Re: Are women ALLOWED to play in the NBA?
There are women that can run the 100 meter, in 10.5 seconds. There are women that can bench 400 pounds, squat 600 pounds. Not very many NBA can do those things. Are you seriously suggesting that there isn't 1 women, who has the athletic ability, to play a bench role in the NBA? That's nonsense.
Ok....now which woman running a 10.5 is 6'0+ with NBA-caliber bball skills? The best female basketball players are in the WNBA. Who among them has this kind of athletic ability?
There might be a woman out there that could do well as an NBA team's sixth man but I have no idea who she is, and neither do you.
Re: Are women ALLOWED to play in the NBA?
They have a bench shuit though. And they are all on steroids.
But they could fold you into a ball, and throw you through a basketball hoop.
Re: Are women ALLOWED to play in the NBA?
Im not saying based on skill level could they but are they even allowed? I mean they have WNBA, which is only for women, so is NBA only for men or no? What exactly does it mean national basketball association?
I think there isn't any rule that says the can't but there is a rule that says that men can't play in the WNBA. I think it is one of those unwritten rules that says that they can't:lol
Re: Are women ALLOWED to play in the NBA?
Look up female powerlifting records.
These are records. These women are freaks. And out of those women, how many can actually play? Hulk Hogan benched 550 in his prime, but that's freakish. A guy that can bench even 350 is considered pretty strong. 400 for a guy is approaching freakish.
And remember that only .5% of the population can bench double their weight. Just finding a woman that weighs considerably over 200 pounds of muscle is quite difficult.
Re: Are women ALLOWED to play in the NBA?
What female has benched 400? Ben Wallace only maxed out at 420.
There are other issues, which make female integration a bad idea.

Lets see them try to do that to Ben Wallace

VERY few and they aren't even all the same women. Problem is there isn't a women who is strong enough, fast enough, big enough, the whole package.
Take Britney Grinner for example, EASILY the most athletic female we have ever seen. She is 6'8 175. So she weighs less than the average point guard in the NBA. Who is she going to score on in the NBA? Too short to be a center, not mobile enough to play anywhere else, too weak to get any type of position.
Now female guards, they are much closer to possible because they could conceivably stay outside but overall the women's game is jjust so much slower, not just from the athleticism standpoint but they take longer to make their decisions and have slower reaction time.
Hell, look at the ALl star celebrity games and those events where they mix WNBA stars with celebrities who have no basketball acumen. Just the physical difference between being a man and a woman makes up for any basketball skill advantage women would have.
I went to a d2 school. WHen the women's team looked for ringers to practice against, they didn't want dudes who can hoop, they just wanted guys who would play hard. And they normally still lost.

Exactly, that's why Inactive's argument is so stupid. Ok, maybe there is a big female somewhere who can beat Westbrook in a foot race? Can she sdo it while dribbling a ball though? Can she stop and go? Change directions? Possess the overall athletic graces basketball requires? Doubtful.
Female powerlifters can push Big Baby around. Ignoring that's generally a foul, do they posess the quickness and endurance basketball requires? Doubtful

Doubtful
My argument is that athleticism is not the only reason why women aren't in the NBA, and that if a women hypothetically had the athletic ability to be an NBA player, she still wouldn't be signed. To support this, I suggested that there are already women who could conceivably play a limited role in the NBA, and reinforced this assertion, by pointing to athletic feats in which the top women perform better than many of the lower tier males. I'm not saying that there are female basketball players running 10.5s, and benching 400 pounds.
I think you're forgetting the context of my posts.
Re: Are women ALLOWED to play in the NBA?
It doesn't matter.
Yes it does. You are saying that there are women who would be contributors in the NBA if given the opportunity. If you can't think of any actual examples of this then you don't have a real argument. Instead, all you have is:
The point is that there is overlap between the physical capabilities of men and women. What female basketball player could guard Scalibrine? If you ran the female record for the 100m you still wouldn't have qualified to race against the men.
Re: Are women ALLOWED to play in the NBA?
They should make women play in the same uniform's volleyball women play in.. I dont understand why they playing in loose men's bball gear. Just sayin.

In the 2008 olympics 100m, the fastest woman ran about 1 second slower than the fastest man (man was usain bolt). I'm guessing she probably ran faster than 450th fastest man. Sprinting is a purely athletic feat, so males should have a much larger advantage than they would in a sport like basketball. Since this is the case, it's not unreasonable to suggest that a top female player could conceivably contend with the NBA players ranked in the 400s, especially in a role that minimizes athletic demands.
What female basketball player could guard Scalibrine?
Since we can't compare numbers , or level of competition, between male, and female (w)nba athletes, we have to look to other sports, which record objective data.
Even if I'm wrong, in my suggestion that the top WNBA players could theoretically be spot up shooters, it doesn't invalidate my original point. It just means that I didn't effectively reinforce it, which is okay because your argument was based entirely on the names of the organizations.

creating an account on a basketball forum usually comes after developing a brain, not sure how you skipped that step
