This movie is no where near the level of entertainment of Goodfellas, Casino or The Departed... I don't know what the **** the collective reviewers are thinking.
96% fresh on rotten tomatoes? The ****?
Why? Because of the cast?
It wasn't a boring film, but is sure as shit wasn't in the same league as those other movies.

Rotten tomatoes is a sjw shitshow with no credibility, why are you surprised?
If critics there like a movie, guaranteed it's a pile of shit.

It wouldn't surprise me if some of them have propped it up because of the main character's daughter's role in the movie.
Basically... the movie is about his failed relationship with his daughter, who has looked at him with nothing but disdain for years and flat out cut him off after the Hoffa hit... which is an entirely false version of what actually played out in reality by the way... in fact, most of the movie is historically inaccurate except possibly the Kennedy being taken out by the mafia bit, lol. I just don't buy that the mafia would be able to cause so much government cover-up and omission of information to the public on a federal level like that. Obviously the movie didn't get into that, the Kennedy lines were just interesting is all... But I digress...
Everything except the relationship with his daughter is window dressing. It is the 'meat and potatoes' of the movie.
Did you watch Goodfellas?
Jimmy Conway is full Irish, in Casino he is a full jew.
I'm well aware DeNiro is 50% Irish, 25% Jewish, and 25% Italian. And that he has played all three enthnicities.
What I'm saying, is at any age ...
... DeNiro LOOKS NOTHING LIKE Frank Sheeran.
At all.
Pacino looks nothing like Jimmy Hoffa.
At all.
Movie was still good. Just saying.
Scorcece should cast with biological accuracy yo.

And it's not reallyu the well meaning yet misguided SJW's who are really sh!tting the place up.
What's way worse, are the bought and paid for fake accounts posting focus grouped reviews by the thousands using the same buzzwords, and these done by everyone from competitor's studios, to groups like the SPLC.
Yelp and Rotten Tomatoes are "too big to be truthful" anymore.
Sure it is not as entertaining as Casino.
If I were to watch one of them now I would choose Casino 99 out of a 100 because it is more entertaining.
The better movie though?
Goodfellas>The Departed>The Irishman>Casino
And that is a good company to be in. Great movie

Seeing as the story was good but not Departed, Goodfellas, Casino level good, it was the ebst decision to cast Pacino and De Niro, that was the main draw for this being a 'must watch' for many, myself included.
They both did a great job in their respective roles, within the context of the film. Al was typical Al but he was a hoot and his hair still A-1
Casino sucked.

You boutta have an MF Doom accident yo.
6/10
Al Pacino carried big time. Not just in his over the top classic Al Pacino moments but an all around great performance.
Boring, script had moments where it seemed off. I can’t put my finger on it but a lot of the scenes didn’t have a Hollywood feel even with the cast. It had its moments but not enough to carry it through the 3 hour run time. The betrayal of Jimmy Hoffa was good but then they had way too much time of DeNiro being a whiny bitch about it. Scorsese hammered the “all men no matter how powerful are mortal” theme too much at the end. It was a good touch but it ended up as 30 mins of DeNiro limping around. Could have been summed up better in one or two scenes.
Masterpiece? Lol yeah.... 7/10 at best..... Joe Pesci was great.....CGI was very bad, some of the characters looked weird as fuvk. Movie was a bit too long, they couldve cut off the last 20 mins......Wish they had more scenes with Harvey Keitel.
this has to be one of the most overrated movies ive ever seen. lazy performances from almost everyone involved, and at least an hour longer than it shouldve been.
deniro was a terrible choice for frank. not only was he obviously mailing it in, but the de-aging did not work at all. having joe pesci call him "kid" when his face looks ~40-50 years old and his body moves like an 80 year old was laughably stupid. using cg to make an old actors face look younger is pointless if you dont have tech to make him move his body like a young man too. the scene where deniro stomps the grocer looked hilariously bad, it was so damn obvious that deniro is an old ass man under the cg.
i legit thought deniro's leg was going to snap in half when he was stomping on that dude that shoved his daughter.
and when he walked over some rocks to throw his gun in the river... i was surprised they let him do a "stunt" that big. :lol
This anit-aging cgi stuff reminds me of the ani aging makeup that was used in a lot of movies in the early 90

This
Bobby looked frail af stomping on that grocer dude :lol
Should've used a younger stand in because he moved like a old man and not like the 30 something year old he was supossed to be portraying.
Biologically accurate casting is my favorite sh1t yo!
