I wanna punch you in the face.
Dr dre. It isn't about outraged responces. It's about mentally ill kids needing to be seperated from normal kids. You writing walls of texts because I agree with not only this woman's stance, but what most people actually think about this situation isn't even needed. If you knew how to read, you would understand why I made observational comparisons. Me saying "old drunk" and other words were not to say "this is EXACTLY what the kid is" but to simply state that the reaction these children recieve and the non normal acts of this child would be viewed how society reacts to schizo's and crazy drunks or ape's.
This made the news here in Canada. I know its not the only person that probably feels that way but i just cant believe how heartless some people can be. :banghead:
I hope she will get what she deserves. Im sure its already hard enough for the mother to have to take care and deal with the needs of her child.

Okay, then please tell me to which mental illnesses this idea should apply, and how you'd define the other group of "normal kids". So how should this work in a practical context?
What? Your're quarantined when you need special attention due to virus or infection so your seperated from others, JUST like mentally ill kids in school. How can you not see the correlation?
Holy shit this is baffling. Done trying to talk sense into you.
I think freedom of speech should exist, but not anonymous freedom of speech. Even though it would cut down on trolling and activity in general (lessen the psychopaths), I would prefer that all internet communication was tied to something. It would be pretty easy to watermark a sig onto devices associated with your IP/name.
That obviously has little to do with this letter, but it's the same idea.
Someone I know has an special needs child and published a book about it. I think the book was well received. I really feel it's exploitation, though. It's okay to, as a writer, self exploit but to exploit your special needs child is bogi.
That being said, it is kind of ****ed up if this person is just throwing her special needs child out the door without supervision. But I think this letter is fake.

Perhaps he should have said "Blacks have exclusive all blacks only colleges all around the Unites States" at which point you would have said, "yeah but they don't HAVE to go to college for free, they could pay their own way at a white college if they WANTED TOO". At which point I would agree with you, then question why were talking about blacks going to college in a thread about anonymous letters to a mentally ill child's mother...
...But I digress...
..Well played sir..

I think you might be the kid she's writing about.
I have a feeling some immature kids wrote this. I have a hard time thinking that a mature grown up was actually insensitive enough and took this much of her time to actually do this.
You'd be surprised. I screen letters to the editor occasionally and the depths of human stupidity, intolerance and ignorance often astounds me.
I sensed a "p!ssed off mother" vibe to this letter, not the work of a kid. The phrase about no one ever loving him and how "she won't live forever"...
Yeah, I think this person is being honest about her place in the neighborhood (a mother).
Starface,
I had the benefit of attending a very integrated elementary school as a child. From grades pre-K through 5, I was surrounded by ethnic and racial diversity, along with physical and mental handicaps of all makes and models. After the first couple weeks of pre-K (I assume) it was no longer something abnormal to me. Kids with severe autism were just another element on the playground at recess.
I thank my mom all the time for allowing me the benefit of growing up in a place like that. This woman could take some cues from those children on that playground about how to deal with situations slightly outside of your initial comfort zone. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.
Separation is not the answer... Integration and education is.

You're a horrible person. You're also ignorant beyond belief, I seriously cannot believe the stupidity that you just laid out for us in this thread. You're like a throwback to 1850 when they locked up deaf people for safe keeping.
I'd tell you to shove your opinions up your ass but I doubt if you can get it past your head which is obviously taking up most the space.
But instead here's what I suggest you do, go take some time, give a bit of yourself to the special olympics group, go shag cones on a soccer field or ref a basketball game, do something, won't cost you a penny except for the gas to get there and then get back to me and tell me what you think of the kids you want to quarantine from the rest of society.

I don't understand how my opinion on this matter makes me horrible. I'm not saying anything differently than what people think to themselves when they see a kid who is obviously mentally ill walking down the street screaming "durp durp durp". Some people say "aww", some people move their kids away from this mentally ill kid, and even some people laugh.
Would you want this kid around your children:

Look at that^^^^. You seriously telling me that if this kid was doing this in a park around your children you wouldn't be a little in fear for your kids safety? Every parent of normal kids would be watching in horror hoping this kids parents are around to tame him. Most of you would walk over and immediately grab your children from the scene, lie and act as if you wouldn't, lie and act like this kid should be around normal kids. Go ahead, lie to yourselves to personally feel better. Freakin blokes you are.
dionysus is 100% right .. I'm sure the problem everyone's having more so than anything is her tone in that letter .. it was a little over the top and nasty .. but it was accurate .. I don't wanna have to be hearing or seeing anyone walking around acting like that kid in the ^^video in my neighborhood or someone walking around yelling and cursing .. people talk about being considerate to the kid's feelings .. but you also have to be considerate of everyone else's
It seems like this kid is left unattended in the front yard and there may be other kids there playing. It's more like a safety issue here, we don't know how old this kid is and what he can do to younger kids if they were to encounter.
I'm not sure what's worse, that letter, or this donysus troll.

