Re: Joel Embiid MVP odds are currently at +15000
Nets buying Simmons out in his final year is vastly different. Embiid has a 300 million dollar contract with three years on it. It's not about "guts" its about spending hundreds of millions of dollars. They are screwed either way, if they can't save some money there's no point in waiving him and there's no reason to think he will give them money back.
No the Sixers withheld Simmons pay before they traded him because he was sitting out with fake injuries.
Embiid did that last year and now is apparently just gonna go on the court this season and go pathetically thru the motions.
They should withhold his pay. Maybe cutting him wouldnt make sense bc then they cant prove hes being a bum. But if he doesnt live up to a reasonable standard of play he is known to be capable of, when hes completely medically cleared, they should simply not pay him. Stop the checks.
Re: Joel Embiid MVP odds are currently at +15000
yeah cutting him gets him out of the building but doesn't increase their cap space, even if Embiid agrees to a discount.
Right, maybe cutting him isnt the correct way to do it. But they should not pay him if hes not giving serious effort to be the player hes capable of being. They extended him for 90 ****ing million dollars for two years.
Hes just gonna collect that and pout his way out of his obligation?
It's shocking more fans arent loudly demanding the NBA address it. But obviously most fans dont care about the quality or standard of anything, they just want something to belong to. Even if theyre being served shit on a platter, as long the group isnt saying anything they wont say anything.
Re: Joel Embiid MVP odds are currently at +15000
Embiid isn't refusing to play, that's nonsense. He was out there just last night. Not going to debate your random thoughts.

Good bc I was just wondering why the hell I was even trying to explain something to Real NPCs Wear Green. Glad we're on the same page.
Re: Joel Embiid MVP odds are currently at +15000
The Sixers have been decently good and Embiid has to show he can play more than 65 games in the season. At least one of those things happening is likely to happen. I'm getting he doesn't win MVP.
