Down in OT ... hits 3 to cut the lead, draws a double team to find a open Gasol for 3. > Whatever you crying about.
And that was the biggest shot of the game. They were down by 4, with all the momentum shifting to Utah. He rebounds the ball, brings it up the floor, calmly takes a three (something he's been struggling with this year), and the ball touches nothing but the bottom of the net.:applause:

Re: Discuss Kobe Bryant/Lakers performance in the last two games
I'm surprised Kobe's exerting this much effort for regular season games. Over the past couple years he's paced himself till the end of the season. Either he's feeling really good physically or he realizes the Lakers aren't going to seriously contend for a championship and he's going for big numbers. Hard to tell.
Last season was really the only season he didn't exert that much energy in the regular season. In the '09-'10 season he was killing it before he got hurt and he was the front-runner for MVP by the majority too. In the '08-'09 season he was consistently dominant night in and night out in the regular season and in the post-season. Last season was really the only season he didn't try to consistently dominate night in and night out.
I think the player you might be thinking of is Dwyane Wade.

that was a BIG TIME 3.... momentum was all Utah and he went up the court and drained that shit.... changed the outcome

Re: Discuss Kobe Bryant/Lakers performance in the last two games
I certainly think that is possible to. But it also leaves him 0-2 in game winners this year and if you are going to (rightfully) punish LeBron for late game failures you have to acknowledge he hasn't done so well with this either. Take away Pau's 3 or Bynum following his miss and the Lakers lose to the horrific Jazz last night.
Except Kobe hasn't shyed away from the moment at all. And his shot last night was a good attempt.. Raja got a hand on the ball just as he picked his dribble up though, forcing him to fumble it on the way up to shoot it. It was one on one though with no help.. cant really complain when he was tearing him up all game before that. When you're shooting it 30+ times a game for 40 minutes carrying the team as a 16th season vet it can be hard to keep those legs up on your jumpers in late games[especially on the tail end of a B2B].
What Lebron has done has been a circus show.. passing up shot after shot in the clutch.. shooting like 20% in his most recent fourth quarters.. bricking gamewinning freethrows.. it's exactly why GW stats aren't completely truthful. Lebron has looked way worse in crunchtime than Kobe has despite equal stats. Shit, I'm pretty sure Lebron got credit for a GW last night when he hit 2/4 FTs to tie the game.. but anyone watching the game saw him clearly choking time after time[even on those FTs where Wade bailed him out].

That's an excellent point. I'm pretty sure people like pauk, DMavs41 (ginobili),etc. will include that in Lebron's game winning/tying stat after a few months or so.

Nah. Kobe has paced himself for the past 3 seasons now. I'm not saying he completely took the regular season off, but he was clearly more aggressive and generally got into the paint more once the postseason started. What really excites me about this year is that Kobe is once again facilitating. He hasn't done that consistently for 2 or 3 years now. I know his assists numbers have stayed high, but Kobe's actually creating shots for others again and I love it.

Re: Discuss Kobe Bryant/Lakers performance in the last two games
Missed the game vs Phoenix so I downloaded it and watched it. Impressive without a doubt, and interesting. Mostly mid-range and close jumpers, and an incredible amount of craftiness to get to those spots and especially how he drew fouls. He attempted what? 11 or 12 free throws? But none of them were on drives to the basket. He got fouled on a 3, hit a couple of technicals, got fouled on 3 more mid-range jumpers(2 were and 1s, iirc) and got fouled on a non shooting foul in the penalty. Most of that was because of his use of fakes, there's nobody better at it. And while his long range shooting is still off, he's adjusted really well by being able to get closer. A lot of the shots he made were in the flow of the offense as well, though he did start forcing quite a few in the second half, but because he was so hot early, that can be excused.
I didn't watch the Utah game because I don't have league pass, is that one worth watching? How does it compare to the Phoenix performance.

Here's a cut of all of his FGs http://youtu.be/TRwPPTA-MjU
He played well for most of the game as Gasol and Bynum couldn't get it going inside, really carried the offense well. Looked gassed towards the end though and wasn't converting well in the 4th/OT, but he still hit a couple big shots. His midrange looks great right now.

Next opponent: Cavs at home
Kobe loves these scoring streaks. 3 in a row?
We are in a Kobe thread jackass. So if we are going to pile adulation upon him for his game last night we should mention that he was pretty terrible in the last 5:30...

LOL except that ur to stupid to realize that Kobe hit a shot with 30 seconds left that would have been the game winner if they got a stop and ur to stupid to realize if Kobe's teammates would have played semi decent then they would be in that situation in the first place. :facepalm

Re: Discuss Kobe Bryant/Lakers performance in the last two games
When is he going to start hitting his 3's? That's the only thing missing from his game right now...otherwise, he looks as good as he did in 2007.

Well considering Kobe hasn't been able to hit his threes for 2 or 3 years now I'd say that's not going to happen. It's just been a downward spiral since those finger injuries.

Pretty much. The last 2 seasons he's shot just 32% from 3 which can be attributed to his finger issues. He should just work the mid range game more. But the 3 ball has been a big part of Kobe's game now for almost 9-10 years. We can't just expect him to change the way he plays quickly especially since he's been so successful with it.

It's not that hard to get a stop...Plus my main point is that it's ridiculous to criticize a player for missing a game winner when 20 seconds before, they hit what could and should have been a game winning field goal.

He's just trolling you.
I agree with what you're saying. Instead of giving him credit for shooting 1 for 2 in game winning shots, they are trying to discredit him for not making both of them. Plus, he still made that huge three in OT to cut the lead and made both of his free throws in the last 10 seconds or whatever and made the game sealing block. If that's not clutch, then I guess Lebron's barely making 2 out of 4 free throws is.:facepalm

Kobe is defying Father time! He looked surprisily good out there. That's the guy with a messed up wrist?
But what I really like about it is he has been creating for his teammates lately. Which is a good thing, the Lakers need to be more balanced if they want to go deep into the playoffs.

The Lebron argument is getting really tiresome now...
Until he shows up at the end of games or actually wins something, people should really shut the fu*k up about him:oldlol:
Wade has looked like crap all season aswell...
Im not a heat hater but they are stinking it up right now. Im sure they will get it together and make a decent run in the playoffs though. Question is will Lebron show up:confusedshrug:
And Kobe:bowdown:  #1 in the league. If he keeps this up, MVP imo.. When he goes to the bench they are horrible:facepalm

The way I remember it, I just asked you what you meant by "better and more intangibles". That's all. lol. You then told me I'm not worth your time. That was literally the entire conversation. I don't understand where "emotion" fits into that, but sure, go with that. lol
