The Jazz will wrap up training camp Monday night with an open intrasquad scrimmage at EnergySolutions Arena after completing their final practice before preseason play Sunday afternoon.
Sunday was the first time media was allowed to watch any scrimmage action, and Burke stood out for his defense. As Jazz fans may know, that wasn

They only played 3 8 minute quarters but got an idea about them anyway. Hood filled the passing lanes on a couple plays nicely. Kanter had a 3 from the top go in and out. Novak was gunning up 3's. Booker showed his hustle. Favors had a nice pump fake up and under Rudy and hit a jumper too. Rudy put down a nice lob rolling to the hoop. Exum looked ok other than his shot. Favors and Burke seem to be the most popular players for some reason. The offense is just a modern take on what Jerry did with high pick and roll and off the ball movement. They drive and kick looking for the 3 ball.
It will be interesting to see what rotations Snyder will use. Who comes off the bench, and in what sequence? How much will Rudy Gobert
Alec Burks led his squad with seven points, hitting a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws along the way. Burks and his jumper have earned some rave reviews in training camp, and if he can improve on his 35 percent 3-point shooting from a season ago, he could be in line for a breakout year.
I'd expect improvement from outside. He just needs to hit it enough to open up the rest of his game. Like Kanter they don't need him living out there.
Exum played extensive minutes, logging 29:05 of game time. He scored all of his four points early on and finished with three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Overall, it was a nice NBA primer for the Australian youngster.
If he doesn't step it up he should start in the D-League.
Rodney Hood did not play, as he sat with a right hip flexor strain.
Utah ties: Former Weber State guard Damian Lillard had a decent game when he was on the floor, finishing with nine points, an assist and a steal. With it being a preseason game, though, Lillard played just under 20 minutes and he hit just 4-of-11 shots. Former Jazzman Wesley Matthews added six points and four rebounds. Another former Jazzman, Diante Garrett, entered the game in the fourth quarter and missed his only field goal attempt.
Up next: The Jazz and Trail Blazers match up again on Thursday at the Moda Center in Portland. Game time is 8 p.m. MDT.
There were times a season ago when the two bigs playing together resembled a big brother (Favors) working alongside a little brother (Kanter) who acquitted himself well on some trips, but then, on others, made boneheaded errors. Now, Favors said Kanter is "one of the reasons I
Al Horford’s name will enter trade talks. It happened in stealth mode last season, when the Hawks reached out to a select group and made it known that Horford could be had for the right price — including an unprotected 2014 first-round pick, per several league sources. Nothing materialized, and Horford is ready to return from another torn pectoral muscle. A healthy Horford is a top-20 player on a below-market contract that runs through 2015-16 — long enough that some team could talk itself into gambling on him. He could net a hefty return for the Hawks, who have been happily skipping down the “pretty good with cap room” path under Danny Ferry. Grantland
