Re: True height of NBA players
They should be measures in shoes, that's what they play in.
I'd love to see shaq measured and weighed. Dude has to be bigger than listed in both height and weight.
I guarantee he is atleast 7'2 and 350. Easy. He makes Dwight Howard look like a little kid. Literally.
Except people wear different shoes for the combine than when they play...
Re: True height of NBA players
I'm convinced that Walton and Kareem were each at least two inches taller than they were listed.
Walton still looked to be over 7' tall when I met him just 12 years ago.
Having seen Kareem and Manute Bol stand side by side and seeing a barely noticeable difference, I believe Kareem to have been about 7'5"
Garnett is over 7' tall and always has been listed at 6'11"
I also believe, though never saw him close enough to be sure, that Wilt was a good 7'2" or 7'3". He dwarfs even the legit 7' guys from his era.
While I agree that heights fro prior eras can be understated, we're going a little too far here.
Kareem was about a legit 7'2", maybe a fraction over, about Big Z's height. But 7'5" is crazy.
Wilt was a legit 7'+ and could be listed at 7'2" in today's league.
Garnett is just shy of 7'; Shaq has at least 1.5" on him.
Walton is 7'.

What do you know that I don't?
What's crazy about Kareem being 7'5"? I literally stood 20 feet from him and Manute Bol standing on a basketball court and he did not look noticeably shorter. Combine that with several players who say he was definitely taller than his listed 7'2" and I think it's a pretty close estimation.
Garnett's over 7", Shaq's probably a legit 7'1 without shoes. And nobody looks bigger than him, not even Yao.
Re: True height of NBA players
No matter how big you are, you don't look bigger than Shaq.

I guess Bynum is about 7'5'' too :hammerhead:
Re: True height of NBA players
Some other heights of players:
Z is 7'2" barefeet, 7'3" in shoes
Lebron is 6'8" barefeet, 6'9" in shoes
Dirk in reality is 6'11" barefeet, 7'0 in shoes
Durant was measured 6'9" barefeet in Olympics, so the claims of him being a "7 footer" are completely out of the ass. He just looks very long due to his skinny limbs
First off, where's the link for Olympic measurements?
Second, that was 3 years ago, Bra, and Durant easily could have grown since then. If he's grown atleast an inch since then, that means he's 6'11 in shoes, if not more.
Dude is still young.
He was 6'10 1/4 with shoes on at the age of 19. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he grew another inch and 3/4 over the last 4 years to be 7' with shoes on. If not, I'd say he's atleast 6'11 with shoes on.
No one cares what you are barefoot, you don;t play basketball barefoot!
Re: True height of NBA players
brandon roy is shorter than he was a few years ago.
Re: True height of NBA players
How tall is Yao?
How tall is Durant?
How tall is LBJ?
Per FIBA and the Chinese national team, Yao is 2.28 meters barefoot. That means he is 7-5 3/4 barefoot.
He is MAX 6-1. I've seen him in person.
Re: True height of NBA players
Kerr is listed at 6'3", not 6'4". He doesn't look a full 6'3" either, though - more like 6'2.5".
No. Kerr was listed at 6-1.

No way in hell is Durant anything over 6-10 in shoes.

You're an idiot if you actually think John Wall is not taller than 6'1''

Bynum was over 7'0 barefoot as an 18yo rookie, he's a bit taller now obviously.
Reem looks noticably taller in the pictures you posted and he's well into his sixties. Not unthinkable he was 7'4-7'5 as a young man.

He was over 6'10 in shoes at his NBA draft combine in 2007, Bra.
Sorry.

Draft measurements are taken when players backs are expanded - adding 3/4 to 1 1/4 inches of height to their actual heights.
This is common knowledge. I guess you never played basketball at any level, because even in junior high they do it that way to inflate the real heights. Anyone that thinks Durant is over 6-10 in shoes is delusional.

So Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook are both only 6 feet tall?

Oh, then you're saying every NBA player that's been through the combine is an inch and 1/4 shorter than their listed height.
Nice try, bra. Durant is at the least 6'10 1/4 in shoes, but his teammates say 6'11 approaching 7'.

Bynum is not even taller than Shaq now and if hes smaller than Kareem on those pics its by not more than half an inch max.
Kareem was 7'3'' at most but he wasnt 7'5'' like Yao Ming
