Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
But WHY? You cant answer that
35 ppg on 54% shooting while getting 10 assists got LeBron swept
28 ppg on 43% and 4 assists gets Kawhi a win in 6 games?
Again, people are already explaining this to you but maybe you're just slow like the rest of the Bran fam... LeBron needs to score a lot more because he's a turnstile on defense, he needs to score more because he's giving up a lot of points...why don't you post KD's stats? You'll find your answer there :lol
Maybe if he would put up a bit more resistance, he wouldn't need to score so much but hey everybody, look at Bran's stats!!!

He joined a team with no superstars and won them their 1st ever title against the warriors, without a single superstar. Lebron had 2 superstars and needed 7 games.

Kawits 2nd and 3rd options combined to avg. 36ppg, compared to the Cavs 35.6ppg for their 2nd and 3rd option
Another day, another L for you.

Ah here is my 2nd lapdog. So Kawhi elevates his teammates in ways Lebron can't?
Great. That is another reason that hes better than Lebron.

Kyrie Irving is a superstar though. There is nothing to boost.
The question is why Kawhi was able to take a much less talented team and ravage Golden state while your hero needed a 7th game and needed Kyrie to isolate the MVP to save him.

Lebron stans conveniently ignore that Kawhi had a TS over 60% in the Finals and averaged 10 rebounds. Predictable as sunrise.
Kawhi is celebrated for his entire playoff run, not just the Finals.

TS% :lol
He shoots good free throws, nice!
Pros: Good free throw shooter
Cons: Stopped playing defense for the last 2 years

I can certainly understand why a Lebron stan downplays foul shooting. :lol
Kawhi also attempted 7 threes per game in the Finals, 6 attempts overall in the playoffs.
I think Giannis would probably disagree that Kawhi stopped playing defense.
Using FG% shows your obvious Lebron bias, or a lack of math understanding.

Lakers would've been in contention for playoffs if Bron didn't choke 4-5 games at the free throw line early-mid season. :lol

Re: Why are we celebrating Kawhi
4 assists is fine and in line with the 4-7 assist range of nearly every championship #1 option in history..
Infact, players that averaged more than 8 assists have almost never won outside of Magic
Instead, nearly all the championship #1 options were timely scorers that averaged a lot of points.. high assists were neither here nor there..

But 10 assists is more than double 4 assists
So if you only get 4 assists, you should at least average 44-50ppg to compensate
LeBron averaged 35 ppg and 10 assists, so Jordan and Kawhi can only be as good if they average 44-50ppg along with their 4 assists :confusedshrug:

kawhi has the highest winning percentage of any player in league history who actually played real minutes. look it up.
son is already an absolute legend.

Other than Magic, 8 assist guys almost never win because getting an assist turns teammates into play-finishers, or reduces their role
This is necessary to an extent but too many assists from 1 guy makes teammates too much of play-finishers and reduces their role too much
That's why 4-7 apg is optimal - nearly every #1 option that won averaged in this range, while almost no one won by averaging over 8 apg.. a player needs to be capable of 4-7 apg, but it's overkill after that

If you look at the Raptors in the finals, the role players weren't merely assist targets, they were actively making plays for themselves. Vanvleet was out there creating shots, Siakim, Lowry, the bigs Serge and Gasol weren't merely 'get the rebound' cleanup guys so that keeps them engaged defensively. Kawhi was playing off his teammates, not the other way around. When the players are empowered to do more than wait for the pass everyone is uplifted. Try watching the game and not the boxscore, you might learn something.
