Why does this vote count for Amare?
Dirk. He may not have the scoring or rebounding edge, but he's a better passer/decision maker/high Bball IQ player. Amare in his prime will be a GREAT second option that puts up very good stats, but that's all I can see from him. Dirk has led a team worse than Amare's to the Finals, and despite what many people say, Dirk is average in the clutch. Not above or below, just average. Dirk does things that help his team win, and consistently play at a high level.

Other than statman32 I don't hear much about the others like PhxFanAtBirth,, since 2006 he only have only 627 post and the majority have been since Amare have been move to PF. Some of them like Kobe lovers are player fans before team fans.
Before this season, I would've taken Dirk hands down. But Amare has clearly stepped it up this year. So I'm taking STAT.

Dirk has had a good career, but if I was building a team right now I would take Amare hands down.

I have to go with Dirk. He has cared his team and is the mvp of his own team compared to Amare. If you trade Amare for Dirk, I dont see the mavs becoming any better in the regular season or the playoff. If Dirk was playing with the Suns, I could see them being the same Suns team, but the playoff would be something different. Shaq is not the young Shaq anymore, but to double team him is hard with Dirk out there. That team would just be amazing. Extremly hard to guard, but easy to score against. To sum up, I will take Dirk
