If you have Larry Bird in the top 10 you can't justify leaving Kobe out of the top 5.
I don't get your rationale. Feel free to explain... and anyone who doesn't have Bird in the top 10 is probably racist.

So Bird was drafted to a stacked Celtics roster and had 60-win teams for an entire decade and came up with 3 rings. How can you justify ranking him above Kobe?
Kawhi won in his 1st try. But these stans think kobe wasnt that good. A guy who needs superteams is better. LOL
Just about nothing you've said was even true though? Kawhi did not win in his "1st try" he lost in 2013. And Kobe needed a superteam with Shaq and Kawhi needed one with Duncan, Parker, Ginobli so not sure where you are going with your post.

They both only have 2 Finals MVPs but Bird beat Magic in the finals and Kobe beat Dwight.
They both only have 2 Finals MVPs but Bird beat Magic in the finals and Kobe beat Dwight.
Kobe beat Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo in one Finals series alone. Not to mention Kobe having the tougher road to the Finals and him going 3 straight with way less talent on his teams. Also, Kobe went 15 - 1 while putting up 29/7/6 at 22 years old. Kobe was also 4 - 1 against Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich in Playoff series from 01-08.

kawhi won right away in toronto. Lebron with his superfriends lost in their first try. Kawhi > 3 superstars. Only a dumbass would build around lebron.

They always had to play an equally if not moreso stacked Lakers team and/or Philly team.
If it was so stacked why did they have a 17 win turnaround from the previous season or whatever it was? They had Cowens and a hobbling Maravich in his last season. I don't deny there was talent but they weren't more stacked than the Lakers and Sixers then. They had to battle Philly each year just to reach the Finals and they usually made it. Bird always did well against the Lakers, by the way, regular season or post.
Bird improved his teammates more than Kobe did, and was a considerably better all-around player except on the defensive end where Kobe exerted more effort than Bird did. Bird could pass the ball like Magic, he could rebound with the best rebounding power forwards of all time, and he's the 4th best shooter we've seen after Steph, Ray and Reggie, Bird's also probably the smartest player to ever play in the NBA, meanwhile Kobe bricked a lot of shots while running isos that didn't work out well due to his inefficiency and ball-stopping efforts and trying to shoot contested shots out of double and triple teams. Kobe was too much of a ball-stopper. The team didn't work well around him.

That's Bullshit. Bird played in a much higher-paced era so his stats are inflated. He had an easier road to the Finals and had a much shorter career. Spurs are the most consistent winning franchsie in league history and Kobe was the best player in all 4 Playoff series wins against them, that alone is better than anything Bird did in the Playoffs.
Kobe played in the toughest defensive era for wing players in the early 2000s . Bird wasn't that efficient relative to his era as you make him out to be, his defensive metrics are way overrated due to the rebounds he got.
You look at those Boston teams and the pace is 100+ pretty much every season during the peak of his career, Kobe averaged 35 ppg with a 90.9 pace. Bird is nowhere near close to Kobe in overall talent or accolades. Kobe at 22 averaged more points for a title run that Bird did in any of his 3 runs with more assists than Bird in 2 out of his 3 and we're talking 10% lower pace.

Bird was the man in 1981? You give shit for Kobe averaging 15 ppg in the Finals despite being injured in the 1st quarter of a game but Bird averaged 15 ppg while being healthy and 24 years old and playing at a much higher pace which lead to easier baskets.
:biggums: clownBe only won 2 rings as the man. L on your forehead
Why so mad? Is it because kawhi exposed how overrated your boy is?

Bird WAS efficient. One cannot inflate percentages, and Bird shot from distance most of the time, and he shot the lights out from everywhere.
and speaking of 4 Kobe didn't win a darn thing his first four years in the league and he had a prime Shaq on his team all four of those years.
Bird's one of the best passers to lace em up and was very gracious with the ball
Kobe didn't pass much and couldn't pass well
Why so mad? Is it because kawhi exposed how overrated your boy is?
LeBron is the best player in the world. Not even a question. Come at me.

"shot from distance most of the time" averages less than two threes for his career
Kobe won his first ring in his 4th season at 21 years old and was already the closer and the best defensive player on his team. Bird didn't sniff an NBA game until 22.
Bird's passing is overrated. Kobe led 5 title teams in assists.

yep kobe is leaps over bird. bird is overrated and only good claim is beating mike jordan 6-0 in the playoffs
bird made 5 finals and only led his team to scoring in 2 of them :oldlol:
the guy was a dummy with a bad back and no long career
2 fmvp and lost one to cedric maxwell? whut
bean > bird all ay
:biggums: clownBe only won 2 rings as the man. L on your forehead
Wrong, Gasol was the man on Kobe's last 2 championships. Gasol battled in the paint against All NBA and All Defense big men, while Kobe was statpadding against role players like Pietrus or below average defenders like Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.
Giannis, Harden, Kawhi, Luka all looking to push Kobe aside soon
Giannis, Harden, Kawhi, Luka all looking to push Kobe aside soon
There is no way Kawhi will pass Kobe. He won’t have the longevity, sadly.
Giannis, Harden, Kawhi, Luka all looking to push Kobe aside soon
Kawhi - Nope. Load management will keep him away from top-15.
Harden - Nope. Zero rings. He'll end up top-5 SG of all time, though.
Giannis - Nope. His game does not translate to longetivity. But who knows... young to tell.
Luka - Too young to tell.

Bird was a great talent but he really didn't win enough with how many great 60-win teams he had.

Magic got hammered tbh with the "Tragic Johnson" nickname after he choked numerous times, but have you ever really heard anything bad about Bird?

Ask anyone who was alive to watch that series, and anyone on that team and they

Bird didn
5be.
Right behind jordan, kareem, wilt and magic. I think Kobe will stay in the top 10 at least during my lifetime.
Just to correct a couple things mentioned here. One poster said Bird team improved his rookie year by 17 games, it was 31 games. Another person said Bird was drafted to a stacked team, a team that won 29 games the year before is now considered stacked. Another person said Bird on won 3 chips against weaker competition. So Moses and Dr J sixers, the Bad Boys pistons and Magic's Lakers were weak competition. Not to mention Hakeem and Sampson's rockets.

That Boston team also lost Pistol Pete and another star I forget who though.
Don't kid yourself, Bird has 2 FMVPs and played on a stacked team his entire career in a watered down era, playing with little defense and no longevity. NOPE.
Next

LMFAO. It's hilarious how delusional Kobe stans are. You seriously believe Kobe had a bigger defensive impact than Shaq? Wow. You either have to be the biggest dick sucker ever or know absolutely nothing about basketball to actually believe this nonsense. Kobe isn't even top 2. (Horry would be 2) This is why it's so hard to take Kobe stans seriously and not just instantly ridicule them...they fanboy to the point of stupidity.

Kobe was the best wing defender in the league and Shaq was a known liability in the pick and roll.
Sleep it off bud.
