Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
So the AMAZING and star studded Knicks were pushed to 6 games by a team without their best player (Rondo) and two AARP, old and withering away players. Come on dude. You're just mad that the Nets have a better team than the Nets man. Come on now. Until the Knicks get rid of Amare and get a legit point guard, they aren't going anywhere. But Miami is still ahead of everyone. If Wade is healthy come next postseason, Miami is still the favorite.

This thread is book marked, when the nets have a better winning season, and when they progress further in the play offs.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
So we're basing the Knicks success on their regular season?
Yo you lost in a convincing fashion to the Pacers. Thus far I don't see them making any moves to make the Knicks suddenly amazing.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
Here's the thing, KG and Pierce had to lead the Celtics all by themselves after Rondo went down. They had no other help. No one expects them to lead the Nets. It's still going to be Deron Williams' team. KG and Pierce are coming to help. They'll be playing with Brook Lopez, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. Way more help than they've had the past two seasons. The Nets are stacked.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
I'd put money on the Nets having more wins than the Knicks next year.
Lots of weapons, and the potential starting 5 looks nuts.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
Yeah today at work, all of the Knick fans were saying how the Nets still aren't good enough.. how the Nets will still win 45 game sand the Knicks 55+.
I asked them how they would feel if Nets stayed put and Knicks got KG, Pierce, and Terry and kept Felton, Shumpert, Carmelo, and Tyson.
They cited some mumbo jumbo about 2 championships over 40 years ago...
Fact is... Nets got rid of Wallace for Pierce... KG for Reggie Evans... Terry for Marshon Brooks... and they can keep Hump, Keith Bogans, and that other kid.
Old or not... they traded old for old... but upgraded talent.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
I think that the funniest part about the but hurt Knicks fans is that they were all Nets fans during the early-mid 2000s and if anyone says they werent, then theyre lying. I guess they should have stuck with the right team instead of switching the minute the Knicks started hitting some 3s. Another funny part is how if the Knicks hadnt gotten ridiculously hot at the beginning of the season, they would be a 5th seed after Chicago. And I dont know why theyre talking about AARP when theyre team is old as Sh*t too and theyre old guys arnt even productive.
It still hasnt hit me how stacked this starting lineup is. Paul Peirce is the worst starting player on the Nets... just let that soak in for a few minutes.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
on paper the nets are definitely better than the knicks.

No knicks fans were nets fans back in the 2000's nice job making shit up. And the knicks have gotten way younger, no thomas,no kidd,no wallace so the knicks are old talk is a thing of the past.

LMAO yes they were. If you asked anyone back in 2002-2006 Nets or Knicks, every single person would say Nets, especially anyone who is in college or graduate school now and grew up with the Nets making Finals appearances while the Knicks had Isaiah groping people and Eddy Curry eating people. Also, those so called old guys made the All-Star team last year and almost beat the Knicks as the only players on that Celtics team along with Green.

Such bullshit :lol no real knicks fans were switching to the nets, and give me a break the celtics were primed to swept off the court even without jr in game 4. We can go back and forth all day but i dont see how adding a bunch of washed up 40 year old vets makes the nets contenders.

No, just no. It was absolutely Embarrassing to be a Knicks fan in the 2000s, everyone I new was a Nets fan (most of them are Knicks "fans" now), even my Dad who grew up watching Walt Frazier would just shrug his shoulders when the Knicks played. And yes they do make us contenders, we won as many games as the 3rd seed last season with Deron injured for half the year and our main problem was shooting, defense, toughness and production from the forward positions. This trade literally solves all of those problems, while adding a legitimate role player in Terry. The Heat arnt unbeatable anymore now that Wade is declining, the Pacers took them to 7 games and we swept the Pacers in the regular season with the spacing NIGHTMARE of Wallace and Evans at the 3 and 4.
The Nets worst starter is Paul Pierce, while the Knicks are starting Iman Shumpert at small forward. Just let that soak in for a minute.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
While you have a semi-valid point, you just said that the Knicks are building form "within" and then mentioned the only two first round picks the Knicks have had in the last eternity. You're an idiot and make Knicks fans look bad.

Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
There really is no balloon to to deflate. Pierce is pretty much done. His bet asset offensively was the fact that off the dribble he was able to get to the rim with his hesitation moves. He's old now and that hasn't worked in a couple of years...hence why he gets so many charges these days. I like KG but honestly he can't play more than 25-28 min per gamer. Yeah in the playoffs he might be a stud, but through an 82 game season he really isn't going to effect much as he won't play enough minutes.
Pierce is just done. He was never any kind of athlete and he's now 36. Driving he gets a charge more than he gets the foul call. The nets are frankly a mess and I think it's fun. I'm curious to see what the hell they do with this line up. At the very least it should be...interesting.
-
Re: I hate to take the air out of Nets balloon BUT
Pierce isn't done. He put up 17/6/5 last season. I watched the game when he dropped 40 points on 16 shots last year...dude can still ball.
Wallace is a good defender and energy guy, but he couldn't shoot for crap last year. Nobody even guarded him on the perimeter. Pierce will do wonders for the floor spacing (not that I want him being just a spot up shooter).
