Is it an os or an actual phone?
an OS. have't decided which atual phone i want until they are released and the reviews starts trickling out. will probably get an HTC or samsung one though.
I know.. :(
zen, you CAN put windows phone 7 onto the HD2. there are customs roms out there that will let you flash the new OS onto it. you just need to hack it a bit. your hardware will support it just fine.
iphone 3gs

I still have the Motorola Droid since last December. I still love the phone, still highly customizable, and you can overclock to run between 1.0 to 1.25 Ghz to compete with current processor speeds even though it's rated at a 550mhz.
On a side note, the game Angry Birds is freakin' awesome! And the app, Applanet is awesome too.

overall its a good phone, not sure if it's just my phone but it does tend to lag quite a bit after i've been using it for a while. i use the gps every day....gets a bit hot as well.
Samsung Restore

It's a good phone but it's not reliable. I just had to get a new one since the last one I had broke last Tuesday (I had it for two months). I turned it off before a job interview, turned it back on and the screen would only light up after that. No home screen or anything. Sprint thought it was the battery, wasn't, got a new phone out of it.
Past three phones I've had have either been free or less than 20 bucks. They have been the most reliable phones for me. I spend a little bit more money on a nice looking phone and breaks within two months. And I lost all my contacts since freshman year of HS.
Go figure. Since when did phones start storing numbers on the phone instead of a sim card. Such bullshit.

Just got this a month ago. I like it as well. When it starts to lag, you just need to restart it. I use the Gps a lot too, it really drains my battery though.

T-Mobile HTC G2 (with HSPA+ aka 4G)

Had a G1 prior to this...the web browsing speed went from why do i even bother to holy shit this is awesome!!
Right now I have an LG env3.
Once my verizon contract ends (2 more months or so) I'm switching to Boost Mobile's Blackberry.
They used to only offer the 8330 (no wifi) but apparently they're now (or will
be soon) offering the wifi capable 8530.
I figure for 60 bucks a month flat rate for unlimited everything (including 3g data) it can't really be beat.
Can't wait to be done w/ verizon and 100 dollar cellphone bills where I only get a limited data plan...

Don't get why these are so expensive.

You have to change the option so it stores on the sim instead of just the phone. Or you can save it to where it gets backed up on yout srping account on the web.

I'll be upgrading soon though.

Have had that for about 1.5 years. When the iPhone comes to Verizon, I may switch to that though.

I went to Verizon and used this the other day. I'm glad I still have the original Droid. The MotoBlur-like overlay on the phone makes it really choppy and laggy. I hate that.

Same:rockon: The one thing I dislike though the the limited ROM space for downloading apps. Even with apps2sd not all apps can go to the SD so you're very limited...

My Touch!!
Looking at getting a new phone and as my Mother will be paying I can't have the most expensive contract on the market.
Thoughts on getting the HTC Desire now? A contract i've seen is 18 months long, think the Desire will be fine for that amount of time? I suppose I could always sell it during the contract and pick up another phone sim free...

I'd highly advise against the Torch, at least until they patch up some of the current glitches. I know some people who work at a logistics company that ships out RIM products across Canada and the amount of returns they've gotten on the Torch phone has apparently been heavy. The same thing happened with the Tour model (which eventually conformed to being a pretty solid product) but its not uncommon for the initial batches of phones or any piece of technology for that matter to have fixable issues...
As for myself, I'm currently kickin the Bold 9700 which has been worth every penny I paid for it... Thus far

It's a very good phone but if you live in the UK you already have the Desire HD out. To be honest though, buying anything now with Gingerbread (Android 3.0) imminent isn't a good idea. If you want something slightly cheaper than the Desire HD and something now, the Desire is an excellent choice save for one issue. The amount of memory on the device is very limited (123 Mb) so if you want to overflow your phone with apps it will be difficult.
