Re: King James Wants Erik Spoelstra To Bow To Him
^^^^ that brings up an interesting side note.
The Bulls team that won 72 games was talented no doubt. But the thing i remember about them is that they did not take plays off. They didn't take other teams lightly.
It was like they weren't playing the other team. They had a standard of play they had set for themselves and played to that standard all the time regardless of the opponent or the situation.
If they were playing an inferior opponent they would blow their doors off and then empty the bench. They wouldn't let a team hang around and then try to turn it on in the 4th. They were a wrecking machine.
Yet like 2 or 3 of their losses were to teams they had no business losing to ... like the expansion Raptors, etc.
The Bulls could've had an even better record than what they ended up with.

not really. they lost to a couple sh1tty teams that season. too lazy to look it up but someone can.
anyway, it's pretty hard to stay focused 100% for the entire season, but regardless, i agree that bulls team were as focused as any team could get.

Just because they lost to a crap team doesn't mean they weren't trying. Sometimes a bad team can get hot.
When the Hawks had their 13 win season one of their wins was a blowout of defending champion Detroit in Detroit. It happens.

Re: King James Wants Erik Spoelstra To Bow To Him
Woj really writes basketball stories as if he were a baseball writer - he writes like he's laying out a narrative rather than just providing the facts. The older sports all have writers like this, but he's one of the first national writers like this that I can remember for basketball. I like it personally. It makes the articles more interesting to read.
Wade was one of the Team USA players who’d watch incredulously as James would throw a bowl of fries back at a renowned chef and bark, “They’re cold!” Or throw his sweaty practice jersey across the court and command a team administrator to go pick it up. Everyone wants James to grow out of it, but he’s never showed much of an inclination for self-examination and improvement. And he’s never surrounded himself with people who’d push him to do so.
i'm a lebron fan since he came into the league and i truly believe that he is an asshole. but who wouldn't be, if he would be treated like that since he was in high school. he got everything he wanted from day one and was treated like a king. why don't behave like a king then? so i guess much of the stuff the media is pointing out is right but i don't believe an article which is obviously written very subjective just to bash lebron. don't believe everything the media is writing, wether it's pro or contra lebron. whoever wrote this article can't be considered as an professional journalist.
Re: King James Wants Erik Spoelstra To Bow To Him
LeBron does remind me a bit of a younger Shaq in his attitude issues.
The difference with younger Shaq I think was he was raised by an army dad. And army dad's don't take no sh-t. So while Shaq could occasionally get unruly, there was always a line to it.
I think I remember a story where Shaq was taunting Yao in the press, and it even got racial at one point, and Shaq's dad laid the smack down on him and Shaq manned up and apologized.
With LeBron ... y'know ... I don't think he's had that. You need an alpha male to coach LeBron because the guy has daddy issues unfortunately. Great basketball talent, but he still has some growing up to do.
And that is definitely on him. LeBron needs to mature. The first thing he should do is cut off Maverick Carter and his "entourage" of leeching "yes men" friends. If they wanna be your friends, fine, but never get into business with your friends.

Re: King James Wants Erik Spoelstra To Bow To Him
Woj once again telling it like it is. Good for him. I still think the best article he ever wrote was after game 5 against Boston last year. Total evisceration and it wasn't based on hate. No, that was just straight truth talking. Truth hurts to quote the cliche.
People misinterpret it as hate because they're perpetually bowing down to the "king" so much that they have LeBron's balls nestled all in their mouths. They simply can't believe there is 1 dissenter out there not taking LeBron's bull**** act.

He needs to become a Knick. All of his stuff off the court is irrelevant news in New York, espescially when you're productive.
LeBron would fit in fine.

Look at the history of work though. They is a definite vibe of animosity when he has to write a "negative" LeBron piece.
Seriously ... you don't see how people could dislike LeBron and his people? They're scummy.
Never said that. Why you got that from what I typed I don't know.
LeBron may or may not be a total scumbag. Still doesn't explain why WoJo takes such a personal slant when he writes a piece on LeBron.
Michael Jordan is a 100% grade A douche yet most writers give him a pass on it. The ones that don't normally have a story on why they take the personal angle on Jordan pieces.

Re: King James Wants Erik Spoelstra To Bow To Him
None of that matters. Not the coach, not even Lebron's bad attitude.
HEAT HAS NO POINT GUARD.
NO BIGS.
If Lebron is truely a cancer, trade him (and humiliate him) for a decent center + a decent point guard, or one really really good point guard (would wizards possibly part with John Wall)?
If not, then trade Chris Bosh.
They don't have the pieces or depth.
