Its actually good that theyres a long layoff. Nuggets and Warriors lost because of shit rest scheduling and key players got hurt. Want to see both teams play as fresh and healthy as can be.

No one’s getting injured. Weak excuse
Pacers don't turn it over, they shoot well from 3, they are deep, and have one of the best coaches in the league.
Wolves played into OKCs strengths by being a dumb, high turnover team.
The Pacers are a smart team and were red hot for the last part of the season as well, they've been an elite team for several months now.
Based on what we've seen from both teams - this series should be a toss up.
I'll take OKC in 7.
Agreed. Thunder in 7. An exciting matchup of offense and defense.
Oklahoma Rednecks Stole The Sonics.
ya'll are crazy if you think the pacers can extend this to 7 games. the disparity in the talent gap is more than just significant. okc is just better in all regards. pacers are good enough to stave off a blow out 4 game sweep, but 7 games? nah LOL. and i'm a Hali fan and would much rather prefer indy wins the ship this year over okc.

Not only are they going to extend the series. They're going to win it.

from yahoo sports:
The Thunder opened as -800 favorites in the NBA Finals at BetMGM, with the Pacers as +550 underdogs.
highly unlikely barring injuries

You're talking to the wrong person about spreads and odds. I pay zero attention to that crap and don't care about it.
OKC sweep
OKC sweep. Indiana are going to found out the hard way what it's like to come up against a great defensive unit and 10 deep roster. They're going to be suffocated into submission.
There is literally no way they can win this series. Not even injuries could save them.
OKC in 5.
there was this full ankle twist injury for IND in game 7.
hope all of them recover. or else, we an't seeing game 6.
Worst Finals Ever

The last time this was so widely proclaimed before the series started was 2004. Followed by 2011.

If we really look at the matchups and do it talent for talent its not that far off.
Haliburton and SGA are close as talents, the league just markets SGA more. Hes in all the tv commercials with Chet and Jalen. Siakam / Myles Turner is just as talented as Chet / Hartenstein. Nembhard and Nesmith ain't too different from Dort and Jalen. Tough white boys off the bench in Caruso and TJ McConnell. Both teams like to run track meet. If OKC dominates it will be because of HCA and a hot start. If we gave Indy HCA and removed free throw bias the odds would be drastically different.
Indy also has the better coach. I'm actually glad odds are this tilted. This is big bulletin board material for the Pacers who also like playing underdog / villain role. Reggie Miller spirit. The Nuggets and Wolves both played scared especially on the road.

i'd be surprised if pacers make it competitive, let alone win a game :lol

We get it. Don't watch it then and go cry somewhere else ya big Californian softie.
The Thunder are the 2nd youngest team in the last 70 years to make the Finals, only behind Bill Walton and the 1976-77 Trail Blazers

Its on NBA TV right?
it starts tonight right
I feel like everybody is gonna forget the NBA playoffs even still exist with such a long layoff.:lol
Give a long layoff now, but earlier teams had to play B2B road games in less than 48 hour time span across two different series. Great job Adam.
And two non mainstream teams in it too. This is gonna be a ratings disaster to the max. I'll still watch it though so long as Indy gets hot. If they're getting locked up I'm turning the shit off. Although the Knicks did do that to them in the ECF and I missed one of the greatest comebacks of all time in G1 because I thought it was over so I fell asleep.

I'm cool with the layoff GOBB. Just wish they did the same thing for the rest of the playoffs.
But they didn't.
The layoff is ridiculous, the Thunder are gonna go an entire week without playing.
Even if you support the long layoff, the 3 days between games is honestly even worse. We're in the middle of the playoffs and we're going to have 1 game in the span of a week. Even the NFL playoffs give you more games than that.

Its trash. Just dumb. Kills momentum. Potentially can kill ratings. Especially in a situation with these two small market teams. But whatever. Common sense ain’t always common

It's not really a long layoff. Game 7 would have been on Monday.
Since January 1st:
Thunder: 53-13 record
Pacers: 46-18 record
Since January 1st:

The Thunder played two games against each other. on December 26 the Thunder won 120-114. On March 29, the Thunder won 132-111.

The 95-96 Bulls had 9 days off between the ECF and game 1 of the Finals.
The 95-96 Bulls had 9 days off between the ECF and game 1 of the Finals.
As did the '01 Lakers. But at least back then they didn't have 3 days between every game, that to me is even worse than this long layoff between the rounds.
Just one more day for the finals. Then we go back on vacation for Game 2

Cannot wait for Friday and Saturday.
Cannot wait for Friday and Saturday. And most of the day Sunday since it’s a night game in the same city (OKC).
