always said hes a mug. Never uses AK47 as much as he could. AK47 is a weapon if used right. Finally Utah can challenge for title.
Good luck finding a better coach. I don't mind Jerry retiring ... but this is not how it is supposed to happen
One thing to consider is that Jerry is so respected within the organization that if he were fired, he'd probably be allowed to resign.
I think that's probably what happened.
Not surprised at all
It's an absolute SHAME that he has to go through this mid-season.. Just not fair to him and everything he's put into this franchise..
With all that said. It'll be interesting to find out who our new coach is, seeing as how BOTH Sloan and Johnson are hanging it up. :(
Thanks for all you did for the Utah Jazz.
Championship or no championship, it was a fun ride with you at the helm.
Yeah, D-Will is outtie.

Just googled it. SL City is on mountain time. 5 PM EST
nuts
if this was not his decision, but forced from management I have lost all respect for the jazz
why is the assistant coach resigning as well? weird.
they started working for the Jazz at the same time I believe
So he's going to come back and coach the lakers after phil retires thats great .. On a serious note , he had a good run

Possibly, I doubt he would join another team now anyway. The man is 68 years old and being a head coach is a stress on your mental health and family. He might not have a ring but anyone who knows an ounce of basketball will know how great he was/is as a coach.
Yeah, D-Will is outtie.
Knicks can now form the big 3
Things changed for Sloan in Utah with passing of late owner Larry Miller. He could always get Miller to spend on players when it was needed.
I really, REALLY hope this is from some idiot who doesnt understand the difference between re-sign and resign. Didn't he JUST sign a new contract?
Still, end of an era.
Nah its all over the radio locally. I'm still reserving hope its not true... def bad for the organization to go down like this
always said hes a mug. Never uses AK47 as much as he could. AK47 is a weapon if used right. Finally Utah can challenge for title.
All AK47s are weapons, it's probably just really hard to get a permit to use them since they are so dangerous. Duh.
Didn't he just sign a contract extension earlier this week? Thats strange.
Just googled it. SL City is on mountain time. 5 PM EST
Duh. I got a brainfart... :facepalm
All AK47s are weapons, it's probably just really hard to get a permit to use them since they are so dangerous. Duh.
OK you're being stupid now....AK47s have plenty of uses.......nutcracker....paper weight......duh!!!!!
Wow, shocked to see him not finish out the season at least.
Got to love some of the Laker fan arrogance in here. Assuming he will just replace Jackson after he retires. Nice and classless guys:cheers:
Man....
I hope they bring in JVG....
I truely believe he can do wonders with this team.
It has all the tools to be a top defensive team in the NBA.
if this was not his decision, but forced from management I have lost all respect for the jazz
i don't think he was asked to leave but he was being told basically they were not going to do what was necessary to make improvements, and if he didn't like it, see ya"
Wow, surprising.

THey don't want to spend money. They will elevate one of their assistants.
Well, Xaio should be happy about this. :oldlol:
About time...tired of seeing this dude take L's
Well, Xaio should happy about this. :oldlol:
Ugh. Don't rub salt in the wound
At least this announcement distracts us from the Carmelo rumors for the day. :lol

The Jazz didn't force him out. They just offered him an extension a few days ago.

:lol
My dream day:
I wake up,go to nba.com to check the scores and I see something red on the main page.
I look closely and I see it writes: "Breaking news:Melo signs with Knicks".
I immediately go to espn.com and inside hoops to check this,I already start to celebrate.

its all good man
So i assume Ty Corbin gets his shot?
Far as the extension he just signed, it's severance for all his years of service, there's nothing shady about it.
Two coaches that've left their organizations following a Bulls game now.
It's just been reported on ESPN just a minute ago about the speculation of him resigning. :(
The thread got stickied. That's the end of this thread. Stickied = Thread killer
My first though was its a joke, my 2nd thought - its still a joke  It makes no sense whatsoever, he is one of the best coaches in NBA, his team is doing well (slight slump is nothing new).
