i wonder if blatche holds a grudge against yi
when blatche was going for his triple double, he begged yi to let him get the rebound off of the free throw, yi politely declined
uh oh, drama :o
The trade is official:

I think Grunfeld is purposely focking with the Knicks. I honestly do. What the f-ck is he doing helping his COMPETITORS out?
So I guess if we ever have injuries Ross can start for the injured player. He is a pretty good defender if I remember correctly

ross is solid. he's a cheap 9-10 man and plays very good defense. i always liked him better than bobby simmons (i'm not sure if he's even still on the nets).

He just expired. Though Trenton was better than simmons anyway.

He's helping his own team- that is a great deal for the wizards- nobody is thinking about the knicks when building their own teams- maybe they think about the lakers or another good team but nobody should be worried about the knicks or nets capspace, right now that's nothing. Teams still have to build for themselves

you know grunfeld was fired by knicks, right?
PG: Harris
SG: Joe Johnson
SF: Lebron
PF: Favors
C: Brook Lopez
Bench:
Courtney Lee
This is some team. A little young, but certainly can contend in a couple of years.
yi is garbage, playing with john wall isn't going to change that

Any team with LeBron is a contendor especially with a center like Lopez and a player like Johnson.
for the bench dont forget about T-Will
Considering how much the Wizards are paying Yi this season, they really hit this one out of the park. I mean you gain a guy who is going to sell a million of your jerseys in a week, and your TV ratings will improve greatly as well. Yes Yi isn't all that great, but he's still 7 feet tall, and has the ability to average a double double. For a short term solution I think this was a great pickup for the Wiz.
how many players average a double double in pts-rbs? and you think Yi can? Nuts to you, sir
pshh... Yi is no Yao ming :violin: :violin:

Yeah. Brook Lopez would be the best big man LeBron has ever played with if that happened.
I was kind of surprised by this. I figured with the Nets global marketing scheme, they'd keep Yi and try and work him in to the system. I guess not. He doesn't really fit with Avery Johnson. The Nets are already going to have a logjam at the PF spot if they sign a big FA acquisition. Getting rid of Yi helps that.
Im not really a fan of all the moves that the WIZ having been making either to tell you the truth. The only good move in the past year has been drafting John Wall. To me when a team is looking to destroy and rebuild they should have at least put themselves in a position to be a major player in this free agency market. It seems as if they've just been racking up on players that teams have been trying to get rid of, but not players that would have significant impact on their future. IMO it's been a waste

Bobby Simmons is finally a free agent? God... it took so long before this day happen
By the way, who gave him that never ending contract?

T Will = Poor Man's Lebron
Though it is not inconceivable to think if Lebron comes, TWill will either be traded or play a Tony Allen role (which would further reduce his talents)

He's trying to help the Wizards get better, and he is doing that.
wizards give butler/haywood to make dallas a stronger contender
wizards give cavs jamison to make cleveland a stronger contender
wizards take hinrich to make bulls a stronger free agent player
wizards take yi to make nj a stronger free agent player
if they didn't luck out with wall there'd be heads rolling
First they cleared cap in order to get LeBron, Wade, Bosh, etc.
Then they got 1st pick, and suddenly they wanted to develop their own superstar and therefore they just took what they could get for free, Hinrich will be a good 'mentor' and hopefully Yi can come to use.
Wizards didn't really suppose they would get pick 1, so they had to change their plan.

yeah, i agree. the only move i wouldn't have done is the yi one.
Ok so right now the Wizards have (excluding J-Ho and Foye whom I think won't be there long enough):
PG - Wall / Gilbert?
SG - Kirk / Young
SF - Thornton
PF - Blatche / Yi
C - McGee
What an awful team. Does anybody know what they intend to do with GIlbert? Obviously he's still the better player but I think the fans and the franchise is sick with him and would be better off growing with Wall.

They're probably going to move Arenas to SG
PG - Wall
SG - Arenas
SF - Yi?
PF - Blatche
C - McGee
Or play Blatche as a C and Yi as the PF. Then again Blatche will probably screw it up and get arrested again.
Blatche is out for a little while I hear after surgery.
And you do not want Yi playing on the court.. let alone SF. He's a defensive nightmare as is, I can't imagine how bad he would be at SF.
