your in high school / open a book and read history.
First... "you're" not "your."
Second... no, I'm not in high school.
Third... It was a rhetorical response so as to point out the absurdity of the link between the Great Wall and border structures between the US and Mexico. There are decent arguments to be had for a wall along the southern border, but an argument that includes the Great Wall of China isn't one of them. :confusedshrug:

The WH did not make one executive action today. In reality they made three, only one of which involved an emergency declaration. 2/
First the WH announced they would be funding $601 million in wall construction from the Treasury Forfeiture Fund, relying on 31 U.S.C.

damn so after promising to build a wall to keep out illegals and drugs, he's only building a 55 mile fence which is roughly .03% of the entire length of the US-MEXICO border?
rebuttals: but, but there's already 700 miles of fencing, umm, incomplete fencing that is fill with gaps (swiss cheese has less gaps) and it's a fence, not a wall.

I think this here is gonna be the reason the senate tries to block it too:
"As a U.S. senator, I cannot justify providing the executive with more ways to bypass Congress. As a conservative, I cannot endorse a precedent that I know future left-wing presidents will exploit to advance radical policies that will erode economic and individual freedoms. These are the reasons I would vote in favor of the resolution disapproving of the president's national-emergency declaration, if and when it comes before the Senate."
They know the next democrat if hes extreme enough would declare a BS emergency for global warming or child hunger or whatever else.
Mitch said he thought the Senate would narrowly vote to block it. Right now pence would be the tie breaker but some more republicans are leaning towards blocking it too.
Its all just ammo for the legal fight im sure.

You can practically see certain Dems who are currently running for President rubbing their hands together like, "Bet...."
4 Republicans would need to cross over to vote with Dems and Independents. As of right now, I believe Collins, Murkowski and Tillis have publically stated that they would vote to disapprove of the National Emergency declaration. Republicans leaning to disapproval probably include Ben Sasse, Mitt Romney, Pat Toomey, Rod Portman, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, but who really knows how they'll vote when tested.
Whoever writes and produces the saga of the last 4 years as a TV series better do a good job. These stories and plot points are way too rich to put out a lackluster product.

In a much-anticipated floor speech, the retiring senator declined to state whether he will become the deciding vote to block the president

He will never get the $8.6bill from Congress in 2020 budget, and he probably knows it. I bet he will use that denial as an excuse for another government shutdown end of 2019. It's all to appease his hardcore Trumpeter fanbase as we get closer to 2020 election.

That budget is laughable... and it's compounded by the wall funding request. What really stands out though is the proposed cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Trump swore up and down, left and right that he wouldn't cut funding for those programs and accused other Republicans running for the Republican nomination in 2015 of planning to do so. And here we are.

Your position was anchored by "I dont care if my tax dollars help a kid out." Then you type a ton of extra fluff, presumably to make it harder to see where exactly your weak argument is and pounce on it. Obviously filibustering and ancillary anecdotes aren't an effective way to get a discussion to a conclusion. Which is precisely why you do it.
It was an obvious a cop out position. Where will you draw the line on how many strangers youre willing to pay for? You'll never draw the line in a discussion, because there are no consequences. Of course, if I could make your local representative actually hike your taxes another 30% to help out more random kids produced by god-knows-who in some other state 2,000 miles from you... then suddenly you'd probably be coming up with reasons for protecting your own wallet.
But as long as you dont HAVE to be the bad guy, because there's no direct, immediate consequence to you? You'll take that easy, selfish, shallow way out, because you simply don't have the guts or the concern to do otherwise. You just dont care. Protect your image instead of figure out what's best for the community. It's pathetic, weak, and low IQ.
Our conflict was not about me being unwilling to acknowledge reasonable arguments. It was about you not being WILLING to make any.
-
Re: The Trump Border Wall Saga
There is the problem. Once you decide that only what you think is reasonable whats the point of having a conversation? Just go on trolling and bullshitting. But dont act like others dont want to talk. You clearly arent here to listen. So just make noise and stay in your bubble like others do. But dont compain about it.
Talking about pouncing on arguments and shit. Its a conversation. You are not a ****ing creature coiled in the grass about to attack. Seeing a conversation that way is a sure way for it to end with no understanding gained. If any of these problems get solved...it will be because of people like me getting people like you from both sides out of the room so the normal people can have a conversation.
Youre an impediment complaining about a lack of progress. Talking about low IQ. You are such a child at times. Its practically impossible to meet in the middle with your type in the room. And the middle is the only place you get anything accomplished.

Trump budget projects four straight deficits over $1 trillion
As President Donald Trump sent Congress on Monday a $4.7 trillion budget proposal for 2020, the estimates of his own budget experts predict that this spending plan will result in four straight years of deficits exceeding $1 trillion, with no budget surplus until the mid-2030's.
After a deficit of $779 billion in Fiscal Year 2018, the President's new budget plan forecasts four more years of even higher levels of red ink.

Absolutely false. I've stated repeatedly I'm not a "Wall or bust" guy. I'm positive you've seen that and you know that. I'm ambivalent on the wall, but I am serious about the issue. Meanwhile you guys are serious about the wall (opposing it) but ambivalent about the larger issue. Why is that? Because it's simply EASIER and more POPULAR with left wing America. Opposing illegal immigration, on the other hand... you're not sure where that puts you. You don't know where you'll be grouped, therefore you're not confident, therefore you play it safe. You're passing the buck on the problem because you're not confident enough to do what's right instead of what's popular. Either that or youre not smart enough to figure out why it's a problem. Either way, it's a bad look.
Any time a convo comes up about real solutions to address immigration, all you guys do is duck and run here to your safe space where all you have to do to appear "progressive" is gossip about orange man. Reinforce each other into the delusion that auto-resisting Orange Man is the standard for sophistication. Why do you think you fellas in this thread need the bar set that low? Low enough that any generic intellect can join in and get a pat on the back? You ever notice that?
A discussion that requires logical analysis and some balls to speak about honestly...? You guys are out. You're FLEEING back to the "Orange Man Bad" safe space threads. Back to "Trump is Orange!" and "Trump is just a reality star!" and "Trump isn't Presidential!"
That's it. That's all you got. If it bothers you to be called low IQ for it, then show a little more interest in the long-term good of the country we all have to share. Show some ****ing balls instead of all that insecurity. You've been hanging around too many white people probably. Go ask black dudes on the street what they think about illegal immigration, most of them are like "Hell no. That's taking away from us." They don't give a shit what some pretentious cucks on message boards have to say about their political correctness. These are dudes who dont have time for social posturing, they need to eat. So they'll be straight up. You're trying to fit in with a bunch of low-testosterone white cuck liberals whov'e made it an intellectual fad to be as passive and pu$$ified as possible. Obviously these limp-wrists do it for a reason, becasue if social value is measured any other way they dont stand a chance.
You should seriously have more pride as a man than that.
