I think he likes to pump up his players' ego in public. This isn't the first time he has done this with Harden. He completely dismissed any friction between Harden and Paul just weeks before he traded Paul. I don't think you can take his public comments at face value.
I think his problem is that his analytics are based too much on regular season games. Playoff games are different.
3pt shooting % goes down in the playoffs even though the best shooting teams are in the playoffs. Midrange shooting goes up in value (see Kawhi and KD last season) because good looks are harder to find from 3 and at the rim . I get the impression that his analysis doesn't take this into account. MDA doesn't seem to adjust his strategy in the playoffs either.[/QUOTE]
Bob Myers, RC Buford, Sam Presti, David Griffin, Donn Nelson, Pat Riley, Danny Ainge, Masai Ujiri all come to mind as GMs that have been at least as successful if not more then Daryl Morey.
Its just an asinine statement to make, and to your point, more ridiculous considering how relatively terrible Harden is in the playoffs. And MDA is a great analogy.

If you mean that he's probably the best sportsman in any main stream sport, I agree. Hockey has its niche but its mainly a northern American sport. If we leave hockey aside, Jordan was probably the most dominant sportsman in any major sport.

Nobody would put up with his garbage and his "impact" on the game would be reduced to nothing...if he was even able to play. He would have caught an "accidental" elbow from Karl Malone or anyone else who was sick of his shit and been in the ICU permanently.
