i quit gambling after last post season when i won like 300 on that rockets warriors game 6 everybody had golden state losing on the road with durant out, and then proceeded to lose every penny of my winnings going forward.
The worst part is i spent the "winnings" off my debit card that weekend before cashing out, and ended up losing them on the site with additional bets, so the hype off that one win put me in a double hole. :facepalm

Sixers are winning. No greek and they have time to scheme for a team led by Middleton whos a borderline all star. Take the points for the sixers which is only -3 i believe. Im taking that and davis under 31 as a combo. Rockets are gonna be more physical with davis i dont him scoring more than 30. Its paying +250

Shit just figured he was out. Either way id take Sixers. If he's in he's not gonna be 100% and if hes out sixers will be better prepared for a bucks team without greek.

but the odds are WAY down at that point?
the only time youd get the same odds was when they were up 14-11 because of Brown, but then that situation clouds your judgement and you shy away from the bet.
other than that i agree. i often do that for tennis where both players hod serve, but you can tell whos better while bookies miss it.

I mean I initially put 600 in my account and am up to almost 1400. I'm beating the system right now.
But yea I tend to never do parlays or big underdog bets. Always lose that way which is why these companies are so rich. Lot of suckers out there praying on a lotto ticket.

the companies are rich because of parlay bets. hardly because of big underdog bets because those usually come with small stakes.
singles are always the way to go and are the only way betting pros move and make their money.
and those singles are usually big trust + big investment, but not necessarily taking a shit odd for a payout that is a third of the stake. thats a sucker bet.
that only works if you have a huge payroll and can do those kind of bets with a 1k stake over and over.
The only reason it was shitty odds is because I placed the bet when the sixers were rolling. There's no way to know before the action starts if a coin flip is worth it or not. It's basically betting blind at that point. Sixers looked way better for most of the game and then almost choked it away. Refs ****ed them with a few calls too like that embiid charge where the home team superstar almost always gets that call. Took a harden miracle but it shouldn't have.
Smashing the Game 5 line though for sure. Sixers blew their load today.

I see what you're saying but in my personal betting experience it seems like over time when I bet pregame coinflip odds I maintain a flatline balance...win, lose, win, lose over and over. Like a hamster wheel. But when I bet bigger money on favorites my bankroll grows. Especially if I can spot a tell. (Like ref bias)
I'm starting to frequent the sportbook sub reddit though and trying to reevaluate my strategy / throw some other strategies into the mix.
I do get what your saying though. Courage is a big deal in gambling but it's a fine line between that and being dumb with it and overextending yourself.
