Uh, we're talking about Eddy Curry here.
Those teams he played on had better players though, like Marbury, Houston, Kurt/Tim Thomas, Crawford etc. Now he has no one.
I'm confused on your state on how that has anything to do with Eddy Curry.
You excited about a garbage Center to add to your garbage players that the heat surround the team with? Joel Anthony is better than his big A**. He claims he lost 70 pounds but wont tell the media how much his weight is currently. Every single player the heat sign will simply die because the offense goes through LeChoke and Dwade. Chris bosh isnt included in the big 3, its now 2.5 You should feel bad about this pick up for the heat. :facepalm
U Mad?

He was surrounded by better talent? Thus making him a better player?
****ing Marbury man.

Nah, he just got really fat and lazy.
U Mad?
I don't know about him, but I'm f*ckin' livid. This means all the food that Wade and LeBron would get fat off of down in Miami is not going to this f*cking garbage disposer named Eddy.
Still fat. He's looking like he wants to eat that reporter.
Reports say he ate the microphone afterwards.

He looks like in great shape.
He definitely looks like willing to play defense and rebound. :applause:
Why are people even criticizing this signing. He's just a replacement for magloire or Z. Were not expecting him to do much.
Eddy Curry needs to play in the D-League. Let see if he still knows how to play some basketball.
u mean the Mickey D's-League?
:lol at everyone saying defense
u mean the Mickey D's-League?
:lol
Curry looking nice and skinny.
Always felt he had huge potential hopefully Riley can keep him in shape and he can really contribute in a beneficial way to the Heat.
What does everyone think Curry's best could be this season?
Obviously the worst is he falls into his old tricks, gets lazy and complacent, doesn't stay fit and basically is a non event in Miami, experiment over.
On the flip side, what's the most Curry could achieve? Starter? 15-20mins a night as a back up to Anthony?
In offensive they arn't going to play through him, or feed him the ball that much, though he did have 20 and 7 season back 06/07. He was capable of scoring when required to.
I think if Curry plays 15-20mins, and can come in an impact with maybe 8-10 points, 5-7 rebounds. Clog the paint and not be a liability on defence. That would be a resonable return for the Heat. Thoughts?
:lol at everyone saying defense
He lost a lot of weight, so that means he's willing to play defense.
Curry was actually a very good M2M Defender.
People forget he is a very good athlete and ridiculously strong.
His issue was always stamina/effort + conditioning.
If he fixes those issues I see no reason he cant be good defensively in short spurts.
He would be good defending bigger centers like Dwight or Yao.
Defense? Heat have Joel A. for defense... Curry is here for low-block offense.
curry must of been on the mcsmoothie diet
pple forget that hes a poor rebounder and cant block for shit
Defense? Forget that.

Based on what?
Based on what?
Based on watching him.
He was always a terrible rebounder / SBlocker though.
hes going to be so toxic for the heat i love it. his personality is pure mold. hes a defeatest, a loser by nature. no fight, no heart...

i like him already
They might have to introduce a new statistical category for Eddy Curry:
The LJPTCHBAINTTEC-
LeBron James passes that could have been assists, if not thrown to Eddy Curry.
i like him already
this guy took like 6 years in the league before getting motivated by Isiah commanding the entire roster to force feed Curry the ball every single posession. After 82 games of feeling the pride of being a #1 option, it only took july and august to undo it all. Enjoy...
...as a 7th or 8th option, we will take it, G.

If he's in shape, I have no doubt he'll score some buckets for you guys. Considering how weak the center position is. He's deceptively smooth in the post. But at the other end, jesus christ, you might as well just give the guy a small chair near the photographers so he can get ready for the next posession.

You see , we have these guys on the perimeter called Wade, Battier, James, and Chalmers. We also have Bosh and Haslem.
Shirley, we will be fine.

Oh really you guys have LeBron James? Had no idea. Thats so weird, he should've found a way to let people know, you know like dance on a stage, or broadcast his choice on tv.

sarcasm noted.
Curry is the Joel Anthony of the Heat on defense, and he may not even be that bad.
The Heat should combine Anthony and Curry into a single person.
:applause:

Then they'd actually have a legit center! :lol
lol they showed a pic of him as if he's for sure the definate x-factor.
Whatever happens, please do not let Eddy Curry hang out with Dexter Pittman.

I think he will do ok, no worse they dampier did.
1. Curry lost the weight before. The season before D'Antoni got here, he lost a ton of weight. Unfortunately, he got hurt in training camp. Its not just the weight anymore, he is an injury prone player. I'll be surprised if he survivies the 3 weeks of the preseason.
2. Sure he can try on defense and rebounding (anyone can try, I'd try too, but I don't defend and rebound on an NBA level, neither does he). Curry really only has 1 NBA-level skill and its scoring on the block--and lets not exaggerate, he's not some unstoppable monster at it, at his very best, when the whole offense was geared around him getting shots on the low-block, he grazed 20ppg (think he averaged 19+).
3. The biggest problem with him having one NBA-skill, even if it was a good and useful one, is that his basketball instincts were awful. Once the double-teaming would start, and he'd get confused. Start forcing things, throwing balls away. Plus as a turnstile on defense and under the rim, you are giving up a ton of points/bds for the 19ppg he gets you.
Think of him like a designated 3-pt. shooter. Can't have him on the floor too much because of what he gives up, but for some situations, he may be useful.
So assuming he is fully healthy and engaged, (which is alot to ask of an older past-his-prime, injury prone big-man) the most you can get out of him is 5-10 minutes per half to change the pace of the game, and get the opposing center in foul trouble - maybe.
