Barnes obviously better?
Yes. Though, like I said, I anticipate Lance playing better next season in a structured situation - and I doubt Barnes is gonna be giving his all for the Hornets (assuming he plays).
2015 Barnes is > 2015 Lance. One was a cancer and the other was an okay role player.
Huh? Since when is Lance a 3?
lol clippers have put themselves in such a joke position.
Cheers gm doc
They needed more shooting so they get Lance Stephenson.
Doc as GM is hilarious

Its not like the off season is done lol. They traded a big who was out of the rotation for a young wing player who has a versatile skill set . I think this is one of the better deals he's done since coming in
Clips get darker and loose a light skin and a white guy.
I like it
In a high-risk, high-reward move, the Los Angeles Clippers have acquired guard Lance Stephenson from the Charlotte Hornets, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The Clippers are sending forwards Spencer Hawes and Matt Barnes to the Hornets, sources said. The teams were having a trade call with the NBA office to finalize the deal on Monday evening, sources said.
done deal

Can someone explain to me why Charlotte do this? Lance didn't play well with them but he was on a pretty decent contract, better than the Hawes contract at least

They obviously don't believe in Lance anymore. Sometimes a player just needs a change of scenary. On paper, the Clips stole this one because Hawes was worthless and Barnes is 35 and he could decline dramatically at anytime. Lance is still only 24 with a high ceiling if he has his head on right. The Clips needed a guy like Lance more than anything else.
For Hawes and Barnes? Damn, the Hornets really wanted to get rid of him
F*CK YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
Lance DA GAWD gonna return playing with Blake and Chris.

No more Barnes? I like this move. A lot. :applause:
Now its time to dump Jamal f*cking Crawford.

that nigha's 2014 6MOY award was horrible.. robbed Gibson.
I can imagine the phone call
Jordan: Hey Doc, would you like to have Stephenson on your team?
Doc: Well, not really...
Jordan: You sure? You don't have anything to offer for him?
Doc: Hawes and Barnes is the best I can give I guess...
Jordan: It's a deal. Bye
Doc: Wait! What?

Yeah I was kinda neutral about it. Good seeing him help us win games in the regular-season, but you just knew guy was gonna shit his pants come playoff time. His ineptitude against elite teams is common knowledge among Clipper faithful. :lol
*Kobe voice* Ship his azz out...
Can't wait for Lance to blow in little Steph's ear.
Risky move. He was absolute garbage with the Hornets.
That's another 2nd round exit.
Still didn't fix the fact that they have the worst bench in the league.
Still have Crawford who will once again kill them in the playoffs.
Still will be a mediocre defense.
No backup big.
Austin Rivers getting major playoff minutes.
It's the same shit every year - win 56 games, get the 3rd/4th seed, then their flaws get exposed against a higher seeded team in the semifinals. :sleeping

It's pretty terrible spacing with lance jordan blake etc.. fk I wish I could see chris paul on a team like the bulls out east. He'd have a legit chance at making something of himself
Since when could Lance play the 3 full time? Clippers still have a huge hole at the 3

Sort of true. Crawford sucks in the playoffs. The more structured game of the playoffs doesn't suit him and his D is a joke. We really can't do much about the bench because our roster is too top heavy. Doc is going to have to work some magic to fill out the bench. But we did get a guy with a lot of upside if things work out. We got a little better imo. Hawes really was worthless in 95% of the games and at Barnes' age, he can decline anytime.
I can already picture his Bernie Mac looking ass pouting on the bench and then cheering one minute later.
Since when could Lance play the 3 full time? Clippers still have a huge hole at the 3
He can play the 3 full time imo. Sure, he will be undersized against some 3s but for the most part, he should be fine. He is 6'6" and about 225 lbs with a 6'10.5" wingspan. That's not bad. He is the wing player this team desparately needed.

Unless they improve their bench, they will be in the same spot. They could realistically slip to the 6th-8th seed where they would have no chance of winning anything.
not a terrible move from either side. Lance's value was at a real low, so getting a decent if underwhelming outside shooting big and a tone setting vet role player is pretty good.
if steph meshes, he is a solid piece on that team. Only 1 year (team option next year) and they have no cap to upgrade in FA.

There is a long off season still. Why does this deal mean they are done making deals and improving the bench? The finals haven't even finished, do you think the clippers are done for the off season? This is the first move made, not their last.
He's only got a year left on his deal right? It's worth the risk if that's all that's left.

Could be wrong though.
as long as clips have Mr. 0/0 they will be pretenders
I can't believe that's all Charlotte gets
Nerlen Noel would be the center that makes this team a contender.
Elton Brand DiD went from clippers to philly once.
Don't see much of a downside here.
He's only on the books for this year before a team option.
The Clippers had no ability to do anything in the off season and this trade is a good risk to take.
What's the downside? They choke away a series lead and lose in the 2nd round? Seems like par for the course for this Paul/Doc led Clippers team.
The upside is quite big here as Lance might get back to playing his brand of basketball on a loaded team where he just has to fill in the gaps.

Thank GM Doc for that. We really have little to work with to dramatically improve. We would have to work some magic. It is what it is at this point.
:oldlol:
So Clipps will be chokers, betas and undisciplined.....excellent combo!
This is a great move. Lance had too much pressure on him with his new contract. He's better as a versatile third or even fourth option so he'll fit right in.
Oh. And **** Matt Barnes.
They need to dump Crawford though. As one dimensional as there is. It was a joke watching him trying to back up CP3 at times. Only reason Rivers got playing time was because Crawford can't run an offense to save his life. And zero defense.
Clips did Barnes dirty imo
