Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
I just did my first mock draft and I got confused as hell when I seen this H.Brown cat :lol
I’m taking Marquise. Rest of KC outside of mahomes im fading.
I think I wanna draft Josh Allen in later of second round. The entire offense runs through him, he poaches rushing touchdowns and gets decent run yardage which is huge in fantasy. He doesn’t get injured much. Even though QB is deep I think Josh Allen can give you a great advantage vs teams H2H. Hes money in the bank.

Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
Autodrafted ceedee because I logged into the draft late. Now I am stuck hating on bijan all season because that is who I wanted to pick at 2
I managed to get Kyler as the 9th qb off the board so I was happy with that. Backed him up with Herbert in the 13th round. That foot injury could wipe out his fantasy relevance but it was a risk i was okay with rolling the dice on Harbaugh working his qb magic as plan b.
I think Chubb still has some tread left on the tires but it was probably a round or 2 early when I pulled the trigger in front of both Titans rb's.

Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
I draft in two hours so I’m doing some last minute research
I pick 4th in a 14 team half ppr league
I think I would want either CMC, Hill, Lamb, Hall. I have a feeling it’s gonna be Lamb at 4.
Then I’m going to try to grab Pacheco, Jacobs, or Achane for second round pick at 25.
I think LaPorta is going to give good value for where he’s drafted. I think he’s better value than Kelce. If I can get him third round at pick 32 i’ll be happy.
for fourth and fifth round going to try to pick up one WR and one RB
sixth round at pick 80 hopefully I can get Stroud, Burrow, or Dak

you can sleep on TE this year in the draft... so taking Pitts in the 6th round could be a wasted pick imo, but I could be wrong on that.
Dalton Shultz and Jake Furgeson are going in rounds 9 & 10... so I say avoid taking Pitts early.
If you love Laporta get him but there were options at TE later in the draft I would not have been unhappy with.

Think I might grab Herbert now that I put Brooks on IR and have an open roster spot. He's available in my league.
Chubb is coming off a pretty nasty injury and might never be the same, word is he is not even close to coming back. Will miss at least half the season. But I guess it's worth the risk if you think it's worth it.

So the draft ended up not going as planned. I know it never does but this was a little more than usual for me.
1st round 4th pick - I went with Hall. As expected CMC, Hill, Lamb went before and I had to choose Chase or Hall. I was big on chase this year, I think I talked about earlier wanting to do a Chase and Burrow stack. Chases contract brings a little uncertainty. He’s gonna get his contract but it was still enough to make me cool off and just go with Hall. It’s a RB thin draft and I wanted a Hero RB to make the rest of my roster construction easier.
2nd round 25th pick - The only RB’s I wanted at this slot was Pacheco and Achane. Pacheco was gone but Achane was there. However Josh Allen dropped to me….I was left with Achane or Allen. Achane could be amazing but he has a lot more boom or bust potential than Allen who is money in the bank. I went Josh Allen.
3rd round 32nd pick - I was thinking of Mahomes if he dropped but I had Allen and Mahomes got picked before me. I was looking for Waddle or Brandon Aiyuk at this position for WR, I didn’t like RB’s at this pick when I did mocks, I didn’t want a 3rd round RB.
But the weird happened, Travis Kelce fell to early third round and while he wasn’t on my radar at all before draft, I felt like him dropping to me I had to pick him. Like with my early Allen pick I felt like it would make roster construction easier from there on out
4th round 53rd pick - I needed a WR desperately. Devonta Smith is the best available option.
5th round 60th pick - Pick up another much needed WR with Zay Flowers. I liked this pick where I got him. Was happy about it.
6th round 81st pick - Tony Pollard. Decent value in my opinion.
7th round 88th pick - I wanted Godwin and was watching him for awhile but he got picked right before me and I settled for Jayden Reed.
Later rounds are later rounds, it is what it is
So overall my team for week one is looking like
QB: Allen
RB: Hall
RB: Pollard
WR: D.Smith
WR: Z.Flowers
WR: J.Reed
TE: Kelce
Flex: C.Samuel
Def: 49ers
No kicker. We removed it to reduce randomness. Last year we played with no defense as well but we brought it back this year for some reason.
So I have mixed feelings all in all. I have the best QB, second best RB, best Tight end…..but my WR is pretty damn weak. My number 1 receiver isn’t even the number one receiver on his own damn team…. I like Zay at WR2 though, the kid can play if he can stay healthy.
This is the most uncertain i’ve been post draft ever maybe…but part of it I think has to due with increasing the league size to 14 teams, im not used to gauging teams in a 14 team league.
Here we go for another year. Good luck to everybody.

