Re: Angela Merkel, doing what Hitler and Wilhelm Couldn't
Lol @ thinking Germany benefits from anyway from being in the EU.
They have to bail out every country financially, as well as take the most uneducated third world refugees, spending resources to teach them, house them, feed them.....all while these refugees who arn't even citizens of the country give nothing back whatsoever except go around harassing women.
honestly the fact that their not in ashes is a testament to that group of people.
A recent report showed that Germany's surplus is exactly equal to the combined deficits of the other 27 EU counties.
So yeah, Germany benefits.

Simpleton. NOW it is.
Germany held 20% the UK held 17%, largely a push.
The UK was there to represent the white-anglo world in one of the biggest economies. They were to make sure the bloc was in lock step with America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and themselves.
Now their large influence is lost, they have gifted influence to Germany who could really go in any direction, stray from the US UK ideals.
Its a bad thing and ONLY happened because a bunch of working class scum hate brown people.

Someone has a brain!!!
All the countries are now under German influence, when they were pre-Brexit to be under German and UK influence.
The UK gifted German a 25% jump in power, and France will give another boost if they leave.
The UK sold low, and now they are in a position of weakness. They paid all the dues, helped the struggling countries, and when those countries bounce back and start paying dividens they will be long gone. No opportunities to enjoy the payback, be it cash or extra access.
Dumb dumb dumb

Germany will become china + islam!
Amazing!!! Sounds like an excellent Quality of life recipe. Bc Germany was known to be such a terrible place before the glorious era of the brown people. Now the govt will have lots of economic power, incredible. It's all that matters. It's the be all, end all.
Britain jelly af they wont get to be a country that = china + islam.

The UK had next to no influence: that whole thing is a complete myth; every time the UK expressed objections to something the EU was doing, they have been overruled; EU law directly undermines and contradicts the British common law and parliamentary supremacy (its entire political and legal tradition). The only thing being in the EU does is destroy British political and legal traditions, and replace them with EU/Continental top-down bureaucratic ones.
The whole thing has completely and utterly undermined what you call "US UK ideals" in the UK. Jury trial has been weakened, the presumption of innocence pushed aside, not to mention self-government and democratic accountability--these are UK "ideals" and part and parcel of their political and legal heritage, and yet all these things are continuously undermined by EU membership.
You aren't making ANY sense:

Dat influence :applause: -- what a terrible loss. British interests are completely subsumed by EU ones. Britain is the most overruled country in the EU, and the process has only got worse and more obvious as the years have progressed:
http://ukandeu.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Figure-1-Hix.png
Being in the EU doesn't protect British interests at all: it only ensures that the larger force will prevail over them, and exert a hegemonic influence on Britain; basically, Britain cannot change the EU (just think for a second here: since when does a marginal force on the periphery change the centre?), while the EU is clearly and obviously changing the UK for the worse.
edit: oh, nice to see that spoilt brat plutocratic elitism from you. Oh yeah, f*ck the working class and their interests, but worship the interests of the bureaucrats and corporatists in Brussels--hilarious. The poor can only be motivated by bigotry!!! What a f*cking idiot you are.
double edit: I think the responses of people on here is really quite enlightening as to what is motivating these fanatical multiculturalists and bureaucratic centralisers: complete and utter contempt for the working class, and a worship of the cult of the "expert" and the mythology of institutional independence. Noice! The world would be perfect if not for all the ignorant and bigoted rubes out there, amirite? I blah blah blah'd you because you came with the same opld biased talking points that got the UK into this mess in the first place, and YES it is a mess, one that they will try and weasel out of, despite your visions of Great Britannia somehow going it alone and making themselves better for it.
Its a false bill of goods, being part of global treaties is the way forward, the UK has stepped into the past with the false belief that jobs will be there when the pollacks leave and everyone will be safe when the brown people are limited.
It is horseshit. The jobs aren't coming back. the Indians (Nick Young's UK savior) came in bought up the steel industry and then closed it down.
The UK SERIOUSLY lacks competititveness, being left adrift only further exasperates the situation.
The larger force doesn't rule over them, it makes them stronger.
Regarding the ignorant bigoted rubes, look at the vote and how it spread out, look at the campaign posters, even someone with Nick Young's knowledge could read between the lines.
Here is a microcosm of what people were voting for:

How do small, homogeneous countries with low immigration like Iceland, Switzerland, Japan, Costa Rica, Finland etc. maintain a high quality of life and income equality without mass floods of immigration and lots of towelheads and big international unions?

