[QUOTE]In fact, many of the advanced metrics say the talented young guard actually regressed in 2018-19. That may be a bit harsh considering he started the season off playing through a debilitating toe injury, plus the fact that Mitchell actually improved his point-per-game average to 23.8 per night and upped his three-point shooting to a respectable 36.2 percent. Still, the expectation was that Mitchell would better his decision-making and shot selection enough this year to receive All-Star consideration as a sophomore, and that simply didn

[QUOTE]Internal improvement: Can Mitchell shoot 38-40% from three and improve his finishing while decreasing turnovers? Can Rudy maintain his defensive prowess and add an offensive game out to 12-15 feet? Can Exum finally take a step forward and stay healthy? Can Royce get a handle?
Draft: Can we hit another mid-to-late home run that pays immediate dividends?
Roster shuffle: Can we land a free agent that improves us more than the amount we lose to the players we need to let walk to get them? Or can we put together a trade package that achieves the same thing?
I think our most realistic bet is leg #1. We have two legitimate stars who both have areas in which to improve. They are already going to get 30 minutes or more per game, so improvement there is pure value-add. Help from an improving supporting cast is much the same (at least raising our floor, if not getting us over the hump). We

Favors knows many people view that cap space and the lure of another star player as the best means to vault the franchise toward title contention. He also knows he would have viable options elsewhere, with Donovan Mitchell recently claiming Favors could start for 80% of the teams in the league. He still hopes to return, though.

[QUOTE]64.4: Assist percentage -64.4 percent of the Jazz's field goals made were assisted on, the fourth best mark in the NBA. While the Jazz may have the identity of a great defensive team, they showed they have some of the best ball movement and offensive strategy in the league.

[QUOTE]39.8: Projected max salary cap heading into next season -If the Jazz are going to raise their ceiling, they will need to make some changes on the roster, particularly in the field of playmaking. If the Jazz don't pick up Derrick Favors' contract option of $16.9 million and they renounce the rights of Ricky Rubio, with the potential retirement of Kyle Korver, the Jazz could have potential cap space of nearly $40 million. That figure is more likely to be around $25-30 million, which could be just enough to try and lure a big name free agent to Salt Lake City to pair with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Names like Kemba Walker and Tobias Harris are among the targets that many believe the Jazz should try to bring in. If the Jazz can create enough cap space and land a big name, fans could very likely still be watching the Jazz on TV this time next season.
