Thanks for some of the contributions, posted the "fun" ones on the original thread.
Jordanesque is a LeBron hater. He was the poster formerly known as Poseidon. The jerk has 5-10 accounts in this forum.
u used 5 account to neg me and u talkin about ppl having 5 account?
"I got a goal, and it's a huge goal, and that's to bring an NBA championship here to Cleveland, and I won't stop until I get it."
damn can't believe he said that and left cav the way he did.
He wouldn't be one of the greatest small forwards ever if he didn't have the mentality he has. That goes for all the great players.
I love how people criticize the guy, but seriously, get on his level.
Hes a multi million dollar one man franchise, and frankly, if I was that powerful, I'd say the types of things he does.

Your Stanning of Lebron is unhealthy man. Just stop before you end up like the dude in the video.
On second though....better yet just do like he did, drive off a bridge and do us all a favor.
If I was that powerful I'd be like this guy:

"That's what keeps me humble because I know my background, know what my mother went through. I never get too high on my stardom or what I can do. My mom always says and my friends all say,

well, that directv deal is too good to pass up. plus you get NBA TV with choice extra programming or higher.
frankly, if I was that powerful, I'd say the types of things he does.
That's your choice. But just for you to know: You'd still be an as*hole saying these types of things about yourself, regardless of the circumstances.
How come there have been a great many people contributing to humankind a lot more than LeBron has or ever will, and they didn't have to say these things about themselves?
I'm not hating on LeBron, but you have to be really 'strange' to talk about yourself te way he does. It is a not-so-minor personality disorder.
"I want to become the world's first billionaire athlete"
lol already happened with Tiger Woods

You can still be a big star and get paid millions and not come off like a moron.
My 3 favorite easily:
" A LeBron James Team is never desperate"
" I am taking my talents to South Beach"
" I am here to showcase my talents"
Regarding the dunk contest: "I am going to be in it."
some are funny
some are taken out context
some are cocky and arrogant but to be the best in the NBA, you really have to have a swagger about yourself that no one else can touch
to be the best in the NBA, you really have to have a swagger about yourself that no one else can touch
Why?
Can't you be someone like Hakeem, Duncan or Magic? Or at least as funny as Shaq while saying these outrageous things that everyone knows you are just kidding?
Noone could touch the aforementioned guys at one point in their respective careers and they didn't have to behave like this. BTW, all of them had more proof under their belt about their greatness.

duncan, magic and hakeem were all cocky too. they just chose to display their arrogance in different ways.
shaq is one the most arrogant players ever.... the man's ego outweighed his whole body weight.

I like this one. Says it better than I thought it.
But
"I don't care what they do to try and stop me. You can't stop the unstoppable force ya know? If they try to stop me I'm just not going to stop stopping them from stopping me stop them. "
:oldlol: :wtf: ?
He didn't really say that did he? If he did I need to update my fav quotes on my facebook. I got lost around the middle part but it is still funny.
get used to it Lebron fans, you gotta admit he has said some silly things. But sometimes things get taken overboard.
duncan, magic and hakeem were all cocky too. they just chose to display their arrogance in different ways.

It's not the arrogance about LeBron. It's his sheer stupidity. It is one thing to call yourself the Diesel or the Big Aristotle or even say "they can't guard me", than it is to say some of the things qouted in this thread from LeBron James.
And once again: All these players had a lot more to be cocky about (and I think they all were less cocky).

shaq is one the most arrogant players ever.... the man's ego outweighed his whole body weight.
Understatement of the decade! But I get what you are saying.
If you are great at something, and everyone tells you you are so great, it is only human nature to feel like you are great. If you wanna be great in the NBA, you must have this confidence in yourself that is considered arrogant.
Einstein was arrogant
Clinton was arrogant
General Washington was arrogant
Picaso was arrogant
Bird/MJ/Magic etc were arrogant

I think it is okay to bash his stupidy comments. Because quite frankly, he says some pretty stupid things.
But on the court Lebron does things that no one has ever done, or hasn't done in the NBA for a really long time.