I like this, a nice measured response, not a fool throwing out attacks and blatant ignorance like their view of the Commonwealth which they pulled from the deep recesses of their ass.
Its like this. Not gonna win an argument with right wingers over the merits of Brexit, I get it, but people need to realize that it is a big problem.
I have buyers in the UK and now that the pound has fallen they take an L (literally) every day, this is an issue. A ten percent drop in the pound on a five percent margin business is a killer.
The jobs that Eastern Europeans do, ain't going back to the Brits, they will dry up, and all the small businesses that hired them, are going to take an L (literally).
Immigration is a problem in Europe, they get a different class of migrant than North Americans do because North Americans get someone with a passport and the means to buy a plane ticket. Europe gets boat people.
Closing the door is not the answer, being smart is, but also fearing the terrorist boogieman is a ploy to rile up the rubes (which is what they did and why I attacked the rubes, Mr Dresta).
I don't truly think that Merkel opened the doors to scare off the Brits, but it is actually playing out very well for Germany as they traditionally took less migrants, and by staying in Europe, getting more control means they have a lot of states by the balls. They can craft favorable legislation going forward and really enhance their position (as Number 6 pointed out).
Treaties are the way forward (hate it or love it), if you aren't in the TPP, NAFTA, ASEAN, EU etc. you are second tier. Sad, but this is the world we live in.
Brexit was a clusterfakk.

You could add Taiwan to that list as well.
There are many ways to skin a cat so to speak.
The reality is countries like the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, NZ etc. need immigration more to fill postions that the country cannot do domestically. Japan and Taiwan with low birthrates will seek help as well. Already their factories are full of workers from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines who work for much less than local minimum wage under special guest worker visas, so Japan and Taiwan are kind of cheating the list a bit. Guest worker programs really benefit business in those countries.
If they want to begin to treat people better they will need to give them citizenship and will be in the same boat. Recently a domestic worker in Hong Kong from the Philippines won a court case giving her citizenship. That is a big deal.
For the US immigration has been its greatest strength, look at all the US businesses run by Americans who were born elsewhere or their parents were born elsewhere.
the current problem with 'towelheads' as you so eloquantly put is not their movement, it is their home countries and their religion. Islam is f*cked and they often come from a failed state. This is where the PC movement has failed us, we protect race and culture more than we protect freedom and treatment of women, and that is wrong.
A country like the UK needs immigrants, you are selling a false bill of goods to say that if the pollacks leave the British factory workers will be back on the factory floor. Brexiteers were selling a false bill of goods.
The Western countries are service economies, not manufacturing, manufacturing will largely follow this path:
China (now) -> Vietnam/Indonesia (now and growing) -> Africa (where China is investing near trillions).
Being in a service based economy (which is what Western countries are) means you need to have a skill to move forward. As we go deeper into a sharing economy (uber of this, uber of that etc.) people without a marketable skill will fall behind. This is the influence of your right wing, pull yourself up from your bootstraps self-survival. The trouble is the working class who vote right wing are kind of f*cking themselves for the future, and when that happens, VOILA! the rise of the far right and hate groups.
Brexit basically made the UK less competitive in the new economy.

