BEST player :
His offensive impact is something else though
5 things:
1) Jordan's stats would be higher today due to league-mandated, hands-off defense on the perimeter - the mandatory space between defender and ballhandler allows for freer jumpshooting and less resistance on penetration.. Furthermore, his on-ball, off-ball, and passing game would be made easier by spacing.. Spacing would magnify his capacity to dominate.
2) Curry's stats would be less in previous eras because he's always played with league-mandated space between defender and ballhandler - he's never played with no space/physicality on the perimeter, which makes jumpshooting and driving more difficult..
3) In previous eras, teams didn't have 3-point shooting to draw defenders to the perimeter, so defense occupied the paint more - accordingly, the game favored physically stronger players that could overpower awaiting defenders and withstand more physical contact.. No more easy path to the rim or getting all the WAY to the rim.
4) In previous eras, Curry wouldn't face the spaced-out, scrambling defenses he enjoys today, where his man is always off-balance, allowing for easier shots.. Without teammates spacing out defenders, he'd simply have to work harder for his shots, which is the case for ALL players when they have less spacing.
5) Kyle Lowry's line tonight: 41 pts.. 14-26 shooting
I don't think he can recover from 0/11. Took a huge hit to his legacy. He needs to win 2 more in a row and put up PLAYOFF numbers that top first 3peat MJ. That might give him MDE consideration but GOAT would take some serious longevity.
It's of no consequence. Kareem has 2 FMVP out of 6 and people consider him arguably GOAT as well. Russell isn't considered every FMVP for all his chips. West won a FMVP over Wilt in a LOSS. Bird lost one to Cornbread. Magic is 3 of 5. The list goes on and on. Hell, everyone was calling Pippen the FMVP for Ordin's last chip.
No sane basketball fan thought Iggy deserved FMVP over Curry anyways. LeBron shot horribly period and it was mostly due to TEAM defense, not man to man. Replays of the series show when LeBron would attempt to drive, DrayGOD and company would make like they are going to enter the lane. Bran was shook of the young boy. If anything, Green deserved more FMVP consideration over Iggy or even Baldo for his shot being so broken.

Same old 3ball stuff.
Opponents FG% drops when they are guarded by Curry.
Also, Curry was #1 in steals last year and #2 so far this year.
For years we talked about dominant players who could enter top 10 territory next, KD, Davis... GOAT? No one to challenge last decade, Shaq and Bron closest... and here, out of nowhere, Curry about to top Michael ****ing Jordan for Greatest Ever :applause: What a beast
I don't think A.W. is wide off the mark here from an offensive standpoint. Who knows, Curry night end up being the greatest offensive threat in league history. But I think his inferiority defensively to the Jordans and Shaqs of this world are greater than the possible advantages that he may possess offensively.
I'm not sure he'd make it to the top, if only because he's not anywhere near those guys defensively. Having said that, he's almost odds-on to end up a top 10 players If he keeps winning titles and racking up MVPs.
It's pretty insane that a 6'2'' guy can completely dominate a game in every way. He's the best player since Kobe and he's clearly the league's best player this season. No one is even close,

The only players close to him (and have an argument for being better ) are Lebron and Duncan.
He's insanely good. Hopefully this continues.
Thats the weird thing about it... he's coming out of nowhere looking like a to 5 player ever during his prime/peak...
only players of the last generation as dominant are Shaq and Bron.
A plus for him, because of this, he had minimal expectations when he came into the league... he was mentioned among 2nd tier stars like Russ/BG/etc, so an all-star for sure, but no one saw this leap coming.
So, he's universally loved, but I don't think people will realize the level he has gotten to right now, has probably only been played at by a good 8-9 players ever.

If he's 10 times better than Kobe, and Kobe is top 15, then what does that make Curry?

You really are an idiot. Curry routinely shoots lights out off the dribble with guys right in his face.
win a FMVP first, then we'll talk:no:

Lol Curry and GSW are goin to shove it up bran's ass and his hopes of winning another chip. Don't do this to yourself :lol your boy's era? is done.
Current is viewed as the best scorer, so he needs to achieve at least the following to even enter GOAT discussion:
Win 8+ scoring champs;
Win 6+ NBA titles and FMVPs
Very difficult.

I think its quite evident we're in the midst of a Warriors dynasty.. the WCF will likely be GSW/Spurs, the one challenging series for them.
3 and 4 will go to OKC/LAC, so the first two seeds will be somewhat challenged in the second round, but likely make it out of there in 5-6 games. Small, very small upset chance there.

Why would he want to win the scoring title? Shouldn't h be resting and passing?

Curry has 71 TS%
True shooting by itself doesn't make a player better - MJ's was superior across the board:
JORDAN 1991 (21 games): 32.8 ppg.. 6.6 rpg.. 6.1 apg.. 2.1 tov.. 2.7 spg.. 1.4 bpg.. 58.5 fg.. 63.5 ts.. 132 ortg
CURRY.. 2016 (21 games): 32.6 ppg.. 4.9 rpg.. 6.0 apg.. 3.6 tov.. 2.3 spg.. 0.1 bpg.. 52.4 fg.. 70.6 ts.. 129 ortg
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01/gamelog/1991/#440-460-sum:pgl_basic
Also, offensive rating (ORtg) is a better efficiency measure than true shooting because it measures points produced per possession, which includes assists and turnovers.. True shooting doesn't consider assist or turnovers, nor does it measure efficiency on a per possession basis.
Curry's offense on this stretch matches Jordan's
Btw, Jordan's superior 21-game stretch (shown above) wasn't anywhere NEAR his best stretch - it was just his most EFFICIENT stretch (based on points-per-possession, ORtg)...
He had far better stretches, including 40 ppg stretches, and these:
Jordan's first 20 games of the Finals:
35.5 ppg.. 6.5 rpg.. 7.4 apg.. 51.2 fg.. 2.0 spg
(these 20 games include 3 rings, 3 fmvps, and a 3-0 lead with 4th fmvp on the way)
1986-1993 playoffs (107 games):
34.5 ppg.. 6.9 rpg.. 7.1 apg.. 2.3 spg... 1.0 bpg.. 50.3 fg
Yup. It's pretty incredible actually. Such a generous Gawd.

Bruh this guy is on your team, you shouldn't be clowning your fellow bronsexuals
looks like he jumped off the Bran bandwagon and jumped right back on it a year later :facepalm

I know, its just how funny EVERYONE was claiming Curry is better than Lebron in 2016. Arby is my man, respect. :applause:
Miss those guys who supported Bron in 2016. They were loyal to the end.
