Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
it'll be a proud day in the entire nba if the wiz are able to waive gil's contract, but i doubt it happens. this headline made cnn's front page, best believe stern is coming down hard on these 2. imagine if Hamed Haddadi brought some ammo to an nba game.
-
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
This should be the end of both careers in the NBA if it is true. They will both probably get away with this by doing a few extra NBA-cares commercials though. Lame.

when will pro atheletes realize, YOU'RE NOT ****ING GANGSTERS, you were playing bball not selling bricks, plexico burress' stupid ass should be the prime example for these people, im glad you want to feel like badass and get a gun but you don't need one, why because you're stupid and have 0 street sense. and yes what he did is assault, pointing a gun at someone is assault unless you're justified, 50 cent is the smartest person i've seen that is black and a celebrity with **** like this, what does he do, hire off duty cops, they'll blast anyone that draws down on you, they're trained, and its all 100% legal. and yeah they should be fired, do you know any other job where you'de take a gun to ****ing work with you that the job doesn't require one, "god damnit bob, meet me in the break room, you owe me for our fantasy football league, *pulls gun out of desk*"

"Pardon me, Gilbert, but I believe that you must now honor your gambling debt and pay me the money I am rightfully owed."
"Alas, Javaris, that is not the case. I do not believe that I do in fact owe you any money."
"Again, Gilbert, I must insist that you pay me, as I wouldn't dare enter a new decade with this disagreement looming between us."
"Indeed, Javaris, unless we can agree to disagree, I must reluctantly show you this unloaded firearm that is contained within my personal storage area here in our employer's locker room."
"Ah yes, Gilbert. Allow us to then disagree, as I too would much enjoy retrieving my firearm as well. Shall we compare firearms, engage in some otherwise mildly threatening small talk and allow our ample frames to become, as it would be said, 'swoll'?"
"Indeed, Javaris. I would enjoy such a comparison, and I have not been 'swoll' in such a long time. Let us do as you have suggested."

Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
No way, this doesn't even sound real. I was laughing as I read the whole thing.
I like Gil, but stupid, stupid move if it's true, never pull a gun on anyone (even for fun and no Wizards ... or um Bullets.)
-
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
Is this some type of joke? :oldlol:
Damn, should've paid what you owed.

The NY Post reports.... I stopped there.
-
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
This takes competition to a whole new level.
-
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
So the other the other firearms thing Arenas was involved in was just a cover up for this maybe? True or not, Arenas somehow made him self even more untradeable than he already was, which is pretty insane
-
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
If Plaxico Burress got 2 years, won't these guys get big jail time in DC? :confusedshrug:
-
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
1. Why didnt he pull his gun on Shaq?
2. Gilbert is a volume shooter anyway, chances are he'd miss Javaris
3. Flip side to #2, if its Hibachi time Javaris is getting the whole clip
I doubt guns were pulled out, perhaps reached for at best or atleast the threat of doin so was made and everyone was aware those 2 were packing heat like Miami. Who knows, change the name back to the Washington Bullets.

Pro athletes have just as right to bear arms as you bruh. What are you talkin about? :confusedshrug:
guns should only be held by police, security and the military in America? Lots of pro athletes in all major sports own firearms. You only hear about those who own them and make poor judgements. These dudes financial status is made public. contracts, incentives/bonuses, endorsement deals, what gifts they were given, the top grossing athletes of the year. They dont have an idea how much me and you make. But we have a good idea how much they are atleast earning. Therefore they become prey for wolves who would like to get some of that $$$$ be it material or that green stuff.

:applause:
Stern is going to suspend both of these guys for the year. Could be even more serious than that. If he could he'd probably void both their contracts, but I doubt the PA would allow it.
Image wise this is a disaster for the NBA. Easily the worst thing to happen since the Detroit-Indy Brawl.
-
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
wow, what complete morons. arenas too me is a kid that has never grown up(not in the good way). the wizards should have cause to have them both kicked off the team and their contracts voided immediately.

Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
If this somehow gets us out of Gilbert's contract....

Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
Gilbert Arenas is considering suing the NY Post over their recent story claiming that he and Javaris Crittenton pulled guns on each other in the Wizards' locker room.
"That's not the real story," said Arenas. "I saw the story. Very compelling. Some real O.K. Corral stuff." The Post cited unidentified sources, so it's anybody's guess what actually happened, but this still lends a worrisome angle to Agent Zero's firearms fracas. Stay tuned.
Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
Wow, they could be facing some serious legal issues because of the strict DC gun laws. Also Arenas admitted to having guns in his locker to keep them away from his kids at home...why wouldn't you leave them in your car?
Disastrous year for Wizards.

Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
Bill Simmons has said a few times, the only way a real rivalry could be had in todays NBA is if..
1) Someone stole someone elses wife/gf
2) Someone refused to pay a gambling debt

Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
The story sounds a bit too ridiculous to be true, but you never know.
I do think that if the Wiz can prove this happened and that Gilbert was the first to draw a weapon then his contract will be torn up.
Washington owes him $96 million over five years - pulling a gun on a teammate easily gives them grounds to cancel a 100 million dollar debt.

i don't argue the rights to have a gun but there is absolutely no way these guys have permits to bring it outside their house. So if the purpose of them having a gun is to protect themselves outside the house, its asinine, be\cause if you pull the gun you are commiting a crime that will get you in more trouble than being robbed. Also, the gun can't protect you in those situationsw because you can't see it coming generally. A situation that you know you are goign somewhere where you can protect yourself with a gun, the probably better scenario is to no go to the place.
Again, not against having a gun, but outside of home protection its not helpful because you can't hold it out, or hold it legally, so it doesnt help.

I bet Sean Taylor's remaining family wishes he had (and was legally allowed to carry) a gun, maybe McNair's too, Albeiro Usuriaga (soccer player), and you can name literally hundreds more of instances of athletes being robbed at gunpoint, stabbed, shot at, although it's obviously anyone's guess as to where each situation would have gone had they been armed.

Re: Did Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton draw guns on each other?
The whole incident has actually been misunderstood. They were having a wet t-shirt contest in the locker room with some of the cheer leaders, with gilbert and crittenton holding the super soakers, when arguing over which one each would bang they starting squirting each other.
