Yeah, but that's more acceptable.
LA is a transient city. If you're a Celtics fan who moves from the NE area to LA, I wouldn't expect you suddenly become a Lakers fan.
The dumb thing is when you you have a person who was born and raised in Manhattan, still lives there. and they're Clipper fans.....
It's like, WTF are you doing? You have a home team. Why are you rooting for the Clippers?
Touche.
Celtics fans that live in LA make me want to puke. It's like.....WTF are you doing? :oldlol:
Is that really a bandwagon fan tho :lol
Yeah, but that's more acceptable.

That's acceptable in my book as well. Being born and raised in LA YET you're a Boston fan? Different story.
I always get shit for this, but how do you root for a team with no history with where you live?
I don't understand how there can be a Heat fan in Minnesota with no connections to South Florida unless you bandwagon. Even if you started to root for them when they weren't good, how do you become a fan of them?

I know people who became phin fans from outside of florida from watching dan marino and remained phin fans. I wouldn't call them bandwagon fans today.
I'm not a LeBron stan. This statement is not true at all.
You're in Florida you are excluded
I'm talking about these idiots who were Cavs fans since '03 and became Heat fans in 2010
There was a pic going around on twitter about a Cav fan his bio said #TeamCavs then when Bron joined the Heat his bio said #TeamHeat...somebody put those two pics together lol it was hilarious

maybe it's possible for someone to live in South Florida then move away? :lebronamazed:

I said no connections to South Florida

I'm from Dallas I've always been an Ohio State fan cuz I always wanted to go there...
It's not about who you root for...its more of when you started rooted for them and if you stick with them when they suck
I know people who became phin fans from outside of florida from watching dan marino and remained phin fans. I wouldn't call them bandwagon fans today.
I know some too, but what makes them stick wit the team after Marino after he retired, especially since the Fins have been down lately.
I said no connections to South Florida
oh haha my bad. Well there's only 32 cities with NBA teams so it's not unreasonable to just pick a team/player you like and root for them
How do you guys feel bout people born in the states but don't werent born or dont live in an NBA city or state?
I fall into that category

What happens if you live in Transylvania or Tokyo? :confusedshrug:
You have no connection to ANY NBA team. If you're a basketball fan, you're probably going to have a favorite team or favorite player/players.
Whatever the reason they have to favor one team, who are you to say that's not a legit enough reason?
Even in America. What if you live in Des Moines Iowa? Iowa doesn't have a team. Why can't you be a Heat fan or a Grizzlies fan?
Does people who are fans of players only and follow whichever team they're on get regarded as bandwagon fans?

I'm just wondering what makes people stick with the teams after those players retire, or move on. How many Heat fans who became Heat fans in 2010 will remain fans after the Heat stop being good?
I know some too, but what makes them stick wit the team after Marino after he retired, especially since the Fins have been down lately.
My guess is they just decided to settle in and if this was that was their first team to root for even better. I personally can't root for other sports team outside of miami/forida/US national teams. That's why I can't get into soccer leagues like EPL (Except following some of the USMNT players in there) and there are not florida based MLS teams :( . I just started getting into hockey so I've just started following the panthers although I know they're nothing close to world beaters.

Why does it matter?
Seriously. In what possible way does it affect you if they stay fans or don't?
Does people who are fans of players only and follow whichever team they're on get regarded as bandwagon fans?
Yup...look at Bron stans for example
Why does it matter?

It doesn't if those people are quality and reasonable posters. If they are just trolls or LeBron stans like a lot of them here, they give the real Heat fans a bad name, and people assume every Heat fan are like those people.