So rather than dilute western countries and cultures just to keep pace with countries that have cheap labor and booming populations, why dont we simply stop aiding those countries and putting them in a position to out compete us?
Why tf did we ever give African tribes medicine and technology? That shit isnt our business. And now Africa is set to go from a 1 billion population to a FOUR billion population by 2100!
That is going to ruin the ****ing planet environmentally. And we did it because Big Pharma suckered American taxpayers into the kumbaya "always be nice and nothing bad will happen" BS to get massive funding for AIDS treatments. "Theyre black, you HAVE to feel guilty, we HAVE to take care of them!"
Maybe we didnt need billions of people around the world competing to work in our industries for less money at the expense of the environment. Maybe that WASNT a good idea. But globalist investors screwed us all over. Now we have to deal with these third world billions who undercut our wages, want to bomb us, and in conjunction with ourselves threaten our irreplacable environment.
You know what the problem with democracy is? The average person isnt a manager. Managers have to make tough decisions. Uneasy decisions. Necessary decisions. Joe Bleedingheart couldnt call a guy with three kids into his office and have to tell him he's been laid off. Joe Manager doesnt WANT to do it, and HATES to do it, and often beats himself up over it at the dinner table that night. But he HAS to do it, and thats why he gets paid the manager's salary. Liberals always want the easy, non confrontational shit, always putting off problems til the whole ship sinks. Theyre the gutless pretenders. Theyre not managers. And their kumbaya PC bullshit has ****ed over the whole planet. ****ing scrubs.

Letting Africa rot on the vine would be far more costly than propping it up (no matter how futile the efforts). Failed state would lead to more overseas wars where the real $$$ are spent.
Its very provincial to discuss global issues where your solutions are us vs them. Planetwise there is a bit of kumbaua because we are all in it.
There are fewer people in poverty than at any time. I was in Africa last year for work (we got ripped off by our suppliers after the third purchase...what? No way!) but there is potential there and the continent is a lot further along than most think. Problem qith Africa is the Chinese, Arabs and Indians have flooded the continent and manage most of the business and resources, so Africans take a back seat. We went with an African supplier and got burned, classic tale. There is room to grow.
Liberalism and conservatism are not the drivers, profit is, anything altruistic business does in Africa is with an on getting in on the ground floor.
Tough decisions involve anyone with responsibility or ownerahip, not political orientation.

that shit is very much your business...after decades of exploitation of the African continent it's the very least your capital greedy nations can do.
Stealing natural sources of the black continent and giving guns to the locals to make war on their own people are things that have happened and are still happening under the disguise of 'Democracy'.:sleeping

Fck outta here with that bullshit.
Come to me when africans build a civilisation worth living in and not try and piggy back another and complain about it.
Do your research. You will find that China is exploiting African resources. Look it up dullard.

as someone from a different part of the world all that text just insinuates white supremacist behaviour for me...the dude is talking about AIDS treatment in 3rd world countries and complaining about how it's unfair for Americans :oldlol:

Let's be honest here. Without western technology, these natural resources would be useless. Like oil. What fcuking use would the Arabs have for oil? These people were basically living in tents. What the hell were these people going to do with oil? First of all, these people didn't even know it was there. Second, they wouldn't have any idea how to get it out of the ground and third, what the hell would they even do with it? Giant Aladdin oil lamps?

Yeah, that's a bit far out for me. I don't propose population control to that inhumane manner.
But he's right, african nations are breeding at an unsustainable rate that no country will be able to withstand an influx of those people as they seek to find refuge in the developed world. Civilisations will likely suffocate from large groups of unskilled, uneducated, disease filled migrants. It's only inevitable.
As for your last comment, can you explain hold on to tax payer's mula? Are you trolling?

I understand what you mean about developed countries fighting directly over African resources if there are no real African governments or states to 'regulate' those resources. But if we refuse to let our own country fight over it, then let the Arabs and Russians and Chinese and Indians war with each other over Africa. That's their business. Billions and billions of our tax dollars were taken from our hands and sent to Africa to be spent on expensive pharmaceuticals for strangers on the other side of the planet who dont live the same kind of lives we do and have no relation to us. That's bullshit. And not only that, it's gonna result in planetary disaster. Theyre not first world countries with first world reproductive habits. They arent supposed to have all this advanced medical treatment. It legitimately ****s up the ecosystem.
Enough with the global profiteering. We need to stop being suckered, being pressured into believing every venture that gains a penny for the average person and another billion for a few investors is worth agreeing to. Weve gotta be smarter consumers. We oughtta demand that there be a list of countries we do not do business of any kind with. And get citizens of other super powers to push for the same. We're just feeding a giant monster. We're nursing future competitors just because it's profitable to sell the milk to them now.
If we're smart about how we use technology and how we manage populations, the world could have been a beautiful and amazing place in a few generations. Instead we're dumb, cowardly and selfish and it's gonna result in more strife, more extinction, and a LOT more poor Arabs and Africans showing up at our doorsteps.
Gee. How terrific.

