It's different for a soon to be #1 pick who is perfecting said craft and actually studying/taking context and sport history/shot clock situation/ on court demeanor/ defensive strategy into account, than a fat homer stan trying to win a Kobe/Lebron/Jordan argument.
Outside of saying "studying the craft", what makes you say that a certain "homer" hasn't been studying the history of the game, basketball rules, situations, etc... ? Besides, it wasn't just them, but the younger generation coming up. I bet there are kids right now who were born in 2004 who will say Jordan is the best too right now and if they really want to be a great basketball player, their view will get held highly.
Magic Johnson is also a former #1 overall pick and he's been blasted on here for his "flip-flopping" and otherwise lukewarm basketball understanding.
It's good Wiggins has an opinion. Lot of people would agree with it. But I think he's saying what he's saying from what he's seen and heard, not that that's a bad thing. Who wouldn't want to emulate Jordan ? There's much tape out there on the Wilt's, Kareem's, Russell's, Magic's and Bird's... Jordan is usually accumulated as the best and he's probably seen a lot of Kobe Bryant and other greats. It's only natural he would view them as the best that he's seen/heard.
For me personally, I like to formulate an opinion with what I can gather (factual, little to no bias in an opinion from quotes, etc...). It could be an opinion just like Wiggins or different.
Wiggins will be a bigger bust than Len Bias.
Holy shit Silkk.
Kobe as Nas is a bad comparison. Nas' best album was his first one, Illmatic. Kobe wasn't even good enough to start for the Lakers when he came to LA. Plus who even talks about Nas anymore? Im sure there are way better comparisons.
Life is Good, the album Nas released 18 years into his career, sold 150k first week :facepalm :facepalm

I agree with everything especially the bolded. The difference between us and him is always going to be that he was successful in putting it into practice. Actions will always hold heavier. Opinions are opinions, but I like to believe that you don't get that good without copying the absolute greatest(which is subject to opinion); while taking into account that every other great has something just as valuable if not more valuable in their games to emulate.
I'm not gonna be too long winded here. Because the truth of the matter is. You can get a board of 50 experts, hall of famers, and extremely knowledgeable fans. Have them come to a decision and at the end of the day it will be "wrong" as long as one person thinks that. You put this argument on the path to becoming really meta lol.
there's something called video's..... And if he said "Kobe's the best player ever" you would be bashing him for not saying Jordon..... Idiot.
Ad hominems are truly the mark of an intelligent mind.
And the second sentence illustrates that you've never actually read any posts of mine and that you made a statement without knowing what you're talking about.
Shocker.
Wiggins is a very smart kid.. Wish him to follow Kobe's path and not LeBron if he want to be more successful and a great player..
Wiggins is right.
Wiggins knows basketball.
Kobe shot 70% at the rim in 2013 AND had the best shooting numbers in the mid-range area. Very Jordan-esque indeed. :applause:
I said it 20times, I'll say it again...Wiggins is the next Kobe/Jordan/Wade type player...And Wiggins confidence is amazing. And ofcource you would wanna play against Kobe, he's the greatest of his era...Although Brons era is now.
Its like
Kobe= Nas
LeBron= Wayne
Wiggins= Kendrick
Jordan= 2pac
fixed
He said that Iverson is his fav player ever

Oh I see.
Kobe tries to emulate Jordan in literally every facet of his life, right down to his mannerisms and voice tone. So of course the little kids are going to say something like this.
Oh stfu with that crap. Really did Kobe get his pops killed over his gambling debts???
Any how with all respect to Wiggins....he was not around really with Jordan in his prime. Though info think his opinion is right.
Kobe had the best shooting numbers in the mid-range area.
You know, kobe overall fg% was below the midrange % of LeBron, so this is clearly crap :lol
"closest thing" is still TOO FAR AWAY.
that's how good Jordan was.
:cheers:
And MJ would be Rakim. Ya'll young niqqas don't know, but ya betta learn.

Niqqa are you serious with this shit? His pops was killed on the side of the road by two kids in NC. :facepalm
Did MJ rape a girl? Yeah, that shit sounds stupid, right?
How would he know though?
Kobe - Jay-Z / Everybody knows him, and from how popular he is you'd think he's a Top 3 All-Time at what he does, when he really isn't. People thought he was done, but proved the haters wrong this year.
LeBron - Drake / Hated by lots of hip-hop/basketball fans when they really shouldn't be.
Wiggins - Kendrick Lamar / The leader of the next generation.
-------
MJ - 2Pac / GOAT
You know, kobe overall fg% was below the midrange % of LeBron, so this is clearly crap :lol
ether:applause:
loool, when Kobe wins his 6th ring, then there will be a legit argument for him being right behind Jordan as 2nd GOAT. Lebronytes will throw a fit.

Agreed. If Kobe wins another title and Finals MVP making it 6 titles 3 finals MVPs, Along with More Allstar, All NBA, All Defensive teams than Jordan, and if in 3 seasons if he scores more in the league than Jordan and reaches 40,000 points, if you aren't a hater, it would be hard factually to deny Kobe that 2nd Spot.
Yet this is ISH, where they ignore Larry Bird saying Kobe is top 5, but listen to Nelly..smh.

Larry Bird also said that LeBron was well on his way to overtaking Jordan, so I'm not sure I trust his judgement. Past greats have shown very little aptitude for analyzing the game (exhibit one being MJ's GMing :lol)
I'd do a Jordan = Common, Black Thought, Talib Kweli, or KRS One comparison.
Biggie was aight, but ripped off Pac's style, not that I was crazy about Pac -- except for "I get around." That shit was hot.
There is no current Hip Hop artist period. Sh*t's been deader than dead for over a decade.