stupid things in your opinion maybe but that opinion will definitely change if he wins championships. he backs up his arrogance on the court everytime. he is missing the ultimate accolade of course, but now he has a better chance to shut up the critics. other non elite (top 5) players talk in arrogance too but none have the talent level of lebron or as the other few elite players to truely back it up
and it is true. no one in the NBA can guard LeBron.
But on the court Lebron does things that no one has ever done, or hasn't done in the NBA for a really long time.
Sure, I've never said otherwise. He is a great player. This thread is about the quotes though.
stupid things in your opinion maybe but that opinion will definitely change if he wins championships.
No, it will not change my opinion. Jordan having been as great as he was didn't have anything to do with me changing to think he is a moron. And I saw his whole career. No, Magic and Hakeem or even Shaq weren't even close to as arrogant and full of themselves as Jordan was. Well, Shaq may have been if you take everything he said literally, but you know he was joking most of the time.
Not that I really mind. As for me, LeBron can say whatever the hell he wants. And he cares even less about me thinking that. :oldlol:
LeBron's a fool with it. His quotes are the greatest because he knows what he's saying and how he's saying it. He probably figures he's so good that it doesn't matter what he says or does. I grew up with people like that...they used to piss me off to no end. That's going to be his legacy and it's going to be funny to look back on it in 20 years.
March 28, 2007
Before the Cavaliers vs Knicks game, LeBron James, whose snickers cost around $120-$150 a pair, was asked about the idea of affordable $15 sneakers, endorsed by Stephan Marbury.
LeBron: "Growing up in the inner city, at times families can't afford $120 shoes. It's definitely smart on their part.''
Asked if the Nike $90 million man could see himself wearing these snickers:
LeBron: "No, I don't think so. Me being with Nike, we hold our standards high."
Marbury, who is friendly with James, was lacing up his sneakers before the game when informed of LeBron's comment.
Marbury: "I'd rather own than be owned."
The Knicks then beat the Cavaliers that night, 97 - 93.

Whoa!
P.S. added to the original thread part 2
He's always in a win win situation. :lol
LEBRON JAMES:
"In the life I live today, the way I am blessed, the way the man above has given me these God given abilities, there's no way I'm in a lose lose situation. Every day I wake up, see my family, my two sons running around just loving life, there's no way I'm in a lose lose situation. I'm going out here playing a game of basketball, the game I love, the game I played as a kid for free, and we still play for free.
So there's no lose lose situation for me here. I'm playing a game of basketball. And it just so happens we've got cameras and people writing about it. So until you understand who LeBron James is, LeBron James is in a win win situation and will continue to be in a win win situation."

Would there be a link to that? If so, I'd post it on the original thread.
Its strange though, whenever I hear him in interviews he seems humble and cool but whenever I read what other journalists write then he always sounds cocky. Could it be that the journalists like to report things out of context?
"I'm a retard"

I mean sure I guess. I mean what are the chances that ESPN, CBS Sports, FOX Sports, CNN, NBA Fanhouse, Sports Illustrated, or even GQ Magazine would all botch his words up?
I mean, some of the quotes even have videos. It's not like the TV crew botched their editing, or would they...?

Great comeback.

On a separate note,
Not quite sure why some people seem to be just a little upset.
These are all just coming from LeBron's own words after all, put into 1 convenient to read list.
If anything, they should all be a little more happy since they won't have to find it themselves, thanks to our little contributors at Hoops!
Yeah! Rock on little smiley!
Jordanesque is a d*ckless Wonder.
Says the flip.
These quotes are nothing. Lebron is a much better person than Michael Jordan, and he is still considered GOAT.
MJ was the most ruthless, selfish, demeaning, ego driven person to play in the NBA ever. Abusing team mates, punching them, disrespecting management.
Lebron and even Kobe don't come close.

Lebron23 is the biggest lbj homer (or might be bandwagoner) @ insidehoops.
So Lebron23 can't accept the truth like this.
