Except the Lakers fan :lol :lol
He won't play enough minutes to make that much of a difference.
Some of the Laker fans in this thread...:coleman:
Almost no one thinks this signing makes a large difference.
I agree, but I hope he surprises us. He's only 27, at least we're not signing another old guy like Shaq or JO.
All the morons calling this team "old" are going to be surprised at how young and athletic they are.
All I want for Christmas is a healthy Celtics team come playoff time.

What laker fans are you talking about? Besides the first reply, i dont think 1 Laker fan posted in this thread......
All the morons calling this team "old" are going to be surprised at how young and athletic they are.
Yeah, we have 3 old guys (4 if you count Collins).
The rest of the team is all young blood. It should be one of our more athletic teams in awhile, they built this team for Rondo to run.
No idea why Miami didn't pick him up. Sure, he's shit but then again he's a better shit than Dexter Pittman.
Word is they signed him for the minimum. That means the C's still have the BAE in hand.

Nuts! Looks like we'll be able to outbid other teams to pick up someone else's trash once players start getting waived.
Any players on the hot seat to be waived, bought out or amnestied?
Boston now has 14 players.
Their last roster spot will involve a battle between Kris Joseph, Dionte Christmas, & Jamar Smith. Maybe a few more guys.
I don't want Kris or Dionte to be cut! :(

can players be amnestied mid season?

Too early to tell. Gotta let the season play out and see which teams fall out of the playoff picture.
can players be amnestied mid season?
After a quick Google, I guess not. There is an amnesty period ended on July 17 at 11pm.
I can't think of any players likely to be bought out, no drama.... yet
Lets hope that Milicic don't do something like this again:

I thought the amnesty period is over?
More big man insurance. Celtics should be going for more guard insurance.
I really don't think Celtics need more guard insurance. There's Rondo, Terry, Avery, Lee. If any of them go down, they can play the other young guards more minutes. If two go down, Pierce can always go back to playing SG, move Jeff Green to the 3 and play Garnett as a 4.
kill me plz
Darko is a perfectly good backup center. Id take him on the bulls all day.
Darko is a perfectly good backup center. Id take him on the bulls all day.
yup. and celt fans should hope that now that hes back in a winning environment, he actually puts the effort in to correspond. who knows, though.
This will be interesting.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't like stocking so much guys who play one position. Given the injury wave that has hit the Celtics in the past couple of seasons, maybe it will be a good idea.
Good signing. Dude had really high expectations coming into the league. With a coach like Doc and veteran guys around him, he should have all the tools to have a good season.

Damn, Griffin has that face down pat! On legit fouls like the ones above and on actual flops!

When Darko tryed he was actually a good C. His hook shot starts falling, he blocks a lot of shots and he plays good D. 95% of the time he doesn't try and he will give you nothing.
No idea why Miami didn't pick him up. Sure, he's shit but then again he's a better shit than Dexter Pittman.
a) Useless in their defensive system
b) He might be legitimately insane
All the morons calling this team "old" are going to be surprised at how young and athletic they are.

2 of their 3 best players are 35ish. 6th man is 35. That's a big chunk of minutes.
Rondo and Bradley are fast, no one else really stands out as an athlete. Sure some role players are young and not unathletic, but nothing surprising really.
gotta be better than ryan hollins or whatever his name is.
I doubt he'll play more than 10 minutes in a single game barring some major injuries.
I agree, but I hope he surprises us. He's only 27, at least we're not signing another old guy like Shaq or JO.
27 is damn near old.

I like where this thread is going.
i wish lakers got him
Someone else gets it. Dorko is the most mentally soft player I've ever seen. Unless he is getting pampered by the coach/team mates he completely checks out. KG is going to eat him alive.
LOL at mentally weak.
Darko would slap the shit out of KG if he even tried to talk to him the wrong way.
Darko is actually a good defender. Nice add.
Case for Darko being useful:
Pistons send him away.
Magic send him away.
Grizzlies send him away.
Knicks send him away.
Wolves pay him to stay away.
Bobcats rather bid on Brendan Haywood.
Nets rather signed Andray Blatche for better work ethic and higher basketball IQ.

This will be key. If he listens to Garnett and the two get along in training and it shows on the court, Darko could be a great defensive piece this season (if motivated). Not a bad signing for the minimum. Low risk, high reward type deal.

F@%k Darko. Nobody's worried about Darko.