He's feeling insecure about his clinging to Bron Bron's nut sack, while supposedly being a Laker fan. Knowing full well if he was a legit Laker fan, LeBron and Miami would arguably be public enemy number one. His stanship of LeBron and fierce argumentation over him basically exposes him as a non biased "Laker Fan". So the projection leaks through in grilling a poster about bandwagon fandom.
Yup...look at Bron stans for example
Yeah, but people take that too far. Before LeBron joined the Heat, I didn't give a flaming bag of dogshit about LeBron James, yet I constantly get accused of being a bandwagon fan who switched from being a Cavs fan to a Heat fan. I've never for a day in my life rooted for any fcuking Cleveland team.
I just don't like people labelling anybody who likes any team as a bandwagon fan when they don't even know what they're talking about.
I see people call Pauk a bandwagon fan. Ok. That's fine. If you've seen with your own eyes that he switched from being a Cavs fan to a Heat fan, then you're not just guessing it out of nowhere.
I've seen people try to call LikeABosh a bandwagon fan though. How the fck would you know? You've never seen him cheer for some other team. You don't know his past.

By the way is there a way I can follow a certain club in the EPL or if not get all games from the US? Maybe I'll try one day to get into it
Why are you getting all bent out of shape for? :oldlol:
Uh, I'm not. We're having a conversation. People know EXACTLY what my history is dog.

Like I said, we know who the bandwagon fans/trolls are. We can tell by their posts. If they post reasonable and quality posts as an average fan, then nobody has a problem. However, that is not the case here. Many of the post-2010 Heat fans troll and dickride LeBron. Now I am a post 2010 Heat fan on ISH, but I don't do that, and people don't jump on me as much for being a bandwagon fan. I'm just saying those people make the real fans look bad because people generalize all Heat fans with those people.
IDC if you bandwagon the Heat as long as you at least be a solid poster here.

It's a theory. I've never met a legit Laker fan who hates Kobe the way you do. I mean even if you don't like him, you'd have to respect that man and what he's done for your franchise for a decade and a half.

Why are you so but hurt?
All you ever do on here is ride Lebron's nuts, troll Laker/ Kobe topics, Melo/knicks topics and Okc/ Durant topics, you bash any and evey player that is a threat to Lebron and make attention grabbing ploys with every post you make.
You're a Lebron Stan who claims to be a Lakers fan, yet you admitted before that you stopped being a laker fan after Shaq left.. What a joke

Oh, was that right after you admitted you stopped liking women after you watched "The Crying Game".....
See, I can make up shit that you never said too.
Believe it or not, I say exactly what I believe to be true about Melo/Kobe/Durant.....
Well, maybe not Kobe. I admittedly do ramp that up a little for effect.

This is what I'm saying. I don't mind if he bandwagons the Heat, but if he does this, then people start saying all Heat fans do this, and we all get a bad rep for it.

Lol. How ME does telling the obvious truth make YOU look bad? :confusedshrug:
Yeah, I say Melo is an overrated selfish under-achiever and that Durant get babied by the officials. You gonna tell me I'm wrong? G'head. Tell me I'm wrong about that.
btw, call me crazy, but I'm not sure your "rep" on a forum should be a major priority.

And since you admittingly don't like Kobe it's pretty safe to assume this is where you stopped rooting for the Lakers?
I mean really, you're a fan of a team but you hate the one guy who's been a focal point of their past 5 championships.. i mean really?
It doesn't if those people are quality and reasonable posters. If they are just trolls or LeBron stans like a lot of them here, they give the real Heat fans a bad name, and people assume every Heat fan are like those people.
I feel for you... Trust me, I do. We dealt with them for the better part of a decade. That is the downside to having a really great player on your team, unfortunately.

I don't "hate" Kobe. He's CERTAINLY not my ideal choice for a franchise player, but I don't hate the guy.
Full disclosure, I hope when Kobe and LeBron's contracts are up, Kobe retires and the Lakers sign LeBron.

Yes, you're right. I've never rooted for a team this good. All my teams have always been under the radar or mediocre. This is all new to me.
yeah because i ride Lebron's nuts and bash every player that is a thread to Lebron
He speaks the truth nearly all the post I see from you are anti lebron or digs at him and the heat. No idea why you rep a tronto homer when you never talk about them.
