:applause: :applause: :applause:
Supreme lack of Perfect Dark in this thread.
Not enough Goldeneye listed. Probably just too young for it to have meant anything.
Perfect dark >>>>>>>>>>>> GoldenEye. Yes I know there both rare games, but Perfect dark did everything better then Goldeneye, and allowed you to play classic characters, play classic levels and use classic guns from Goldeneye.
My list:
Starfox 64
Perfect Dark
Rome: Total War (another one severely lacking in this list)
Probably Mariokart or Supersmash bros based off game play time.
Fallout 3/New Vegas and The hitman series, especially number 3, deserves a mention too.
Zelda: Orcarina of Time
Mass Effect Series
Elder Scrolls Series
Dark Age of Camelot
Suikoden II
Smash Bros
Perfect Dark/Time Splitters 2
Uncharted/Last Of Us
Could Probably trade Zelda: Ocarina of Time for any of those
Edit: Forgot i already said my 4 awhile ago. still pretty much the same haha. Just forgot some games.
Also Conkers Bad Fur Day would be up there too. Great game

Good stuff. Haven't played it enough to make my list.
Portal (1 and 2)
Tekken Series
Half Life 2
Mario Series
As long as we're talking about franchises:
GTA
Zelda
Metal Gear Solid
Mario Kart
runners-up: The Last of Us and L.A. Noire. God, I love those games.
GTA (Vice City if it's one game)
Zelda (1)
Uncharted (2)
Resident Evil (1)
I could go a number of ways on a few of those spots. The Last of Us. Metroid. Red Dead. I also have fond memories of Twisted Metal that probably far outweigh the quality of the game, if we're talking era to era.

Morrowind...talk about a true adventure. No hand holding, huge game, diverse areas. I hope one day this game is remastered professionally.

My first foray into a true open world game, I was young, it completely enveloped me.
I really really tried to like Morrowind, but for some reason I could never get into it. The combat system felt awkward and the quests were so generic and boring. It was advertised as a massive open world, but the world and npcs that inhabited it felt lifeless and robotic. I kept hearing glowing reviews left and right of the game so I just kept playing. I even searched and downloaded some of the best mods for it but even that didn't really help in the end. I did like the visuals/graphics at the time and just exploring some of the cities and places was eye-opening, but it wasn't enough to justify sinking more time into the game :(

Legend of Zelda
Half Life

Grand Theft Auto
Individual Games:
Doom 2
Diablo 2
GTA: San Andreas
GTA 3 (and/or above). Pioneered the 3D,open world, open ended role playing genre.
Halo 2. Pioneered the online multiplayer FPS.
Diablo 2. Pioneered RPG.
Starcraft. Pioneered RTS / Pokemon (for gameboy). No explanation here.
Warcraft 2 BNE pioneered RTS
Super Mario Bros.
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Street Fighter II turbo edition
Donkey Kong Country
When did you try playing it
I think my first playing it was about 6 months after it was released.

Ah okay. Not too far after release.
1. Pikachu representing Pokemon
2. Cloud representing Square/Final Fantasy
3. Link representing Zelda
4. Mario representing himself
This would be my list. Halo doesn't make the cut since its Xbox exclusive and not twenty years + old like the above list. Half-Life is what, 2 games? Not enough. Plus, most people never played it. GTA is garbage until GTA 3 on the PS2.

Are you asian?
Also to say GTA 1 and 2 are garbage...obvious opinion you have that is not shared by millions. GTA 2 was a classic.

:lol Nope but I do prefer those jrpg's. I bought GTA 1 and 2 after playing GTA 3 on my friend's PS2 and was very disappointed lol. Unfair I know, but it made me hate those games until I saved up and got my own PS2 and gta 3.
