You know what really grinds my gears? People taking credit away from Rose after watching a handful of Bulls games every season. I've missed just a handful of Bulls games in the last 5 years. Here's a high level description of Rose vs the rest of the team since his rookie season.
2009/10:
Bulls under Vinny del Negro were just biding the time before they go and sign a big name during the infamous 2010 FA. Rose was still learning to show leadership on the floor. The team respected him, but he struggled in this role and never tried to take over games and deferred to his teammates too much. This was horrible to watch as we'd blow leads all the time and struggled to get any rhythm. It wasn't until a few weeks before the all-star break that he started taking over and we started winning games. Had he been doing that all year, we would have a better record and I'm sure he'd be in the MVP talks.
2010/11:
Bulls acquire 9 FAs and a new coach. Lose Boozer and Noah to injury throughout the season (they combined to miss something like 55 games). Thibs, who is by far the reason we have a good record this year, did not coach offense. At all. Go watch any of the games from that year. Rose, by Thibs own admission, was his plan on offense. If you need further proof, watch how bad our offense was whenever Rose wasn't on the court. Thibs was excellent defensively, but he barely ever did anything on offense. Almost all of his timeouts were taken when the bulls did something stupid defensively, never to get the offense going, because again Rose WAS his offense. This lack of planning on Thibs part caused undue fatigue for Rose and he started breaking down in the playoffs, even starting from the 1st round. Not saying we would've beaten Miami with a fresh Derrick though, after all, our offense still depended too much on Rose.
2011/12:
Starting from game 1 of the season on Xmas day against the Lakers, you could tell Thibs had made some huge adjustments in his offensive planning, as in, he actually had a plan now. The interior passing became excellent and the ball didn't need to be in Rose's hands on every possession for us to score. Due to the excellent coaching we became very productive on offense with or without Rose, though we still needed Rose to facilitate the offense against elite PGs or when we couldn't get the offense going no matter what. Even in his injury ridden season, he brought us back into games several times and hit game winners. Again though, the team wasn

Sorry bra but no. Lebron is the best basketball player on planet earth right now. I dont care if people are tired of him getting mvp, he deserves it. Lebron even deserved it when rose got it last time.
Dont give his mvp to someone else again. It already happened once.

Between these last few posts and my wall of text on the last page, I really don't see how anyone can keep arguing this point unless they're trolling.

Only "updates" I see are the bulls playing their hearts out while injured and winning in the playoffs while that ****boy sits on the bench. He is healthier than the whole team, yet they are out there banging and risking it all.
Thats the kinda guy you f@gs love to defend.

cool, thats your opinion, its been said a million times already. calling me a ****** wont make you right about rose or change those stats.
stay mad.

Re: You know What really "Grinds my gears?"
Again, like I said in the opening post, Chicago is a defensive machine. They bang, they push, and they dont give up. Rose just benefits from their hard work.
If he was playing right now, he would be getting all the credit for their W's right now when in truth, he had nothing to do with it. It was allll defense.

Yeah but your still a ****boy tho.
Anyway, rose is overratted. If any team is afraid of Chicago is not afraid of rose... they are scared of tuff nose grinding defense.

Re: You know What really "Grinds my gears?"
What grinds my gears is that a team that was on a 66-68 win pace with Rose last year and won 62 the season before wins 44 or 45 games and has people acting like it proves Roses impact was overstated as if 15-20 wins worse isnt the usual impact of a HOF guard.

And that... is what really... grinds my gears.

Re: You know What really "Grinds my gears?"
You acting like its crazy, but hes already in the hall of fame. How many NBA MVP's arent in the hall of fame? Plus if you look back at teams who lost a hall of fame level player, 15-20 is basically the average number.
It seems to me that derrick rose, for some reason, is what grinds your gears. Drose played through Many injuries before this season. He had sprained ankles and stomach ulcers throughout his MVP season but he only missed 1 game. As far as i'm concerned he has earned the right to sit as long as he feels like. Dude loves basketball and is a huge competetor, i dont understand why people are so mad about him not playing, especially fans of other teams.

Yeah, he will be in the HOF no matter what. I thought the MVP made it a lock.

Real talk is the best lubricant.
He's accomplished as much as many if not most guards already in. It doesn't take as much as people think. Go see what Dave Bing actually accomplished. Rose replicates his 2010 season 10 times he's probably in without ever being MVP.

Re: You know What really "Grinds my gears?"
You know what really Grinds my gears? If Rose was never hurt, and Chicago was first in their division and 3 overall in the east... He would be ahead of Carmelo and maybe even Lebron (cuz we all hate Lebron) in the MVP race.
People would be carrying on about how he is doing it with a cast of role players and how he makes people around him better.
People would be saying he is better than the likes of Wade because Wade would never be able to have that kinda record with this kinda team at this stage in his career.
People would be saying Kobe needs to take notes.
But now that this team is succeeding on their own... do they get any credit? Hell no. People are just waiting for Rose to get back so they can see a spectacular Dunk.

News Flash!!! Spectacular Dunks and Layups are not what makes Chicago the Chicago bulls good. Cross overs and chest pounding is not what wins games.
Rose is just glider. Nothing else. This team thrives on great defense and consistency. Sharing the ball. Trusting each other.
Many would Argue that Rose will make them a contender. Again, no he wont. What makes them a contender is great defense and consistency. Sharing the ball. Trusting each other.
And that, Insidehoops... is what really Grinds my gears
bump. bulls are currently 9-16 without rose.
this is what "grinds my gears" when people post garbage and believe it themselves.
