One, Melo appears taller than Iggy in the photo. Two, they aren't standing next to one another, making camera deception more plausible.

The notion that every photo with Durant appearing definitively taller than players measured at 6-10 w/shoes is somehow captured in a manner that makes his height deceptive, or that I'm not taking the laws of depth perception into account is asinine and ridiculous. Durant has grown an inch since he was 18, is that so implausible?

One may be talking in the others ear but the only one who is changing his head angle is Dirk. And even with changing his head angle he is still taller. Not to mention the fact that Durant is in the forefront on both pictures.

Kevin Love is listed at 6-10 while Durant is still listed at 6-9. If Love is 6-10 then Durant is 6-11.

I specifically remember someone pointing this exact same thing out to you in a Charles Barkley height thread (I think) where you were using pictures to prove your point. You may have gone back and acknowledged your mistake in not taking footwear into consideration, but I'm finding it a bit ironic that you're now calling someone else out for the same thing.

You only get to take so many shots in a game, and the majority of them should be taken by Kobe, Durant, Lebron, Melo, etc. Everyone else has to contribute in other ways, and there aren't a lot of perimeter players who can contribute more without scoring than Iguodala.

Everybody and their mother already knows by now that KD is 6'11. We don't need another thread for it every few days.

Oh... MASH has talked about the Thunder a lot so think he's a fan? Also Joyner has brought this crap up enough times. Obviously Durant is a bit taller than 6'9 he got drafted at.... but 6'10 is more accurate than 7 feet tall and if he is 6'10 that's still tall as FU** for a SF let alone with his quickness, athleticism etc. If you add 1-2 inches it doesn't become any more or less impressive IMO.

Durant isn't 7 feet in any way, not even in shoes. Duncan was a measured legit 6'11" without shoes when he was drafted, and Durant definitely isn't as tall as Duncan.

You have Durant's measurement of 6'9" without shoes from when he was just 3 months shy of his 19th birthday. You're usually pretty much done growing by then, I'm not sure about guys who are freakishly tall to begin with like Durant, but it doesn't seem like NBA players grow much after they're drafted.

Durant himself said prior to the 2010-2011 season that he was 6'9 1/2" without shoes and 6'11" with shoes. I'd take his word for it, and he was definitely grown by then at 22 years old.

So that, along with the official measurement seems a lot more reliable than pictures which vary depending on posture and angles.

It explains why some insist he's 6'11" since a lot of NBA players seem to be listed around their height in shoes.

Nah, plenty don't. Duncan used to, but now he's listed at his real height of 6'11" since about '04 or '05. Shortly after Robinson retired.

There's plenty if you look at draftexpress such as Shaq, Durant, Garnett, Wade, Grant Hill, Ray Allen, Vince Carter and Alonzo Mourning to name a few that are listed at their real heights. I'm convinced Gasol and Bynum are both taller than the 7'0" they're listed at as well. Pierce and Bosh were others until their listings oddly got boosted in the last few years.

The one I've never understood is John Starks saying he's 6'2" when he's listed 6'5". What kind of listing is that? Platform shoes?

i said that because you can't just determine who's taller with 1 picture.

i've studied hundreds of barkley pics/videos just for fun. depends on era, barkley's footwear is anywhere from 1 inch to 1 3/4 inch lift. his air maxes in 90's were pretty thick.

i never say so and so is 6ft 8 or 6ft 9. i never give a definite number because we will never know.

most likely durant is anywhere from 6ft 9 to 6ft 9 1/2. we will never know. one thing is certain is that he is over 6ft 9 since he was measured at 6ft 9
