This whole thing is a joke. ESPN is a joke.
Wade at #6. Not sure I can agree with having him behind Westbrook. Wade's been at least just as good as Westbrook most of the season (if not better) and the Heat have the best record in the league.
Wade > Westbrook
While I disagree with Melo at #9 and behind Harden, I'm getting a kick out of how much it's pissing off Knicks fans.
DAAAMN ESPN moved Westbrook, into Top 5? They were/are his biggest haters. Guess they are not nearly as blind and bashful as I thought.
But cmon when you take all around game, defense and team record into account, Paul and Kobe have no case over Wade. One guy missed 12 games on top of getting torched by every elite PG he faced and losing to every playoff rival past few months. The other is fighting for an 8th seed with that roster while giving 0 effort defensively.
But I guess their reputation is worth more than actual performance and wins, watch Kobe and Paul get 1st team All NBA and All defense again. :oldlol:

It was expected. They had him at 17 in the preseason. It's widely known ESPN is biased against NY teams.
Anthony and Duncan, should be higher IMO.

I'd say Westbrook has been better than Wade for the last 2 seasons now.
3 different lists, lets see who wins. :oldlol:
none...Wade at #6
thank you sir
Dirk too low, but he was injured so whatever
remaining will be:
1. James
2. Durant
3. Wade
4. Kobe
5. Paul
6. Westy
okay, take 2
1. James
2. Durant
3. Kobe
4. Paul
5. Westy
okay, take 2
1. James
2. Durant
3. Kobe
4. Paul
5. Westy
Nope gonna be...
Lebron
Durant
Paul
Kobe
Westbrook
ESPN jizzes over Paul more than Kobe, they are still stuck in 2008.

I expect this too.
Watch Westbrook actually be #2, instead. :lol

Let's try something different. ESPN wants to be original and tell us how wrong they were, so they will go:
1. James
2. Kobe
3. Durant
4. Westbrook
5. Paul
They can push the Durant vs. Westbrook agenda (whose team is OKC) and the Kobe is back (he has never been away) agenda this way.

I love Westbrook but whoever puts him above Paul is crazy. And Kobe above Paul, Durant, Westbrook when he is fighting for 8th seed is beyond insane.
5) Kobe
4) Paul
3) Durant
2) LeBron
1) Westbrook
Is the obvious answer.

Hey, it's not my opinion. It's just a scenario I can see happening. It's great for pushing agendas and selling some advertising time later on discussing 'the validity' of their own opinions, with so-called experts taking sides, etc.

Not even ESPN is that crazy, but then again if the Kobestan army on this forum is any indication, Kobe at #2 wouldn't be crazy to the majority aka casual fans.
casuals would probably have Kobe over Durant
hope ESPN doesn't do that...
5) Kobe
4) Paul
3) Durant
2) LeBron

This.
I will eat my shoe if it aint :pimp:

To the casual fans Kobe was a top 3 player of all time two or three years ago in an ESPN poll. No, really. After ring #5 they ran this poll and Kobe was behind Jordan and Magic. I think he would be down at #5 on that list now if the poll was to be taken tomorrow, but I actually think the casual fan has LeBron as #1 and Kobe as #2 in the NBA today.
CP3 has gotten really overrated in my opinion.
1) LeBron
2) Durant
3) Kobe
4) Wade
5) Melo
6) Paul
7) Westbrook
Another horrible job by ESPN.
Next 5 are going to be revealed on NBA Coast to Coast on ESPN2.
It starts at 7! Almost time.
They did an ok job, outside Kobe in Top 5 and Parker further than Duncan, and Melo behind Harden/Kobe/Parker.

Everyone is going to judge ESPN on their own opinions. That doesn't make much sense after one has seen enough such lists. It's far more interesting to me to think about whether the list is a 'good one' for the general audiance or a good one for ESPN itself.
A list is good for the general audience if the end result reflects a hypothetical poll taken by 'everyone' who reads the lists. A list is good for ESPN if it creates controversy among the fanbase, because controversy sells. But how much controversy? By no means huge, because they have to remain 'experts' in the eyes of the general public.
A think ESPN does a good job if at the end of the day we say: well, this is an OK list, I'd give it 8 points on a scale of 10. That's a lot better than 9 or 10. A messge board is no message board if everyone agrees. The same is trus for such lists.
Generally accepted facts are not much fun to have a discussion of.
yep
if every poster here did a top-30 list, not too many of them would be the exact same
for them to make a list that even 50% of people here agree with is mathematically impossible
it can only create controversy, no matter how the list reads

Well said.
It's whatever to me at this point.
My top 5 would be
1. lebron
2. wade
3. durant
4. harden
5. paul
Can't be mad with Wade at @ #6. Would be higher if he had a bigger role, but still a solid placing. I personally think he should be top 5, but Kobe's been on a tear all season despite the mediocrity of his teammates, 'Bron and Durant are absolute monsters, along with CP3 just owning. The last one Westbrook I feel should be switched with Wade, however Westbrook has been great this year, averaging what, 23ppg and 8asts? The dude's a stud either way.
Westbrook is number 5
Kobe is 4!
1 LeBron
2 Durant
3 Paul
4 Kobe
5 Westbrook
6 Wade
7 Parker
8 Harden
9 Carmelo
10 Duncan
From twitter
lol ESPN.
That channel is for children. Try growing up and being mature like me.
Wade should be over Westbrook!
3. CP3
2. KD
1. Lebron
Legler just used "defense" as one of the reasons Kobe should be ahead of Paul....ROFL
Nope gonna be...
Lebron
Durant
Paul
Kobe
Westbrook

you were correct
1) LeBron
And then literally, for me ... no distinction between Kobe, Paul, Wade, Westbrook, Harden and Durant.
Given knowledge, experiece, and potential ability, I'd still go with Kobe at number 2. Especially when he's playing the RIGHT caliber of ball he knows how to play, yet chooses to ignore at times.
