetic energy, allowing him to charge all matter within his line of sight by mere thought alone, but his failure to control it caused him to turn to Mister Sinister. Sinister excised the portion of his brain stem responsible for his full mutant powers. Later, he returned to Sinister while he was in Victorian England, and had his grey matter surgically reimplanted, restoring his abilities to their full potential (which enabled him to return to the present day by transforming himself into living energy which joined with the kinetic flow of the timestream itself) until he burnt them out while fighting the New Sun. However, Sage then jump started his powers twice, first, when the XSE rejoined the X-Men and second, when she helped him heal his blinded eyes. It was later revealed that he had regained his ability to charge even organic and animated matter when he directly powered the kinetic-absorbing Sebastian Shaw with biokinetic energies in order to be able to destroy the Cronus machine of Mister Sinister.
While blinded for a period of time, it was shown that Gambit had the ability to foresee future events using his playing cards through tarot reading.
After Sage helped restore his vision, possibly by unlocking the further stages of his own mutation so that he could heal himself (by biokinetically stimulating his own cellular activity) as he did once (when he was speared through the chest in the Assassination Game), he has yet to demonstrate this ability again.
As the Horseman Death, Gambit showed the ability to convert inert materials into toxic substances, such as transforming breathable air into poisonous gases and also potentially the ability to ingest diseases and plagues similar to one of Pestilence's (Polaris') powers. He did not show his Death/Gambit powers in his reappearance as a member of Sinister's Marauders.
Gambit is fluent in various languages, primarily English and Cajun French, which he uses most often.

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
I'm going with Morph:
Morph's mutation to shape-shift has also made it so that his body is a Play-doh-like substance and he can reattach limbs after they have been severed. It has been stated that his body is composed of unstable molecules[citation needed]. He has also stated that his mutation gives him a high metabolism and makes him very hormonal[citation needed]. In one issue[volume & issue needed], Sasquatch said she was never able to detect a scent on Morph; Sabretooth stated the same while hunting Proteus in Morph's body, noting how, in a crowd of "normal" people, Morph stands out like a sore thumb to Sabretooth's enhanced senses, whatever the form the shape-shifter takes[volume & issue needed]. It also appears he has the ability to fly as demonstrated in Exiles #27. Due to his shapeshifting ability he does not wear any actual clothing, and he takes joy in pointing this out.
Even though Morph is a prankster who plays down his intelligence, he is actually deceptively smart. He has a Master's degree in computer engineering, which he earned at Xavier's Institute.
Upon choosing to work together and share his body with the energy mutant Proteus, Morph's powers appear to be amplified, at least enough to defeat a self-proclaimed god[volume & issue needed]. Whether the two have access to Proteus' reality changing abilities has yet to be determined.
Alone Morph isn't a powerhouse level character, but with the option of teaming him up with Proteus makes them/him extremely dangerous. The combination gives Proteus a consistent body to occupy while also increasing Morph's powers.
Oh, and I always loved his character with the X-Men. His laid-back temper, intelligence and sense of humor will be a welcome addition to my team.

Skipping HotSizzle...
I'm gonna go with Carnage
Powers and abilities
Main article: Symbiote
The alien symbiote endows Cletus Kasady with enhanced physical strength greater than that of Spider-Man and Venom combined[16] and shapeshifting abilities, project a web-like substance from any part of his body including the formation of a variety of weapons, and plant thoughts into a person's head using a symbiote tendril. Much like Spider-Man, Kasady has the ability to cling to virtually any surface. He can rapidly crawl, walk, or run across even slick surfaces. He is able to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissues much faster and more extensively than an ordinary human. It isn't known, however, if he can fully regenerate severed limbs or missing internal organs. Kasady is also immune to the effects of all Earthly diseases and infections as long as he remains bonded with the symbiote. For instance, Kasady's body itself is riddled with cancer, yet the presence of the symbiote negates any effects the cancer would normally have. Like Venom, the symbiote is vulnerable to intense sounds and heat, and is undetectable to Spider-Man's spider-sense. Unlike Venom, Carnage can launch parts of his symbiote at enemies in the form of weapons such as spears, knives, axes, etc., although they disintegrate into dust within seconds of leaving Carnage's body.[volume*&*issue*needed] Venom's costume cannot replenish itself and is a definite mass while Carnage is constantly forming new molecules.[volume*&*issue*needed] Carnage's symbiote is vampiric, feeding on and thus endangering his victims by mere touch,[17] and also has the power to "see" from any part of itself and relay the visual information to Kasady.[18] During the 'Maximum Carnage' storyline, Carnage reveals that his symbiote has developed an immunity to sonic attacks. It still retains a vulnerability to heat
He might not fit well with my team... but will let the beast out of the cage when the $hit hits the fan.

