Exactly. some people are being too sentimental and act like our team's chemistry is that good. We all saw how that worked out in the playoffs.
I think the team is doing much better this year, but it is still a ways apart from beating Miami in a 7 game series imho.

What? He'd get them cause he'd be clearly the most efficient player on the court. We already have a problem of being forced into bad shots, specifically from our big men and from Rose when our big men can't position themselves well. I'd hate to give up Noah, but if thats what it takes, oh well.

I would try to avoid that, but if it comes down to that, I guess we would have to.
Deng is hurt, and we don't know when and at what percentage he will be back. Hedo is having a pretty good season, and he can be our second ball handler and scorer in crunch time. He also knows where and how to get the ball to Howard. And he's a decent defender, too. He's got great size.

Deng, as good as his numbers are this year is not as good as a facilitator as Hedo imho.

I mean, I don't know. Maybe I'm looking at it way too objective and not enough from Chicago's stand point. But I think the worst you lose is Deng, who will undoubtedly be missed. But I think Brewer is replaceable, I think Lucas is replaceable. Boozer disappears half of the time, and his lack of playing time down the stretch is a testament to his lack of effectiveness from a coach's standpoint. Noah is just starting to come along this year, and has been the defensive anchor that the Bulls needed so desperately in the years of Hinrich/Gordon/Deng.
But you're in turn getting the best center in the league who hasn't even reached his prime yet, the defensive player of the year two years in a row. What you'd lose in defense from Noah and Boozer (Boozer, defense? :oldlol: ) you get back in Dwight, and then some. You don't lose anything on offense when it comes to losing Noah. You lose the versatility Boozer brings in his capabilities, but you can probably find a much cheaper option for someone that will put up less points but be more consistent, and better defensively (KG for the veteran's minimum maybe?). You don't lose anything on rebounding, unless you consider the fact that you're replacing two able bodies to get a loose ball on the boards with one. That energy you guys are talking about is great and all, but we're talking the best center in the league. If you're not willing to trade an "energy player" to have the best center in the league and one of the best point guards in the league, on the SAME team, and they haven't even reached their prime yet? You got your priorities all mixed up.
Again, it's just a trade idea at the end of the day so get your panties out a bunch. If you can pull it off without giving Deng then you got yourself a steal. But to me, the Magic are not trading Dwight frigging Howard for just Noah and Gibson, or Boozer and Brewer. If they were looking to deal that low they'd just trade Bynum for Dwight straight up. You'd at least be getting the best center in the West for Howard. Noah and Boozer aren't even top 5 at their respected positions, let's be serious here.
All I'm saying is, you give yourself the makings of a true dynasty in Rose and Howard. That pick and roll combination? :bowdown:
With that being said, Bulls are still one of the best teams in the NBA, top 3 without question, for some stretches THE best team. But when Boozer disappears again in the playoffs, and Noah's energy isn't enough to stop Miami, and Rose again is in a situation where it's him or nothing, Rose against Miami's big 2.5, and they fall short again, I guarantee you'll look back at the past possibility for trading for Howard and you won't be so disgruntled anymore.

if they could makehe trade happen with what your tossing out there then they should do whatever they can to get it done. but even with trading a piece like noah you are taking a risk with blowing up team chemistry. i dont think noah gibson and a draft pick would be enough though and if the bulls had to add more and take hedo with it. then chicago would be taking a huge risk of destroying a chance at a title this year.

the bulls cant give boozer and noah. winning in the nba happens when youve got the bigs. howard playing next to boozer or noah is what would make the bulls stronger.

I agree with your last post, you are thinking of this from way too objective of a standpoint. The great thing about our team (Bulls) this year is that we have such a complete and deep team. For any-body who doesn't watch us regularly, you would think more than half our team is just trade-able assets that can easily be replaceable. Which is wrong.
You look at Brewers numbers, and you immediately under-estimate him by forgetting his ability to fill in on both the offensive and defensive side for both the two-guard and small forward positions. You put Asik, Noah, and Boozer in the trade and then forget that your trading away all of the Bulls centers for one center (granted it is Dwight Howard). Where is our depth now at the front line?
I can tell you right now, there is no way in this Derrick-Rose led Bulls team era where I think Hedo is a good replacement for Deng. Not to mention we're also giving away Brewer.
All these players might not seem like much from the outside, but collectively in this team, coach, and system... it would be much harder then you make it seem to find players to replace them.
Essentially, that trade destroys our teams depth; our depth is one of the most important reasons why we are succeeding like we are this season. Yes we get Howard (Howard is Howard), and Hedo is flexible in his capability of performing point guard duties when he is asked to, but your trading away practically our entire front-line including the bench (depth) players, trading away two players who have proven themselves to play hard on both sides of the floor and produce (Deng and Brewer), another back-court player in Lucas, and a first round pick.
Again, I concede that we get the best center and defensive player in the league. Yes we would get the defensive player of the year... but we're already a great defensive team. With this trade.... who's going to guard the Lebron James and Dwayne Wade without Deng and Brewer? Hedo is flexible and has proven himself a great play-maker.... but we already have Derrick Rose and do not need someone to fill that role. Who's going to play the 4 along-side Howard? Gibson? What happens when Howard gets into foul trouble or when Gibson needs to be subbed out?
Simply put, the trade you proposed cuts into the very heart and soul that makes this Bulls team so successful. I commend your attempt to find a trade that is fair to the Magic, who appear to be screwed no matter what this season, but I hope what i discussed in my post gives you a better idea of why so many true Bulls fans have choked at your trade proposal.

While that trade proposal may be an unrealistic, unreasonable one. You are overrating the "value" of these role players. They are replacable. Eliminating all of them? That itself is unreplacable but please do not think finding Brewers, Taj Gibson, Kyle Korvers, Asik, Cj Watsons of the world are a tough find. They're not. Just need to point that out. With success, fans tend to think way more of their role players than they should be.
I dont think Chicago has a package to put together and aquire Dwight Howard. What Orlando wants, Chicago wouldnt be interested to give up. And I cant knock them given the only team in the East stopping them from getting to the NBA Finals are the Miami Heat. And getting Dwight while losing so much in the process is not worth it. Unless you do a trade of this kind in the offseason. Then you're better able to find out what to replace, with who and for what.

Sorry why would Orlando, who would become a rebuilding team, wanting to take on a center who cannot come close to replacing dwight (let's face it no center will play the minutes he plays) and 2 large horrible contracts, plus give away big baby?
The Melo trade last year set the precedent. Orlando saw how well Denver came out of that trade (that are CLEARLY better now than they were before) and wants the same thing to happen to them.
They are going to shop Dwight around for as long as it takes to any team that will give them a home run deal, like Denver did. If Dwight whines and says he'll only go to team X, then they will push to make sure that team X gives more than Dwight's worth, if they truly want him that badly, like Denver did.
It might even end up being a bigger deal than the Melo trade, too. Next to Lebron, Dwight is probably the most valuable player in the league. No way is he getting traded unless Orlando gets a grand slam out the damn park of a deal.

I'm not a Chicago fan but if y'all would have to give up Deng and Deng is the piece to the puzzle.
Deng is the chemistry, just like LA lost Odom and now they are bad, if y'all lose Deng you get worse.
I just think Chicago is the perfect team.
