Not worth trading Ingles to get him. Need a modern day starting 4. Get rid of Exum and Favors in the process.
Neto has been with the Jazz since 2015, so it would be a bit surprising to Jazz fans if they let him go after retaining him for multiple offseasons in favor of a second-rounder, but crazier things have happened in the NBA.
It wouldn't be surprising at all. Only reason he's still around is because he is Rudy's buddy I''d say.
Despite the Jazz paying up for this pick and like Wright-Foreman, Oni figures to spend time in the G League with the Salt Lake City Stars and hope for a roster spot to open up in the next couple of offseasons.
I think he may already be better than Exum not that the Jazz care about that! :rant
Just because the rookies look good on paper doesn’t mean that will translate to the next level, but the Jazz have a proven track record of developing second round picks and projects like the picks they made on Thursday.

They do? They have a proven record of letting them go to other teams for little to nothing in return :wtf:
The other part of what gave the Jazz so much flexibility was players on good, tradable contracts, as well as several non-guaranteed contracts. Utah cashed in some of those assets when they agreed to send Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, Grayson Allen and two first round picks to the Memphis Grizzlies for Mike Conley in a trade. The Jazz and Grizzlies had reportedly neared an agreement on a trade for Conley at the trade deadline, but the ability to match salary was too much for Utah at that point. The teams re-engaged when the season ended and came to an agreement before the draft.

sounds like giving up Exum was too much to have a chance for a title :rant
Utah had been linked to both Tobias Harris and Nikola Mirotic as frontcourt options, but both are probably out of range now with the trade for Conley. If the team waives Favors, they could still pursue Mirotic, whose shooting at the four spot would be a welcomed addition. The team would also need to find another player who plays both big spots, as Favors tends to functions as both the starting power forward and the backup center. Veterans like Taj Gibson or Ed Davis would be a perfect fit for that role, or the team could go younger and look at someone like Kevon Looney or Noah Vonleh. For more of a pure backup option for Gobert, Frank Kaminsky would be an interesting fit. His shooting would give the team a difference dimension from what they

Definitely want to get Portis in if they can. I know people say he's got defensive issues, but we've got the perfect guy to cover for him there.
That gives you 1-4 that can hurt a team from beyond the arc and hopefully with Conley taking more of the ballhandling and offensive load both Ingles and Mitchell can be more efficient next year.