Drafting Kelce with Aiyuk & Waddle still on the board is very risky, especially when you consider Kelce is coming off one of his worse seasons & is about to turn 35. He's still a stud and will probably be a top 3 TE at worse this year, but I feel his best days are behind him.

I couldn't pull the trigger on drafting TE high... and it was hard to pull the trigger on drafting high on QB too... (but I went with Hurts in one league cause if he gets hurt or fails, I'll still be okay with that result as a Cowboys fan)
Look at Kelce compared to a player like Njoku last year... not much of a difference.

I think it's better to draft 2 late round QBs, and 2 late round TEs and fill the roster up with RBs and WRs early (for 2024)

LoL with the emotional Jalen Hurts hedge. I like that. I had Mason on my radar for the niners but I couldn’t bring myself to pick him, felt like bad juju where you are waiting for a CMC injury. If CMC goes down **** fantasy. I’m a niner fan first :lol
Damn I don’t like those Njoku vs Kelce numbers when accounting draft position……
Still though you have to go with sample size. That’s my cope at least :lol
To be honest I kinda agree with your sentiments of you can get pretty dope TE and QB very very late in the draft…..And my league starts 3 WR…..This seems like it might be the wrong year to go with your first WR pick in 4th round. Damn. I don’t know though these 14 man leagues become a real crapshoot. We just have to wait and see at this point.

I have multiple shares of him as well. The way I see it, he's the starting back on a probable top 10 offense. Zeke is washed but will vulture TDs in the redzone. Still, Dowdle should see the bulk of the carries and has receiving abilities. He actually looks pretty explosive in the film I've seen of him.
Low risk, high reward potential RB2.

The field will be a lot more open with Xavier Worthy in that Chiefs lineup. Defenses could get away with not covering Kadarius Toney because he was ass. Worthy is the perfect fit for this offense.
Kelce is obviously slowing down at 35, but he's still one of the top fantasy TEs in the league, who will get you 7-9 catches a game, close to 90 yards and a TD or 2.

Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
Bruh, some idiot just dropped Anthony Richardson (Projected top 5-7 fantasy QB this year), because I guess he missed the draft (only player who missed it) and the auto picks got him 3 QBs so he dropped one. He had Mahomes, Dak, & Richardson.
I have the #3 waiver wire currently and I'm gonna have to attempt to grab him. Purdy is a fine option, but Richardson can be a game changer if he booms this year. The only question is who do I drop? I don't want to drop Purdy because I like him and Richardson has injury risks.
QB - Purdy
RB - Kyren Williams
RB - Conner
WR - J. Jefferson
WR - London
TE - Ferguson
RB/WR - Aiyuk
D/ST - Saints
K - McPherson
WR - Waddle
WR - Higgins
RB - A. Jones
RB - Brian Robinson
WR - Hopkins
RB - Corum
RB - Dowdle
IR (RB) - J. Brooks

I have been feeling the same. KC offense has gotten neutered a bit the last few years. Defense figured out to take the top off the offense and keep it in front of them, then after that they lost Hill and his replacements have been horrid. I think having xavier and marquise will re-establish the deep threat and spread the field as you were saying, allowing kelce to find pockets underneath all day hopefully.

Richardson and Purdy is a nice combo for streaming QB, Rich has that home run potential but also can get injured due to his style of play. Purdy is mr consistency where you know what you are gonna get. I picked up rich late last year as a back up and he tore it up and I was trying to shop him and he got injured….If I had to guess he’s gonna miss more than 3 games this year, if you can afford to keep brock and rich they should give you good starts at your QB position.

My problem is I always forgo RBs in my drafts, then I'm scrambling for second string guys later in the draft. You'd think I'd learn to get them early in the draft so I don't have to worry later on, but seeing some WRs seem more appealing to me instead. I never learn. :facepalm

If you are in a PPR league, RBs lose some value, but RBs are traditionally thin. I thought about drafting Gibbs or Taylor over Justin Jefferson, but simply couldn't do it. Jefferson is arguably the best WR in the league, his QB situation sucks, but he had a couple of huge games last year with Mullens starting.

In today's passing league RBs aren't nearly as valuable as they used to be with all the committees teams run now. Gone are the days of a 20-25+ touch a game running back. An elite WR and TE strategy works well today and rushing QBs are king over pocket passers fantasy wise. Playoffs are a different story but that doesn't matter for fantasy.

