I see Iverson averaging 23 and 8 in Denver.
Once they click, they are going to be damn good.
CT: Camby/ Nene
PF: Najera/ Evans
SF: Anthony/ Kleiza
SG: Smith/ Diawara
PG: Iverson/ Boykins
Now if they could just move Boykins for a good passing/ defending back up point.
Charlie Bell
Earl Watson
Marcus Banks
Brevin Knight
Chris Duhon
Jamal Tinsley
Marquis Daniels
Steve Blake?
Derek Fisher (perfect IMO)
this season, probably...but they're getting three first rounders in most hyped draft class for some time (along with 2003). also, it's make it or break it for iggy, dalembert, korver, green and so on. if there's any true potential in them, this will bring it out.
The problem is most of the best players are all SG/SF, which they have a ton of already. Also,
-
the happiest man after that trade has to be Gilbo. He now has a clear shot at the scoring title.
if thats what concerns arenas the most, too bad. id want my main star to want to win more than anything else.
why?
KG+AI>>>>Melo+AI
Plus, I'm a fan.

Honestly, a great trade both ways

if thats the case, ai should goto cleveland. bron>kg.
bad logic.

Woe to thee, high playoff seeds of the West!
Some team is going to face Allen Iverson with a legit scorer and a defensive, rebounding-oriented frontcourt next to him in the first round.
The Nuggets could really mess someone up.

I think he's saying they mesh better, which I also believe to be true.
-
I made a Boykins-for-Banks thread yesterday. Seems to make some sense for both sides to me.
Boykins, Barbosa, and Nash all on the same team is a small scorer overload. I don't see how that makes Phoenix better. That's one team that needs no help scoring on the perimeter.
-
Definately. They should've kept Watson!
The Nuggets don't really have anyone to distribute the ball in a pass-first manner. Boykins is a 5'6'' SG basically. AI is a scorer 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a passer 4th. I see them being a great team, but will they be able to beat the Suns, Mavs and Spurs? I'm not sure they can.
agreed but at least we have a CHANCE at beating them. before we had 0 chance. now we have that potential to be great unlike before.
when you have the chance at an ALL TIME GREAT and all you give up is basially dre (who i liked) you gotta try.

Andre Miller remaining salary = 9.3mil, 9.6mil, 9.9mil
I dunno how to look at that. Guess its ok.
I love the 3 first round picks in 2007. :applause:
Greg Oden/Durant/B.Wright
then Tyler Hansborough, Acie Law
-
This is a great trade for the Nuggets, and the Sixers didn't fare to badly either. Also, this can't come at a better time for the Nuggets. The West just got a little more interesting.
-
The Sixers are all but assured a top 5 pick this year. Now that they can add two more picks to the pot, they have a great shot at Oden (trading 3 picks for him), should he come out.
Having Miller on the team is terrific. He won't make you win too many games, but he will keep the offense on track. There aren't supposed to be too many point guards in the draft anyway, so his long contract isn't a negative.
-

No it's not.
High-low presence>>>2 perimeter players
-
Don't people realize both draft picks will be in the 25-30 range? That's pretty crappy, even for the 2007 draft. I think Denver wins this trade.

Yes, that's certainly something to take into account.

The **** they will be. You think Denver and Golden State are both going to be top 6 teams, record-wise?
EDIT - actually I guess one of the picks is from Dallas? If that's true, that will be 25-30. The Denver pick won't be so high though.
-

Phoenix gets a smaller version of Eddie House, who they no longer have and who was able to get them back into games at points.
It's not about offense, though - it's about saving money. Phoenix regrets Banks' contract and it is interested in moving him. Boykins expires after next season.
-

but still, in this particular situation, i really doubt that they could get much more
-
The next step is to play as the horrible, horrible Sixers on NBA Live and see what I can do.
-
Could be better than Dr. J IMO.
I like Kevin Durant too, but no. So far he's been showing the same promise that Tim Thomas did after his freshman year at Nova..and we know how he turned out. Durant is having better numbers, I know.

You sure thats the Warriors pick. From all I've heard that pick is from the Mavs.

If the Nuggets struggle at first and don't win many games in the next 15 then the Sixers might actually have a shot at Hansborough with a 16th-19th pick.
Miller, Iggy, Durant and Hansborough with Carney, Green and Dalembert is a great team in a few years.
Miller/Ollie
Iggy/Green
Durant/Carney
Hansborough/Shav
Dalembert/ Roy Hibbert (Mavs pick)

One way or another, the "can Iverson coexist with another scorer" debate is going to be put to an end, and I like that. Iverson gets bonus points if JR Smith can also keep up his scoring average. If Iverson can play a Zeke-like game from here on out Denver will have a shot at the Finals.
-
adam, do you not think Denver will be top 6 record wise? Certainly they will be. If it makes you feel better, both picks will be in the 21-30 range. Look at where they sit currently, go to nbadraft.net.
2 picks in the 20's is crap. Look at the Bulls. they're gonna have a top 5 pick again and all they traded was eddy curry who was disgruntled. Sixers could of gotten a little more sugar on top of this one.
-
I wish the Lakers gave Odom,Vujacic and Cook
-
...
Damn Sixers got 3 1rst round picks in the 2007 draft? Assuming they keep there 1rst at the rate they are going.
-

Good point, though it makes me wonder if Philly will make Denver include him if they make a deal.
-
...
Perfect time for KG to demand his trade. Whats the T-Wolves record anyways?
-
I can't believe they couldn't get JR Smith. For Allen f'ing Iverson.
-

"Certainly they will be?" They're currently 10th and don't have Anthony or Smith for several games. Also, they have to take time figuring Iverson out because they've got a new starting point guard now.
-
I like Kevin Durant too, but no. So far he's been showing the same promise that Tim Thomas did after his freshman year at Nova..and we know how he turned out. Durant is having better numbers, I know.
Nah that comparison is way off. Durant has so much more talent in terms of ball handling, athleticism, quickness, defense and obviously potential.
Like you said, his numbers are a lot better and he already looks like a leader at Texas.
-
The next step is to play as the horrible, horrible Sixers on NBA Live and see what I can do.
Run a simulation to see what happens with Iverson, and post Iverson.
-
elite, JR Smith has character issues just like Iverson. The Sixers don't want anymore selfish players. They're done with that headache now.
-
i dunno how this is gonna work for the nuggets. i think andre miller is very under rated and was very important in making the nuggets offense work.