It blows my mind when these idiots talk shit about western society and democracy, yet the regions they migrated from are fcked up failures and not a single hope of any kind of progression without the help and the input from the West/Europe.
I get that we have our problems, but can they honestly stand on any kind of pedestal when they GOT AWAY from the shithole they came from to enjoy the fruits here, often leaching off the welfare to then complain about it?
Unbelievable.

Re: Angela Merkel, doing what Hitler and Wilhelm Couldn't

Oh, shut up: I saw that facebook group of photos weeks ago, and it is a bunch of hysterical rubbish; this binary world of "love" and "hate" is the epitomisation of childish thinking. Some people behave like assholes, and always have--I don't see you posting the collection of photos of people on twitter openly inciting the murder of Nigel Farage, though there were plenty of people doing so. All you are doing is giving disproportionate focus to a particular (and unrepresentative) agenda, and yes, using it to dismiss the very real concerns of over 17 million people. This couldn't be any more obviously self-serving: it provides the political establishment with the perfect excuse not shine a light on its many failures, and to instead blame the overwhelming rejection of them and their methods on irrational bigotry (how convenient!). As I said, this is an incredibly self-serving narrative (nice and ego-boosting), which is why you are perpetuating it.
The UK lacks competitiveness because it has (and had before Brexit) a 6%+ current account deficit (a record in peacetime), absurdly inflated housing costs, a capital city no-one can afford to live in, and (until recently) a clearly overvalued currency. A fall in the pound helps UK competitiveness rather than hinders it. That the pound has fallen is only a reflection of the weakness of the UK economy, something that the devaluation of a currency provides a buffer for (it makes exports more competitive, and reduces the burden of the record high current account deficit that had nothing to do with Brexit). If Greece was not shackled by the single currency, it too could do this, as such a thing is desperately needed; oh, and I hear Italy has been doing well of late--more EU success!
The UK was completely f*cked economically before it left the EU, and would have been even more f*cked if it had joined the euro--please explain more to me how the existent status quo has been a success, and why people shouldn't reject it (with some other argument than: "if you don't open up your country to plunder, sell off its assets to foreigners, put your capital city up for sale, allow overseas institutions to trample over your established legal and political institutions, you just don't fit in the modern world")?
Please, that is utter tripe. UK was in for hard economic times before it left the EU, but economic matters have never been the predominant question when it comes to the European Union, even though it itself is an economic basket-case, suffering now from its own hubris and an irrational belief in itself and its own future, and the idiotic implementation of the single currency, an obviously failed political experiment, which only still survives because the political will behind it is so extreme, determined, and uncompromising. The whole thing will soon be in the dustbin of history along with the Soviet Union (funny how all the leftist fanatics have migrated from one utopian political project to the next so smoothly). And economists never really have had much of an understanding of the big picture: there is a reason that Paul Samuelson's Econ textbook said in its preface, all the way up to 1989, that the Soviet Union was proof that central planning worked. Sorry if I don't take the economic forecasts of his progeny and the academic establishment all that seriously; they have proven they don't have a clue, over and over and over again.

Re: Angela Merkel, doing what Hitler and Wilhelm Couldn't
Brexit was a clusterfakk.
where did I discuss Switzerland?
it is probably the most elite country in Europe, but that is based on its neutrality. England cannot construct this situation.
Switzerland has never sided on anything ever, it would kill their look the other way banking system, ie their strngth.
Bad example, completely unique situation.
The UK has taken a stance on every world issue, Switzerland never, they play both sides of the fence that is their edge. THe UK cannot do this.
Dunksby has you pegged.