Mullens is actually not bad for a fantasy WR imo. He’s not a great QB but he can make throws, he just makes lots of mistakes too. But that almost helps in fantasy because his team will be behind in the game a lot which leads to a game flow of more passing. Mullens would put up some pretty big numbers the season Jimmy G got injured (niners would still lose, they were empty stats, but in fantasy that doesn’t matter)

Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
Who here is a Javonte Williams owner? Saw this reddit comment, he could be lying, but I think it's legit.
I went to denver broncos training camp all summer. Javonte is about to be a major bust this year. I could see javonte being a rb 3 and irrelevant to fantasy by week 5. I'm about to break it all down.
Sean Payton is not a big fan of javonte, he did not draft him and has been trying to replace him ever since he got in town. That's why jaleel got so much work last year. Also javonte had a seruis attitude problem and sean hates it. Javonte was late for camp almost every day and got chewed out more then any other player at camp.
He is not a rookie QB friendly RB he struggled very badly in pass catching and pass protection last year and all camp this year he was dropping tons of passes and misses lots of blocks all camp, he striggled in general. And unfortunately estime is a great pass protector and short yardage back and jaleel is great on early downs and at pass catching. This is what gets javonte taken off the field alot.
The competition behind javonte is simply better. Javonte say less the half of the 1st team reps in practice and all the pre season games. Jaleel Mcghlaulin say the most 1st team reps in both and looked great all summer. He made the most plays at practice and In pre season games. On top of that jaleel would show up an hour before practice started every day and sean payton loves him. He gushes about him all the time and I think he sees him as a smaller kamara. On top of that estime is starting to take javntes 1st team reps as well simply because he's a better pass protector.
This is why javonte was on the roster bubble and alot of denver insiders were hearing he may get cut. Javonte is about to be a major bust and don't be surprised when he sees less then 30% of snaps week 1. The broncos RBs will be a committee of 3 but if there's one you want it will be Jaleel Mcghualin.
Id be happy to send you photos of camp as well. So you know im not blowing smoke.

In that case there should be a league manager overseeing these types of things. In my leagues you can't just drop certain players, or make ridiculous trades, etc. Just ruins the validity of the league. Money or no money it's just not fun when people don't know what they're doing

Id be happy to send you photos of camp as well. So you know im not blowing smoke.
I'm gonna take your word for it and see if I can pick up Mcghlaulin in one of my leagues.
good info there.
An elite WR and TE strategy works well today
disagree with the elite TE strategy... I.Likely proved that tonight.
there aren't many players I would call elite at TE in 2024... in terms of fantasy production

Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
I went with Elite TE, Elite QB, Elite RB, in a 14 man league with 3 WR spots.
I’m not kicking myself yet but damn. I don’t know if I like this.

A 3pt projection guy going off in 1 game doesn't prove much of anything. Is likely better than mahomes, pacheco, rice and derŕick Henry as well? It's one game. Not saying he can't be very good this season but we have to wait and see.
Kelce does look a little washed. He's played a ton of football past 5 years and he's 34 years old. Thankful the computer took Laporta over him for me.

Puka and Kyren going off last year won people leagues if they picked them up.
The Ravens have no WR weapons other than Flowers and the Ravens ran a ton of 2 TE sets. So even if Andrew's rebounds, Likely is still gonna get a ton of targets.
Week 1 projections mean nothing for guys like this. He's well worth an add and a good chunk of faab.

Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
Things we learned from last night
Lamar is still not that guy
Ravens dont need Andrews they have a stud tightend for way cheaper and way younger.
Kelce fell back to the pack (and is not the clear cut best in a tier by himself) it wasn't just a fluke 1 year fall off last season. He's old. He is no longer head and shoulders the best tight end. Kittle and LaPorta are neck & neck with him fighting for best tightend in the league
NFL gms are idiots. 31 other teams let the chiefs get worthy.....let that sink in
Ravens defense looks decent
Henry lost his burst

Re: We need to talk about 2024 Fantasy Football
Kelce isnt washed - the Chiefs are just load managing hin until the playoffs. They're gonna ride the young guys so Kelce is fresh in the playoffs. He has another gear. Terrible fantasy asset if you took him early, but still a monster in real life. 11 receptions in the AFCG, and 9 in the super bowl last year against two of the best defenses ever.