I actually agree, but maybe you haven't realized one thing so far...people are different. So there's really no reason to believe the kid in the letter is behaving like the one in the link. No talk about physical aggression or anything. That's the whole point. It was only about a sound she doesn't like. Is it really that loud? Don't know, according to the letter it's not about volume but the fact that it's "not normal" mostly. I mean we've all seen "normal" kids lying on the gound all screaming and sh*t because they want something. Perfectly normal. Change the pitch of the sound and people should go all berserk on it because they're annoyed?
I'm not sure what's worse, that letter, or this donysus troll.
It's not warranted to be angry at the guy, but the lack of any kind of sense in his posts is just sad. I don't mind politically non correct opinions, if there's at least a bit of reasoning behind them. Like if someone hates ethnic group x, country y or people with condition z, I don't mind that if they have good reasons for that. The opinion itself is not the problem, but the endless stupidity behind it.
If I had an annoying autistic kid outside my home making shit loads of noise, I'd be pissed. Instead of writing a letter, I'd talk to the mother and tell her to control where you let your child play and the noise he makes before I file a complaint.
Look, I'm not being insensitive, but these are things we think about in our head without saying it outloud. Imagine frankenstein coming outside yelling in a Yette voice and there's kids outside trying to play but their afraid? I'm not saying put this mentally handicapped kid to sleep, I'm just saying the parent of that kid needs to isolate him/her. Let it play in the backyard and watch TV or go to the park.
Sometimes, people just need to learn when not to voice out their opinion. What a dumb ass. GTFO here man.

These type of people make a damn good reason why Aliens won't talk to us.
All I gotta say is, put yourself in his shoes, then we'll see.
This isn't just a ME problem, It's a problem for children trying to play outside. Mentally I'll kids are like old drunks or Schizophrenia patients. Imagine a old drunk standing outside while your're cooking out with family and friends and he's yelling explicitives at the top of his lungs acting like an ape? Everyone will be looking at him, no one would want to approach him or hang out with him, and everyone would talk about him being crazy within their group.
He'll be that guy that 2 people walk by and 1 of them whispers "don't walk to close, that guys a nut job". THIS is how normal children would look at a mentally ill kid. I'am not condemning the mentally impaired kid, I'm just merely stating truth as it pertain's to society.
You just need a good dick up your ass. Don't worry, it'll come ... time will tell.
Generally, I don't get involved in threads once they get this long, in large part because there's really only so many opinions one can have on any particular topic, and you hit about five pages, and you've pretty much seen them all.
But in this case, A) I felt compelled to comment, and B) I didn't read everything because it devolved into pretty heavy trolling pretty quick.
In the third post in here, Guy points out that he believes this was the work of some immature kids. Basically saying he doesn't believe an adult can be this immature. I tend to agree with him. Not that adults aren't disgusting, and wouldn't be capable of thinking this, but saying it, particularly in the manner in which it's expressed, is a little tough for me to believe. The grammatical mistakes, along with the tone of the letter, all the extra punctuation and the such, just feels like some punk middle school kids. And the concerns within the letter are sort of centered around kids.
Secondly, this letter claims to be written by a mother of multiple kids. Now I'm of the age that where I have many friends who are mothers. I coach youth sports. I know a lot of moms. I know a lot of good ones, and I know a lot of terrible ones. But I don't know a single mother who would say this to another mother about their kid. Not one.
None of that excuses what was said, or makes up for how hurt I'm sure the recipient was. But if they do find out who what I'm guessing are kids are, I would think a harsh punishment to maybe learn them something is more in order than if it were in fact a grownup, in which case I'm not sure what I would do. Kids are mean and without sense for most of their kiddness. I know I was. We make fun of fat kids, and dumb kids, and poor kids, and ugly kids. It's part of the poor self esteem issue kids have, and the hope is somewhere they feel bad about it, and grow out of it and not turn into assholes as adults.
Also, I've dealt with a few special ed kids over the years. My college was a host for the special olympics and jr. special olympics for years, and I volunteered there. I worked at a summer daycare for my local YMCA, and got to see the occasional challenged kid mixed in with the rest of the community, and it wasn't the best of the daycares, so we weren't getting the best kids. It was frustrating as hell, but you do the best you can, and you teach the kids as best you can, from both ends. I remember having a challenged kid who went through a spate of exposing himself in the locker room getting ready for the pool. It wasn't comfortable, but you discipline him, and then try to explain to the rest of the kids why it's not fair to hold a grudge for something that obviously bothered them. And coaching basketball and football, I've come across more than a few other lesser issues. ADD. Turrets. People are different for all sorts of reasons. It's part of life, and you have to learn to deal with it. And we have to teach our kids to deal with it.

Finally someone with a brain post.:applause:
My point exactly. I also don't agree with how the mother went about the letter completely, but she has a right to be worried for normal children's sakes.
I also like how the ISH pulls one big wanking circle and label me a troll because my opinion isn't politically correct. My opinion is actually what goes on in most folks mind.

Are you able to comprehend the difference between making a statement about a single case (like your link) and people falling into the category of "mental illness" in general?
lol@ people acting like disabled kids are the only kids in the neighborhood shouting expletives or making noise.
This. If you're a drunk dumbass shouting stuff in a soccer stadium, that's perfectly acceptable. If your dog is barking all day, who cares if it's annoying? Such a sweetie. Tourettes? Get the f*ck outta here!
