Good, we just saved tons of money.
Morey loves trying to snag good young talent on their rookie contracts.
If it helps gets the nets a star player I don't mind. If it does not though I will be upset. The Nets need slashers who can create their own shot if they have to.
And to everyone bagging the Lakers for this. it was obviously a financial trade.
Now that were loosing we hopefully get a top 3 pick overall .
:oldlol:
Like who? Name me an expirer that makes less than 1.5 mill and is good.
*awaits*
Good? Probably not good but will contribute way more and Joe and actually play.
DJ Mbenga
Leon Powe
Darrel Arthur
Ian Mahinimi
Shelden Williams
Joey Dorsey
DJ White
Hilton Armstrong
These are some bigman they could get and would get minutes and are under 1.5 mil. I could find players who'd contribute way more even with earning a little more than 1.5 mil.
Joe Smith is 35 and injured. He also can't play D for shit. I doubt he gets minutes.

That's what I was thinking.
Wasn't Williams sent to the D-League because of attitude problems? Hopefully guys like Adelman, Battier and Yao can straighten him out in Houston. But tbh, apart from the occasional highlight dunk, I don't know anything about T-Will, cliffs on him?
That's what I was thinking.
It's a smart way to build because it leaves all you cap space open. He keeps doing it. Hill, Lee, Budinger, Smith, now Williams. He was brilliant, he got Budinger to sign a 4 year rookie deal worth peanuts to lock him.
Here he goes again.
Daryl Morey once again wins if this trade goes through.
The Nets have begun putting into motion a plan to acquire several assets that the Nuggets have asked for in a potential blockbuster trade for Carmelo Anthony, two people familiar with the situation told CBSSports.com.
The first step, agreed to in principle Tuesday, is a three-team trade in which the Nets get a first-round pick from the Rockets and another one from the Lakers. New Jersey sends Terrence Williams to the Rockets and Joe Smith to the Lakers, who send Sasha Vujacic to the Nets, the people familiar with the framework of the deal said.
Joe Smith? Can he even run?
We just need him to grab rebounds

Trust me hes a nice pickup and he went the to D-league for stuff like being late to practices and by the way he had 2 triple doubles in th D-League
Essentially Nets utilizing their cap space to get a first round pick. Payment for taking on Vujacic. But let's be honest. A Lakers 1st round pick isn't that valuable. 25th pick? Maybe?
The Nets better be in serious discussions for a star(Melo)... or else I'm upset.

And Defense.

Tempo changing super 6th man.
Can play PG, SG or SF.
Racks up assists and rebounds like nothing.
Also can rack up shots and turnovers.
One of the most talented passers for a non-PG have seen, though his ultimate role may be PG. Very strong for his size, but close to 6'4" than his listed 6'6"/

You got the wrong guy.
You got the wrong guy.
He's an excellent rebounder for his size. 14/7/5 last 21 games of last season.
28/11/11 in 3 Dleague games games.
To make room for Terrence Williams' arrival in three-way w/Lakers and Nets, Houston to deal Jermaine Taylor to SAC for future second-rounder
Joe Smith not T-Will.

Why? you think Williams is that good?
You got the wrong guy.
:facepalm
Why? you think Williams is that good?
It's a big risk to trade him away for LA's #1 and Houston's #1.
The kid has serious talent.

Melo has pretty much told everyone he is going to NYK...I dont get why they would think otherwise.
This is win for the Lakers just for the sheer fact they were able to get Sasha of their hands.
I like this. We got rid of an expirer... this "kinda" helps with some depth in the frontcourt...just a body for insurance... but more than anything this helps free up 5.5 million for next year...when of course Shannon Brown will not pick up the second year of his player option on the mere $2.2 million he is getting paid... more than anything this clears up money to resign Brown to another contract

that guy is a pimp, man, you gotta keep him!
Clearly has to be an attempt by the Nets to gear up for Melo? or are they just parting ways with T-Will and taking what they can get.

Clearly this is best deal 1st round picks Favors and Murphy for Melo.
Melo has pretty much told everyone he is going to NYK...I dont get why they would think otherwise.
He declined that.
So....the Lakers traded away a scrub and a pick for another scrub? Oh well. At least they get a big body and not another shooter or something.
I'm not sure about how my boy TWill will fit on the Rockets though. Someone gotta clue me in on that one.

This is a step in the Melo trade, according to Berger. Nets are loading up on first rounders. Favors, first rounders, Murphy for Melo.
As the kids say "Shit just got real."
Are you happy or sad with the Melo developments? Harris, Melo, Lopez trifecta?
Melo has pretty much told everyone he is going to NYK...I dont get why they would think otherwise.
No, not according to other sources. Chris Sheridan is a New York Knick reporter and he always takes the NYK angle. Wouldn't be surprised if it was just made up.
Peter Vecsey says Sheridan is completely full of shit.

Pretty good. Looks like T will will be dealt tommorow and is inactive today seems official tommorow.

Boston fans say the same thing about Jermaine O'Neal and get ostracized.

Two other things Sheridan has claimed:

Does Morey have a deal with the Kings to make them our dumping ground? First Adelman hired from the Kings (ok a one year time gap), then the Artest trade, then Landry-Martin trade, now Luther Head is playing for them, and now we trade Taylor to them as well?

If it happens, it's exciting and makes us happy in the short-term but it's short-sighted IMO.
It means Murphy, T.Williams, Favors for Melo.
Why? you think Williams is that good?
He has the potential to be. you could definitely see a difference in the Nets play when he plays. excellent dribbling skills, court vision and ability to finish. His only flaw was his shot. he had plenty of time to improve imo. oh well.

I don't know about only... but he was certainly the most exciting Net to watch and arguably the most talented.