Mister Sinister possesses a vaguely defined set of powers due to experimentation by Apocalypse and having copied mutant genes into his own body, including enhanced strength, speed, durability and longevity, energy blasts and teleportation. Sinister has formidable mental powers; Exodus once referred to him as one of the five most skilled telepaths he knew of. He also seems to be in possession of some telekinetic abilities he utilizes for levitation. His malleable form grants him almost complete immunity to pain including a pseudo-healing factor and the ability to change his appearance and shape.
He is also a scientific genius, with expertise in genetics, cloning and engineering.

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
Im gonna go with Firestorm. His can transform any inorganic matter into whatever else he wants. This is going to be huge when fighting guys like Ion and Superman. Everything around them will be turned into kryptonite or lead
Firestorm has the ability to rearrange the atomic and subatomic structure of matter, rearranging subatomic particles to create objects of different atomic characteristics of equal mass. He can not only change the atomic composition of an object (e.g., transmuting lead into gold of equal mass) but he can also change its shape. He cannot, however, affect organic matter. If he does there may be painful, even lethal, feedback. This organic limitation does not extend to his person as he can change himself at will, allowing him to regenerate tissue, to shapeshift, and to survive indefinitely without food, water and air. Much like a Green Lantern's limitations, Firestorm can only create items the "driver" of the Firestorm matrix is able to understand the workings of. Unlike a Green Lantern's creations, Firestorm's alterations are permanent unless he reverses them.
if they are on par with superman/doctor strange/ion/thor/hulk/mongul etc then they are a powerhouse. if they are zipping around galaxies on their own power they are a powerhouse. if they are bending time/space/reality at whim they are a powerhouse.

Re: Official Marvel/DC Team Draft Thread
I will use our sixth round pick to draft our final powerhouse character in the master combatant Orion, son of Darkseid

Orion possesses superhuman strength, speed, stamina and durability, on par with his father Darkseid [4], as well as with Superman [5]. He has access to a Mother Box that can calm his temper and temporarily change his appearance. In addition, Orion also possesses a regenerative healing factor, and is able to call upon his Mother Box to assist in healing injuries or to sustain his life energies. Like all other New Gods, Orion is vulnerable to a substance called Radion. The "Astro-Harness" is an alien artifact of unknown origin, capable of self-repair; flight; energy projection and absorption; force field generation; and possesses a tractor beam. Orion's wristbands are also virtually indestructible.[6]
Orion also is able to harness an interdimensional energy called the "Astro Force". While Orion himself is a conduit for the Astro Force, he can use either the Astro Harness or his wristbands as a valve through which he can project this energy . He uses the Astro Force primarily as a weapon, but once he was shown to be able to use the Astro Force to create an energy shield powerful enough to deflect Darkseid's "Omega Effect".[7]

pete's montreux selects:
Henrique Manuel Gallante/Asylum/Darkling
Gallante is a mutant with the psionic ability to tap into the dimension of the Darkforce, an energy based on darkness. So powerful is his access that Gallante was able to open a rift the size of Manhattan between his dimension and the Darkforce's. Although initially Gallante could not consciously control the Darkforce he released, it would often act as a part of his subconscious desire, such as flooding and destroying the world or releasing the dark impulses of others. He could surround himself in Darkforce, creating a separate, giant-sized body, and could manipulate masses of Darkforce as he desired, creating shapes, tendrils, and blasts of energy. After regaining some control over his abilities, Gallante could even teleport himself and others by using his body as a portal to the Darkforce Dimension. Once inside the dimension, Gallante
