It's also going standalone in September so might want to wait for that.
i find it very hard to believe that dayz will be ready to be standalone in september.

Dont shoot the messenger. I heard September was the expected date. They're going the minecraft route with releasing it in alpha and then going from there.
bump for 2013 steam summer sale

It's that time again...

Antichamber was a real cool game, totally worth 7 bucks.
Call of Juarez looks like it could be fun, but it's still 10 bucks. I'm conditioned to pay less than 6.xx for a full game, and much less for something like hotline miami.* The Humble bundle has out shined steam sales for almost going on a year for me.
*hm is awesome. the presentation is, uh, aggrerssive, yet the core of the game is some pretty solid fun for a couple of hours. maybe more. http://youtu.be/qqS51B4sdGc (if you like games, tb is a pretty honest dude when you're out there sifting out the decent stuff through the piles of shit, I'd rec his videos/reviews/whatever.)
stupid fukking community vote. borderlands 2 been dirt cheap since last winter and they voted to have it on sale again instead of dishonored which hardly ever came under 20 bucks. i know steam has it for 18 dollars as of right now, but i would have instantly bought for $10. hopefully it will come around
just cause 2 for $3 is impossible to pass up.

Fun game. The story has been done to death in video games, but the gameplay itself is a great time. I had to break down and buy a 360 controller to play it on pc.
I'll probably get Anno today. There's AOE2 HD, but I think I'd rather get Brave New World for Civ V.
Only bought Sleeping Dogs so far. Probably not too much else out there that I don't already have.
Hoping for Rogue Legacy to go on sale but it's a brand new release so that's doubtful.
CS:Go and Antichamber for me so far. There's really nothing else left to buy anymore. I still don't understand this trading card thing :lol .
I'm one of the 6 steam users who hasn't played New Vegas. Game + all dlc for $5? I'm in.
so far, borderlands 2 dlc (psycho pack and additional skins), hotline:miami and nba 2k13 as i only spent 15 bucks. im only buying what i know ill play. waiting on dishonored. anybody play dota 2? never played mmo, but is it worth it to try? has anyone tried the new company of heroes 2?
Since I have most of the older games on sale this year, i've only gotten Bioshock Infinite, Resident Evil 6 and Tomb Raider. I was a sucker and got Borderlands 2, Saints Row 3, Sleeping Dogs and Hitman: Absolution when they came out. Still waiting for Dishonoured to be on sale.

Isn't it on sale right now? 20% off.

It is. Hoping for higher. But again, unlikely.
I can't believe people actually buy these Steam trading cards with real money. I'm selling most of the ones I earn and putting that towards buying games.

What are you supposed to do with them things anyway?

Craft badges and make your profile pretty, I guess. I'm just selling them.
copped dishonored w/dlc and deus ex hr for tree dollaz. couldn't pass dat up.
Yep , got deus ex. Also just got allan wake for tree dorras
Got all the DLC I was missing for Civilization V for $5. Mirrors Edge for $3 as well.
Can someone get me Receiver? :(
That was fun. Those trading cards transformed steam into diablo for 2 weeks.

The only badge I crafted was the one for the sale to boost me to level 10. Sold everything else. I'm still selling all the cards I earn.

I didn't even bother with that once I learned what the rewards were. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $11 for selling all of my cards. Not bad.
Just checked out my steam, saw you guys talking about cards and badges.. I have a few from Crusader Kings II, what's the deal with these things?
Games "drop" cards. Really, all that means is, launch a game and leave it open for a few hours and you'll find those cards in your inventory. You can play the game if you want, it doesn't matter after launching it.
Badges are crafted from those cards. Badges, as far as I can tell, reward stuff like profile backgrounds and vanity items like that. Alternatively, you can sell your cards on the marketplace for between 11-50 cents.

I also noticed "the bigger picture" it was almost like the Steam application became an interactive tutorial thing like when you buy a new computer..
Thanks for clearing that up, would rep.
Also, how do you make the badges, I clicked on the cards but all I could do was zoom in and then zoom in some more.
I didn't craft one, but I'm guessing you click the area where it has the badge name and XP.
last thing i got was trine 2 for tree dollaz again. ive only been selling badges that i have extra. id give it away for free but steam wont allow, so ive been selling it at .03 cents and getting back a 1.

You should check the market first and then undercut the price by 1 cent. So If I see one selling for $0.15, I put it up for 0.12 or so and it gets listed at 0.14 (Valve takes a cut of it). People are nuts. Every card I've put up has sold within 1 minute.
Anybody got any recommendations for a good real time strategy game on Steam.
**** yeah i made 26 cents today by playing a game of csgo
im going to try to play enough to pay for some keys to open up those stupid crates i've gotten in tf2.
Finally got around to playing Civ 5 after buying it 2 sales ago. God damn it's addicting. I beat a tiny map on easy after like 13 hours and maxing every single tech tree and like 5 of the policies. Pretty damn fun. I love the "wait one more turn" option, and I of course clicked it. I had a nuke to use that I didn't want to waste. :pimp:

Winning the game = time to test out these nukes I've been holding onto.

13 hours? You'll work your way up to 13 days. Only half joking about this.
Also, all of the advisers are dicks. Don't follow their advice if you want to move up the difficulty settings.
Has anyone here tried the Star Trek online game. It's free to play.
Anything good for the mac?
