Re: KG for Bledsoe & Butler?
May sound like a weird trade but KG makes any team better and that includes the Clippers. DJ goes to the bench, but he has improved this season and is certainly tradeable unlike last year. Plus he can learn a thing or two from KG.
More it sits with me, more I want it. As for Celtics fans in denial saying he would never waive his trade clause... you realize him going to the Clippers makes them the favorites to win it all right? Boston is a tier 2 or 3 team at best right now and for the forseeable future about to go into a full blown rebuild. So not only WOULD he go to the Clippers in LA where he lives at in the offseason and his kids are but.... the Clippers wouldn't be a betrayal like the Lakers may be.
He's 36 and maybe two years from retirement so it's only fair to let him go out with a bang. Clippers traded Cassell to the Celtics to respect him and give him a shot at a ring they couldn't provide and this would be no different. Not to mention Bledsoe is a nice trade asset or even long term asset to keep for Boston. For now a starting backcourt of Bledsoe+Bradley would give teams nightmares while Rondo is out.
Then even if Rondo comes back and isn't traded you got one of the top 2-3 backup PG's in the game with awesome upside and if all else fails he has good trade value to be swung right away for a big.
Ideally the trade would be even bigger so Boston gets more rebuilding pieces, while the Clippers get more win now pieces.
KG+Pierce for Bledsoe+DJ+Butler+Odom. Odom expires at the end of the year so that's 8 mill off the books. Then you have Butler coming off the books for 8 mill the year after. Bledsoe+DJ are still raw but high upside assets for a rebuilding team trying to go young.
Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sullinger
DJ
6th man: Bledsoe
is a fantastic young core.

Imo a third team has to get involved and Boston get something else decent for them to do this.

Saw an interesting trade proposal earlier by somebody on another forum with the Kings as the third team. Clippers got KG+Terry, Kings got Bledsoe+Butler, Celtics got Cousins and somebody else, forgot.
-
Re: KG for Bledsoe & Butler?
Makes zero sense for Celtics unless DeAndre Jordan is involved, which then makes zero sense for the Clippers. I'm calling bs.

I think Rekindle did it in one of his threads. I wonder if the Celtics would want Thompson/Thornton instead, I was thinking maybe along the lines of Portland maybe to try add a little bit of depth getting some of Bostons/Clipps pieces for say Hickson.

Oh maybe it was Rekindle. Yea... I just hope something changes. Honestly I think a great coach would fix most of the Clippers issues but unfortunately our front office is in love with Vinny and will never axe him.
Clippers need to do whatever they can to solidify their chances to at least make the finals so that CP3 will stay.
I find it weird that even during their winning streak he didn't re sign
That's all I can think about too!!! Lets say the clippers get knocked out in the first round again; I guarantee paul is out and howard will follow.

I say first round because needing 7 games to get passed the first round to then be swept in the second sounds so much worse. Clippers had no business in the second round last season.
If CP doesn't make the wcf he WILL most likely not resign.

5 best players injured, got to second round= had no business there? If anything I'd say they had no business getting swept and if healthy would have pushed the Spurs to 6 or 7.

Re: KG for Bledsoe & Butler?
Nope, full-blown no trade. Only four in the NBA this season.
You're right. I see that he and Duncan were added to the list.

Make it happen - so i can hate more on the clippers!

Re: KG for Bledsoe & Butler?
Celts would probably want a legit starting big in return, a center to be more precise.
I don't see the Clips moving DJ, so I don't see how these two teams straight up would do it.
Denver should be lining up to move one of its 3 centers, Moz gonna walk.

Re: KG for Bledsoe & Butler?
Don't see why the Celtics would want Butler for 2 years instead of Odom's expiring contract. I also don't see why the Celtics would want Bledsoe when they have Rondo, but don't the Celtics want Demarcus Cousins? It would make sense for the Celtics to flip Bledsoe for Cousins. On top of that, it doesn't seem like the Kings really care for former ROY Tyreke Evans so why not trade him and try to get some more picks out of it? Clippers could offer Billups, who's barely played and is an expirer, while the Celtics could also offer Jason Terry to the Clippers. The trade would look like this:
Clippers receive: Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry
Celtics receive: Demarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans, Lamar Odom
Kings receive: Eric Bledsoe, Chauncey Billups, all the picks that would be involved in the deal.
Clippers get better specifically with KG anchoring the defense, and Jet being able to replace the punch of the bench Bledsoe was.
Celtics get to go forward with a core built around Rondo/Evans/Cousins/Green and get rid of the Jet who really hasn't worked out.
Kings get rid of two young players they weren't high on and get one back while getting some picks.
Maybe the Kings don't really get much, but I'm just thinking aloud  .

Re: KG for Bledsoe & Butler?
This would be a great trade for the Clippers.
Deandre gums up the paint. If the 2nd big can't help on Griffin because they have to respect Garnett's jumper, Blake will have far more opportunity downlow.
Additionally, we have a big than can run a reliable pick and pop with CP3 (his favorite play) and a guy who plays better defense.
Celtics fans are correct in that other teams could make better offers but what they are failing to see is that with Garnett's No Trade Clause the Celtics would conceivably have very few options on where to trade him (in any).
I've heard that his family lives in LA in the off-season and LA is a great place to live... if he can live in LA and win a championship it would make some sense to allow a trade to the Clippers.
I doubt he wants to go live in OKC (who have better pieces). NYC/MIA have nothing to offer.

Blake Griffin Hyperextended knee, probable torn Meniscus. Chris Paul severe groin pull (Had it near end of season, came back too soon). Caron Butler broken hand. Chauncey Billups out torn Achilles. Mo Williams torn ligament in shooting hand thumb.
That's 5 players and they so happen to be our 5 best players. The minute CP3+Blake got injured their performances for the rest of the playoffs plummeted and the Clippers blew a 3-1 series over the lead just about.

What? They haven't been high on them, especially Cousins who's been in numerous trade rumors. Like I said, maybe the Kings aren't getting much back. You can remove Evans, Billups, and Terry from the deal, and it is a more realistic trade.

Except for the fact they have said multiple times that DMC is not for trade :wtf:
-
Re: KG for Bledsoe & Butler?
kg is probably not going anywhere so this deal makes way more sense at this time next year. cp will have already signed his contract, butler will be an expiring contract, and bledsoe will be on the final year of his rookie contract when the clippers really have to trade him.

ESPN was reporting yesterday that no discussion ever took place.
But that's the sports media...just come up with random shit and no one bothers to hold you accountable for it.
