So how tall was..........E. Boykins?
Guys are always obsessing over an inch or two!
No homo?
So how tall was..........E. Boykins?
Basically, take whatever he's listed at and subtract an inch and a half.
So if Kobe is 6'4 then Wade must be 6'2??
Jordan and Kobe are both 6'6
People have just got to stop posting pictures for height. Its just stupid. Has no one seen Lord Of The Rings? Do you really think they hired midgets and giants to play the roles????? Kobe's not as tall as MJ eitehr.
it was obviously an all-star photoshoot. magic was a participant in the nba shooting stars contest that year with the lakers.
If it was obvious I woulda...f*ck it. Thanks for answering my question. Still don't know why they'd randomly snap a flick of 2 All Stars and an old niqqa (Magic is my dude so don't trip) who was in some bullsh*t Saturday night competition. But thanks all the same.
Thread ought to be closed. All these superstars have their heights exaggerated an inch or two to make them seem larger than life.
Known fact.
They don't actually, JG000. About a third of the league actually underlists their height. Tim Duncan is listed 6'11", is actually 6'11.5", and in shoes is closer to 7'1".
There's confusion here because some people are talking about height with shoes, and others aren't.
Yeah, too many morons here. You can't compare someone's height IN SHOES with someone's height WITHOUT SHOES. That's like comparing one guy's height in feet and the other one in meters. How dense are some people...
How the heck does Magic man get 3 threads all dedicated to him?!?
NM FCUK ME.......its the off season.
Magic Johnson is 6'7" that was his listed height in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
Kobe Bryant is 6'5" or 6'4 3/4"
Incorrect. His height was listed as 6 -7 3/4. You have to realize that Americans fail badly at the metric system. He was listed as 2.03m which is in fact 6-7 3/4.
So how tall was..........E. Boykins?
SLAM Magazine supposedly measured him at 5-7 barefoot. It is claimed that he was listed at 5-5 in shoes by the NBA to overly exaggerate his smallness.
Kobe is 666
I am 6'4", barefoot...
DANG! Have any game? I think that would be my ideal height.
I am listed at 5'9" but am really 5'8" ... my x wife measured me at 5'7"
when will you idiots learn that every players height is exaggerated so it all evens it out..

It's what I do, baby.

if kobe is 6'6 tmac must be 4'6 :applause:
Always wondered about this.
Take a look at this also:

According to just about every source Larry Bird was 6
In Shoes
I guess people play barefoot then.
Bird always struck me as being closer to 6'10" than 6'9". He was at least 6'9.5" imo. Magic was probably between 6'7.5-6'8" tall.
Why i wonder is because Magic was the tallest player ever to start PG....
So if he really wasnt 6
Magic was more like Pippen`s height 6`7 3/4 almost 6`8 yet alot bulkier and heavier.
Jordan and Barkley are both 6`4 3/4 like Kobe (shoes...just below 6`6)
Mark Aguirre and Dan Majerlie where legit 6`6ers without shoes on (with on around 6`7).

This picture makes no sense. :lol
Is this another thread where we all obsess over height? :confusedshrug:
The whole "with shoes" crap is just stupid. Since when have players EVER played basketball without them?
I noticed the Dwight Howard is 2 inches shorter than Odom. So Dwight Howard must be like 6'8".
Maybe a little shorter. Dwight measured in similar to Cole Aldrich IIRC. 6'9+
It is also common knowledge that the baskets are not nearly at the 10' level. Cleveland's has been measured at 9' 3".
The FT line. In Detroit it is 12'.
3pt line. In Utah... 19' 9".
Half court. 35 ft in Oakland.
Full court. 63 ft in Denver.
You people are obcessed with height. If Magic is 6'8 1/2, it has no relevancy to his career, other than claimed height measure. Wethere he is truly 6'7 or 6'8 or 6'9, IT CHANGES NOTHING other than your opinion.
It does actually in a way... not so important, but still something. It changes the title of: "Tallest player to have ever started PG in the NBA".... takes a bit of his myths and stories in that sense. It will change those myths and legends...
If he really is 6

kobe may not be the tallest in inches
but he has the most inches where it counts :pimp:

ridicilous camera angle! hehe
Here is a better one:
Bird is 2" taller.

That just sounds so wrong in a way.... :oldlol:
As usual, people kill me.
EVERY basketball player ON THE PLANET is listed by his size with shoes on. i am 6'1 1/4 and i was listed at 6'2. With my shoes on, i am still 6'2. i tell people i am 6'2. thats just how its done.
In pics, we dont know who is slumping, on tippy toes, shifted their weight, slightly closer or further from the camera, etc.
You can adjust your height quite a bit based on those things i justnoted.
Anyone crying "magic was only 6'5" is a MORON.
Standing reach and wingspan are probably a better indicator than actual height. Ralph Sampson, who was listed at 7-4 (and as other's have pointed out here was probably 7-2) had very short arms. Bill Russell, at 6-10, reportedly had a taller standing reach than 7-2 Kareem.
Of course, then you can add the element of athleticism. A 6-5 player with a vertical of 44" will probably reach higher levels than a 6-10 player with a 34" vertical. Here again, though, you have to factor in wingspan, and standing reach, though.

The problem is some players had their measures done with shoes and others with shoes off. So it gives an erroneus
Barkley was 6`4 3/4 and with shoes on around 6`5 3/4-6`6
Magic was not 6`9 but around 6`7 1/2 to 6`7 3/4 same height as Pippen but way bulkier. That is what sometimes makes you look taller.
Bird was closer to 6`9 1/2 than 6`9
Karl Malone was just about 6`9 (little less maybe but over 6`8 3/4)
Tim Duncan is 6`11 1/2 as i always said watching him play. So he should be listed at 7`0 but he isn`t
Kevin Garnett is 7`0 1/4 around there but he doesn`t like to admit it. Actually that makes his old time game more impressive.
Just watch the games. So u can compare the players when they go by each other its easy to determine height.
Pau Gasol is close to 7`2 atleast. Bynum is a legit 7`0 ft dude.
Howard is 6`9 3/4 (yes and Bill Russell was 6`10 not 6`9..."That`s just to make his rebounding vs Wilt more special...but hey height isn`t everything to the game...it helps but its not a total factor)
Like these there are many....
Wow this thread is about inches
Johnson is 6'8.25" in his shoes ( 6'7").
Ralph might have been around 7`3 to be more exact
During the Michael Jackson Memorial, Magic was standing next to a 6'4" Kobe Bryant and didn't look more than an inch taller than him. I thought he was 6'9"?
